@@lambda-m1676od i cant wait to visit japan. its so beautiful down there. hey darnoc i know your comment is from 4 years ago but... is there ANY chance that if i go down there could get someone to do the main character tattoo. that’s literally been on my bucket list for a while
@@rzwitdauncut DO NOT. It is a Yakuza tattoo. People will basically think you're some criminal. Also SEGA back then had an event, the main winner would get an AUTHENTHIC Kiryu tattoo to the back, done with the same methods most Yakuza tattoo inkers do.
@@lambda-m1676 wait.. no way.. i mean i could definitely put two and two together but your tellin me the main character from yakuza kiwami kiryu has a legit gang tatto?
All of Yakuza's main menu themes really have that ethereal, almost divine sounding ambiance to them which I absolutely adore and fits very well with Kiryu's 'Dragon' motif
As someone in comments put it best. The song is reflection of the character and what kind of crap they are going to go through as they are in deep meditative thought trying to find peace in a hostile and dangerous world they live in. No matter how much they try to find peace they know sooner or later they will have to go back to that dangerous life to help out in any way they can. It reflects more to kiryu for this one that he is about done being a yakuza but getting out isn’t going to be easy and there will be lots of trouble and death along the way to gain his peaceful life something he has to accept even if he doesn’t want to half the time
As expected, I started with Yakuza Kiwami (being its a remake of the first one), and the main menu made it awesome that my brother, who introduced it to me, left out a lot things to mention.
Just finished Yakuza Zero. Amazing game, reminded me how awesome japanese games are. So glad that I can experience the entire series, thanks to Xbox Game Pass.
The same for me kiwami 2 was good but something about kiwami makes me wanna play it over and over again I tried Yakuza 6 and don't get me wrong it's good but kiwami 1 always will have a impact on you
This theme...when I first heard it, it reminded me of the old game generation. It had a peaceful sound. It brought back memories of playing my uncles Ps2, starting up ratchet and clank, tony hawk underground 2, and true crime LA. Truly a great soundtrack but this song especially stands out.
Love this but I still prefer the original from the PS2 game for some reason. Nostalgia probably. Can't believe I played that when it was new in mid-2000's and now here we are all these years later with remakes and all the sequels. Time flies but this series never drops the quality.
After this game....I had to play them all...which I did...I bought 0 because I was bored back then but I didn't know the series was this much of a banger...I currently own all main titles digitally on my ps4 even the remastered 3 4 and 5 which I got the special theme for now comes my rating....20/10 best game I ever played
I'm more of a fan of the original PS2 game and I'm glad the Kiwami OST is often reminiscent of that but this track is really a great addition, wonderful music.
This music is like that feeling of "something isnt right" and well, the storyline shows what isnt right, anymore
To me, this is the music of a deep meditation
I always thought of it as a cool song talking about finding inner peace in a treacherous and unforgiving world for those who want peace.
I went to Kabukicho this weekend when visiting my family in Japan. Listening to this song while in Kabukicho felt surreal.
Was Yakuza accurate with the depiction?
All fun an games until u hear "Kiyru chan" or "chotto Matte" while u walk around

After finishing Yakuza 0, I jumped into this and the main menu theme alone.. just wow.
I was scrolling adjusting my settings and mid-way through it hit me how great the menu music was lol
As expected, I started with Yakuza Kiwami (being its a remake of the first one), and the main menu made it awesome that my brother, who introduced it to me, left out a lot things to mention.
This might be the best main menu song from all the Yakuza Series.
Agreed.
It’s so menacing. After i finished zero i started kiwami and said yup this game is badass
@Koops Akimoto I would love to have one but as a tiger. But first I am building my body for it
@Koops Akimoto thx
Better say, the best main menu song from all game series.
Just finished Yakuza Zero. Amazing game, reminded me how awesome japanese games are. So glad that I can experience the entire series, thanks to Xbox Game Pass.
The dragon was locked away for 10 years. But returned to unleash its might once more.....
Kiwami was my first yakuza, When i first started it i heard the menu and i was lost for words, and how great and satisfying this theme was
The same for me kiwami 2 was good but something about kiwami makes me wanna play it over and over again I tried Yakuza 6 and don't get me wrong it's good but kiwami 1 always will have a impact on you

This and Yakuza 6's menu themes are my favorite
Thanks for the extension on this one!
I love the little distorted guitar riffs used. It hammers home the fact that *everything* is wrong after Kiryu's return.
Its like you're ready to hit downtown Shinjuku. Eager of the dangers ahead.

10 seconds later....
KIRYU CHAN!
Aw goddamn it! It hasn't even been forty seconds since the last fight!

0:01 to 0:58 on, best main menu music ever.
Very cool menu theme reminds me of some nice silent hill ost the sample not the drums
Yeah same for me
Reminds me of the soundtrack in some hitman games
Is there anything about kiwami that isn't depressing ?
sounds like Hitman: Contracts streets of Hong Kong.

I can't help but think about Mitsubishi Corporation as similar to the Omi Alliance and Tojo when listening to this song.
Am I absolutely crazy or does this sound at least slightly similar to Phil Collins's "Against All Odds"??
