I was searching for this show for past 25 years of my life since i watched it on PTV Channel in my childhood and now i finally found it on TH-cam ! I will never forget the music because it's so awesome to listen ... I m so happy right now !!!
I loved the concept and the music. It was one of those series that suffered from executive meddling. I think seasons 1 and 4 are my favourites. I still think that the taelon cgi holds up pretty well
It went through a lot of changes and turmoil. They were never consistent with the plot and it changed from season to season. The actors left or changed.
They really setup a fantastic mystery and cast in season one, using GR’s notes and then flushed it over and over and over. MR was, to put it mildly, outraged. The core group were just hitting their stride when execs that had no business in the room pulled the rug out from under everything.
Nostaglia! When you we're just a kid and then you watch this series about aliens roam the earth as benevolent beings, you truly believe that aliens are real to help us. What a magical days in those 90's. Aliens are your favorites instead of cartoons.
If you watched it from the beginning, you would be amazed at the show. The undercurrent of deceit were the reason to watch. Also, Captain Lilian Marquet was not hard on the eyes.
The Canadian company that ran the thing decided to kill off Boone... (I don't think Majel Roddenberry agreed with that idea, which is to say she pretty much lost control of the project Gene had started) ... One they killed off Boone and rewrote the characters the show quickly became a complete farce. It still pisses me off when I think about it. Great idea, completely pissed on by the Canadian producers.
delroy washington i gree with you 100%. The Atavus sucked in season 5. They should either remake this series and not kill off the Taelons. Or they can have a prequel too this series, like Taelons traveling too earth, like maybe first half of season, and last part of season them arriving on Earth. Then next three seasons having their first three years on earth, and have episodes of friction between Sandoval and his wife and eventually putting her in the penitentiary by protecting her from the Taelons, and thus forth.
Are you referring to the Atavus aliens of season 5? I agree they lacked cohesion with the Taelons but I found them entertaining nonetheless. Especially Alan Von Sprang as Howlyn and the late Guylaine St-Onge as Juda. It was a hoot when Taelon Zo'or (Anita La Selva) was changed into an Atavus to work for them but couldn't control her impulse to feed on humans and was finally disposed of by Howlyn. Still a fun though very different show.

My problem with the 5th season wasn't the Atavus, but how the series seemed to have deviated from its formula of resistance fighters infiltrating bases and sabotaging them. Not to mention that the quest to find the Atavus mothership was lost and didn't return until the series went back to formula. Also, the absence of an ensemble cast of characters was something I missed and I felt that Juda and Sandoval's relationship was a missed opportunity. The fifth season was a bit uneven, but still entertaining.

I loved this weird and beautiful theme music, watching the expanse I immediately recongized some similarities maybe it's a coincidence?
these concepts (of holographic controls in the spacechip and symbiotic space ship) are based in real concepts, from alien abductees reports etc...

Those Taelons were actually the kind of aliens you would expect to have in a sci-fi show for a first contact setting, compared to the Vulcans.
I like how the ending if the series essentially set up Star Trek like spin-off if they had chosen to go that route.

True... although I saw no point in killing off Boone.
Boone was the best character, I hated his death (in my opinion the worst decision made in production), but I loved his comeback.
