I only just discovered this channel and have just binged watched them all. The presentation quality, pace detail etc as well as filming is SUPERB .. so many channels pad out some trivial thing into multiple 20 minute dumbed down rambles .. here you skip through with key and salient detail after detail after detail. Absolutely tremendous. AS OF COURSE IS ALSO THE QUALITY OF THE RESTORATION WORK !. superb !

Am pretty sure there was a fowler loco used at Marian Sugar mill (Queensland) as a shunter still in use in the late 60s. my late brother did a fitter and turner apprenticeship there then.

    Lovely those new castings.
The loco took quite a hit to get such a kink in the frames.

Following with great interest. The patterns are spot on, good to see you using modern manufacturing methods where applicable.

Hi, I was wondering who dose your 3D scanning and then modifying the drawings to become a pattern instead of the item? I am restoring a 1911 titan tractor, and need some parts cast. I have had the scan done, but now need the modifications done to turn it into a pattern.
I have really been enjoying your videos of your restoration. Thanks from Geoffrey

Simon, Watching your rebuild from back here in QLD. The level of detail that you and the family are putting into this is amazing and knowing what rebuilding vehicles cost, are you doing the work for someone or are you just restoring this for yourself??????? Just curious.
Oh another question with seeing other videos of your shop which seems to be in town on a busy road is the loco being restored there or at another site??????
Love your videos and I can not wait to see the little cane loco running again.

Hi William. Thanks for the great comments. Yep, we are just restoring this as our toy. Miniature locomotives is my day job, so this is different enough to be fun & regaining my hobby. The frames, boiler and assembly is at ‘workshop x’ a secret location here in Yorkshire with an overhead crane. All the smaller parts are being restored at our main workshop near Leeds. 🙂

Sorry to be a little negative, a lot of us steam enthusiasts in Australia are starting to get a little pissed off that a lot of Aussie Train history is finding its way back to the UK.
