I found both methods to be a bit more time consuming rather than using "conture" to thicken the lettering rather than outline.
    Simply select the lettering desired
Select INTERACTIVE CONTOUR (on left tool bar), select contour
Adjust contour/outline to desired thickness (using the menu bar or contour toolbox)
(it helps to make the contour a different color to better manage what you're doing)
Right click on lettering, select CONVERT TO CURVES
Using pick tool (arrow) select the lettering you are working with
Go to ARRANGE in top menu bar and select BREAK CURVE APART(or use Control K)
The lettering is now separated and you can simply delete the foreground lettering at one time.

Oh my gosh you just saved me so much time and head ache. I always did the individual node deletion method. This method is so much better.......Thanks so much

The quickest and easiest is to
    1. convert outline to object (shift, ctrl,Q or find option under ARRANGE tab)
    2. Select converted outline & original object and WELD (found on tool bar or under ARRANGE tab/SHAPING selector/flyout/WELD)

My problem is 'beefing up' a font. The Convert to object; create new outline method works fine. You can then go in and delete everything bar the outline of the new expandedfont.

You made following along very easy. I have CD 2019 and can’t seem to find the outline tool, could you explain how to make this letter style? Thanks!

For signmaking. Vinyl cutter essentially a printer but with a tiny scalpel instead of a printhead.
