    Of course older Nikkor D lens line can be used by FTZ, just not gonna be AF and need to use manual, what is very easy in mirror less system. Of course not for fast scene, but for steady shots Manual focuse can be used easy. This D lense compare to any AF-A D line will be poor quality, for S line even more, but on the beginning, if You short on money, You can use nearly all Your old Nikkor lenses, by FTZ adapter.

    Great Video and great photos! i love this lens. although the 50 has been a staple in photography for years i think this 50 is nikons best lens ever. next grab that 85 1.8 you will love it just as much

      I can’t get over how sharp it is, it’s pretty amazing. My next one, I want something a bit wider, maybe the 14-30, but the 85 is high on the list. Thanks for watching as always! 😎👊🏻

      @@JasonLorette Thank you too. I do love Primes, although I love the convenience of the telephotos. I bought the 70-180 Z lens and I don't know whether to keep it, I'm wondering if there is going to be an 70-200 S f4 lens some time.

    Glad you're making progress with your camera. That new lens is great, and I'm impressed by the Sigma quality too. Just one initial comment you might wish to examine and possibly address - watch how much you're waving your arms about in the early shots - distracting, or not ?

    • @JasonLorette

      Ha ha thanks Geoff, I talk with my hands, I don’t even know I’m doing it. 🤪 I was really impressed with the Sigma for filming, I may use it more for that because of the width actually. The 50mm is pretty impressive, thanks for watching! 😎👊🏻

    I got exactly the Z6ll and the z 50 1.8. one thing I didn't consider was how expensive are the 2.8 zooms. I thought about selling the camera and lens for the same price since there's almost no new Z6ll available in my country and get a Fuji XT-3 or XT-4 because the XF lenses are "cheaper" more or less. Haven't tried an XT camera so I'm not sure how worst or equal the image quality is. Do you think I'll be making a terrible choice? Got the Z6ll instead of the Z7 thinking it was more future proof but everyone seems obsessed about 45mp, now I'm not so sure and the Fuji gives the perfect escape because I know there's nowhere to go up even if I wanted to

    • @JasonLorette
      @JasonLorette  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know a lot about the Fuji units to be honest, but people that have them like them. The Z6II and the 50mm is a great combo while you look at other lenses. I didn’t need the 45MP of a z7 personally, storage also becomes an issue then. Thanks for watching! 😎👍🏻

      You got great camera and lens...
      I mean just look at those photos man. They are perfect! You cant (if) do much better.
      One pro photographer told me that we reached probbably the max in image quality and that people are starting to miss that imperfection from the generation before.
      Instead of worrying about changing gear enjoy this one you have.
      PS
      Going from Nikon Z6II and Z 50mm 1.8 and go for Fuji XT-3 or XT-4 would be an idiotic thing to do 😅
      Problem these days is the people are thinking too much, when you were a child or younger if someone would give you gear that you now have you couldnt sleep from joy of what you have and would produce amazing images...
      My opinion at least. You go for what you like ☺

    Amazing lens, but I'm still really happy with the 50 G on my Z6 - it's a bit bulky with the FTZ, but probably still smaller than the new one. The bokeh isn't quite as smooth, it's not quite as sharp, but for £100 used it still punches hard! The MFD is really the only thing that would make me upgrade eventually. The 50 I use most though is actually a 40mm - the tiny, cheap Viltrox 40mm f/2.5 - it doesn't sound very exciting, but it's got a real charm to it, and the IQ is better than the Nikon 40mm IMO. Sharper and nicer bokeh.
