Ralphs Club Elixir is an absolute beast on my skin! I get over 12 hrs! I love that I can smell all the stages of the dry down! It’s changes so much IMO! My cool weather signature scent!
Well designer are more mass pleasing so generally more pleasant fragrances as a rule. I See niche fragrances like these special clothes by designers that aren't meant to be worn on the streets but weonly see them on catwalks and maybe on stage when someone signs or gets an award or something.
Hello Omar! Nice review. I currently have Uden from Xerjoff and Allure homme Édition blanche from Chanel. I must say that I'm sure that Édition blanche would like to be like Uden, which is far above it in terms of quality and performance. In fact, the reformulated Édition blanche has a beatiful aroma, but on my skin only stays around 3-4hours. On the other hand, Uden is a great summer evening/night fragrance with a soft boozy touch that has a medium projection and a great development on skin, around 8 hours. You can go out with Uden on your skin without performance worries.
Niche brand doesn’t mean quality or great smells. It means the brand exclusively focuses on making a particular good or product, in this case fragrances. Most niche brands are not worth their prices… lots of designer and some clones nowadays last longer and have equally good blends
@@raiden6513 Brands only making fragrances being the definition of niche, that I used to believe also, has never been the definition, anyone can look it up. That isn't my 'opinion'. 😅
@@SchoolOfScent im pretty sure the definition like “exclusive unique fragrance” is a selling point of niche houses. Thats how they want you to think of it. When in reality there are designer houses, which make everything from clothes to fragrances, and niche houses, which specialize in a niche of fragrance making. Chanel and Dior make mass appealing but very high quality and high quality ingredient fragrances. Does that make them niche?
I like how you mentioned perfumers in this video :) Please do it more often it's really interesting to learn something about them You are the "school od scents' at the end of the day
I consider Noir De Noir by Tom Ford more or less niche. I wouldn’t call it mass appealing in the normal sense. I think people need to get use to it a bit, especially if they are not used to smelling rose on a guy. Channel Allure Edition Blanche was my summer scent.
If your looking for future video ideas how about reviewing a sites clones like The essence vault for how good they are??These are being pushed by tiktokers heavily lately and I have tried a few and I didn't find them bad. BUT I never smelt the originals they were "inspired by" So I cannot compare. Would love a comparison of top scents from there compared to the real thing like aventus and any prada scents.
How mass appealing is chanel allure homme edition blanche? Thinking about blind buying it but a bit reluctant. Can it come off as off putting to some? I’ve usually only blind bought blue fragrances because I’ve never had a single miss with those.
I apologize, but it appears that you have the definitions of niche and designer wrong. In the industry, niche and designer is about the house and the house only. A designer house does other things for example fashion, jewelry ,accessories a niche house does primarily fragrance hence that is their niche so for example, a niche house can make a mass appealing cheaper fragrance and a designer house can make an over priced, outrageously creative offering it’s just typically they do it in some type of private line. This helps to make this so where there is no subjectivity so for example it’s very easy to see that Prada is designer because they offer other things and Creed is not because their niche is fragrances, hope this helps
@@SchoolOfScent Thank you for the reply. The definition I gave is the dictionary definition and it’s how the industry operates. It’s why people within the industry chuckle when they see people caring whether they buy niche or designer, it simply is meaningless. However, it’s quite true that a niche house will have more freedom to be creative yet simultaneously have a more difficult time keeping costs down. Unfortunately what we’ve seen happen is that designer houses have caught on (like Tom Ford) that people will pay more for fragrances overall. I detect that this definition somehow shakes your worldview. Don’t let it. However you want to define a niche fragrance is ultimately fine since, as I said earlier, it’s meaningless. However, if you try to convince folks they ‘need’ niche, it’s disingenuous. What they need is what they want.
Obviously he didn’t forget that particular fragrance or the once people like you are commenting that he forget.he is talking about 12 fragrances so if the list was 30 or 100 he might mention it.
It’s almost like you’re proving my point here. All of the houses you mention in this video are indeed designer as they have other things going on, yet you say they have niche quality. So under your incorrect interpretation why not just call them niche since, for you, it’s subjective? It’s not subjective and it’s quite easy. It’s objective. The HOUSE is either niche or designer and of course the product follows. Tom Ford is a designer house so everything they make no matter how unique, or expensive, is a designer fragrance. Everything PDM makes is Niche even if they made a $20 version of MYSLF.

For Prada I would also include Luna Rossa black 🖤 and Infusion Iris Cèdre 🪵 both are niche quality but yes Prada l'homme Intense is the best from the brand 👑
@@GerryT. Yes I own both. Guapo performs better sure, and it definitely isn't a bad scent, but I still prefer Cobalt (which also isn't a bad performer either).
@@SchoolOfScent Just got Guapo and I have to say very underwhelmed, I'm hoping it improves in time because the opening and dry down nowhere near as strong and long lasting as Loewe 7 Cobalt which is a fantastic fragrance, especially the opening. I don't know if I've just got a weak batch of Guapo,.

Unpopular opinion , designer > niche
dunno, better in what?
