Nice work this week! I really struggle running later in the day. Early morning runs definitely work better for me. Plus i get to feel that i have achieved something early on! Im mid way through week 2 of following the suggested workouts but taking three days off to hike in the Cotswolds 😊

I'm really enjoying this series! As it happens I have very similar running stats as you do (VO2, suggested paces, etc), and I just recently bought a Garmin after almost 10 years of running with a Polar watch. I watched your first three episodes just after I pulled the trigger on buying my Forerunner and your experiences made me confident that I'd made the right choice.
I'm currently training to improve my 1.5 mile time from 13:14 to (hopefully) around 12:20. With that goal entered into Garmin, I'm starting to get some realistic daily suggestions on the watch and the somewhat unknown nature of what it's going to serve up every day helps keep me engaged in the process.
Looking forward to the next episode!

I'm really enjoying this series, Lucy! You're a natural behind the camera. Threshold in the evening would be a big no no for me lol! I started using the HR target type too, so much better for the warmer weather.

I sometimes dip into pace just to see what it thinks I should be doing (interesting how my suggested pace is faster for most runs now I’m 5 weeks in e.g. base runs have gone from 7:45/km to 7:15/km but I’m really happy I’m being sensible sticking with HR! 🫡
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback - just trying to ‘keep it real’ haha! I have to record a lot of video content for work so really happy to have a transferable skill 😅 thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

So far so good, there’s definitely ups and downs but on the whole the data is positive and I’m feeling good (which is the main thing!) 🤓

A very interesting experiment! I saw your video last week, immediately watched all 4 episodes and was already waiting for the sequel, as an interesting series. I really like it. I keep an eye on the recommendations myself every day and sometimes even follow them.😆
I am very glad that you are making such significant progress, it is very cool, I wish you a good day, good training and of course a personal record!🏅

Watching your videos brings good luck - after months in the orange, last week my VO2_max went into the green for the first time.

Great series of videos, I recently treated myself to a Garmin watch as I was not improving with my running, currently using one of the coaching sessions and after 4 weeks seeing real improvements.
What’s happened to this week’s video? You cannot leave us wanting.

Episode 6 will be out tomorrow which will be Week 6 and 7 combined into one video as Week 6 threw a bit of a curveball… it’s on its way ☺️

Great video and lovely presentation Lucy!
How I sympathise with you with asthma and hayfever!
Im originally from Manchester (UK) but now living in Sweden, and the spring tree pollen season will be starting very soon here, then it's a nightmare for 4-6 weeks :o(
How did you find taking "pre-workout" before your runs - does it help?
I always struggle what to eat before running, espicially for morning runs (usually have a bowl with a couple of weetabix ;o) - just to have something, rather than an empty stomach)
Do you just run or you do some strength training too?
Keep up the great work, and love to see the improvements you're making!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback and completely empathise with you on tree pollen season 🤧
Pre workout - I think I think it helps - not sure if it’s a placebo effect 🤣 but it’s got enough caffeine in it to do SOMETHING surely - I used to take it before a hard gym session or before my bike FTP test and it’s a very weird feeling, kind of makes you tingle 🫣
Haven’t done much strength training at all this “block” really as I didn’t want it to affect my experiment 🧪 i.e. do I strength train on my hard days and keep my easy days easy? Do I strength train on a recovery day? Is it really a recovery then 🤷🏼‍♀️? Will definitely be adding strength training back in for my Berlin block which starts after this PB attempt - the jury is out on whether I use this method for a marathon?! Maybe an interesting 18 week series 2 🤣

Great video Lucy! Such an interesting journey and a real advert for Garmin actually too! Out of interest what platform do you have on your treadmill & bike (looks good)? 🤔

    • @TheRunnerLucy
      @TheRunnerLucy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It IS good! My treadmill and bike are both peloton. I got both during lockdown. It’s not cheap but I don’t have an expensive gym membership and I work from home (pandemic or not!) so the convenience is worth it to me.
I do have a referral code if you ever think about getting one in the future: www.onepeloton.co.uk/referral/4560f675e7034800a995c9222193df50?source=More&locale=en-GB&
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback ☺️

Thanks Lucy that’s great! I have a very basic treadmill at the moment (no screen as such) but I might treat myself to an upgrade at some point! Keep up the good work - it can’t be easy to get these videos out every week! 👏

I get about 1% quicker at editing each week 🤣 trying new ways of filming each time too! I can see why TH-cam can be a full-time thing for some people! Thanks so much again!

Which pre-work out are you using? Do you recommend it?
