      I am black and stand with the Lord. So, I am already a very big target regardless if I am a grey man or not. Regarding tactics in this situation. You might as well need to wear whatever tactical gear , fire arms that can stand out because you're going to be attacked regardless.. tactical gear does give intimidation look because most likely you know what you are doing. I'd rather have people be scared of me then not be scared of me.

      You go into a buisness meeting, a kindergarden, a hospital, a bank, ... with a molle backpack, you look wrong in this environment. Like you are lost or an intruder. With a normal backpack like an Eastpak or a buisness backpack - you fit into the environment. It's like having a shotgun over your shoulder. In the woods or and the range - perfect environment. Everywhere else - not fitting into the environment.

    "Not translatable into multiple environments" You'll have to explain that one, I have no idea what you were even trying to say there....with MOLLE I would argue it is the most versatile for hauling different gear for different environments. Backpacking, hiking, camping, overnight motorcycle trips, etc. Putting stuff on the outside isn't practical? What? Where do you put your Nalgene holders then? Where do you attach your wet gear to dry out while hiking then? Where do you attach additional pouches to hold more inventory? Do you even do outdoor activities? My FILBE was $50, is tough as nails, and will last me a lifetime. Good luck with your overpriced hipster pack.

    Interesting points, I mainly use military packs for my gear since most civilian backpacks wear out quickly. I guess it really depends on the environment, if you live in a city than it’s probably gonna stand out more, I live in a small town in the south of USA and everyone here owns something with camo print 😂. It also depends on the situation, if we’re talking full on apocalypse then I don’t see the point in caring about the color of packs, most people would be too scared and would hide out in their homes at first, they wouldn’t come out until they needed something, after a week everyone who didn’t prepare would be dead only leaving those who did prepare left which would decrease the need for caring about stuff like bag color since everyone you meet would most likely be a prepper/fellow survivalist.

    As a military aviator, I agree with your first point to a certain degree.
    Whenever we go to certain countries we are advised to blend in and not stand out as this would make us more likely to be a target.
    However, for the average civilian I don’t think this matters much considering I always see people wearing tactical gear back in the states and most people don’t care about it.

      Yes, if no one is carrying a backpack just having one will get you profiled. Absolutely. That’s why I keep one in my vehicle, office, home, etc. ready to go. People carry backpacks when the situation requires it, so carrying a backpack when you need one will be normal. Busy city streets, gym, coffee shops, airports, busses, taxis, train stations and public transport… even offices and job sites. They all have people carrying backpacks. And unless you’re on a uniformed military op or in the woods with no one around… a MOLLE backpack will be one of the worst options 👊🏼

    Greg, Everything you said about Molle backpacks is absolutely true, [but] I have to admit I am “that guy”. Now with that said let me explain. I have three molle backpacks and they all do a different duty. One goes from my house to the car and stays no further way from me than a chair in my house, the backseat of my Subaru or my hotel room. I have a ton of things on the exterior of my EDC molle bag; e.g. hard sunglass case, IFAK & tourniquet, S-hooks, carabiners, gloves and anything that I may need easily.
    My range molle bag carries everything that I will need for whatever range trip I am doing. I much prefer a backpack over the standard range bag. It is one less thing I have to carry in my hands. Furthermore, it is larger than most standard range bags.
    My travel molle bag is one of my carryons when I fly and you would notice it immediately. It is loaded with enough clothes and other essentials so that I can complete my trip even if my check luggage doesn’t make it. My travel molle bag is Camo patterned, but the thing that screams tacticool more than my backpack is my ball cap, with its Velcro patch on the front, Camo pattern and BrimIt clips. One BrimIt clip is Molon Labe and the other is the Sig logo. If you saw me in the airport, you would probably roll your eyes and think to yourself, “What a dork.” Then you would immediately dismiss me and start scanning for someone who your spidey sense indicates may be a threat. What is the old adage, “What is better hidden than what is in plain sight.”
    Now let’s talk about you. You would set off my spidey sense so quickly it would make my head spin. You could carry the most indescript backpack, wear a button down dress shirt and khaki pants, and you would still scream “operator” to anyone familiar with your business. Now if you wore loafers with no socks, you just “might” make me discount you 😂, but probably not. Thanks for making these videos. I do find them very interesting. While I have never been an operator or in combat, I am very aware of the things that can indicate, “shoot me first.”

      I like that you mentioned 'big bag'. Other than somewhere like an airport, anyone carrying a big or full backpack is going to stand out, regardless of the style of pack.
      Where I live, molle style packs are used by school kids, gym goers and mums at the park, so are quite commonly seen.
      Around here, wearing odd pieces of camo clothing would usually classify a person as being from a lower socio-economic class.

    Whether it’s an enemy of the state, or the state itself, you want to blend in, it’s your advantage, you want to to move between crowds, cities, urban areas and not be singled out as capable.

    I would say the number one reason you should not buy a molle backpack is that you don’t need one. From a practical standpoint, there is no difference between a well constructed “normal” backpack and a molle backpack (and some of them are poorly constructed) other than you can attach molle pouches. And most pouches you would want to attach anyway only add unnecessary bulk to an already bulky object.

    I see what you mean. Wearing a MOLLE even as a civilian prepper/survivalist obviously has a military or law enforcement association (profiling) whether it is intentional or unintentional. Meaning that you risk becoming easily targeted by the country’s opposing forces or hostile groups. It could also make you stand out in civilian settings, raise your perceived value, and make people form assumptions about its contents. So, it’s probably best to avoid any unnecessary attention to lower your risks of being singled out. Some people imagine the typical survival scenario of being stranded by themselves in the wilderness where your appearance doesn’t matter, but that’s not the only scenario that can happen.

    Even Japan love different backpacks with molle for hiking, camping and outdoors. Not everyone goes out and looks for “where are the military and law enforcement” when looking at bags.
    Also there’s military bags without molle that can utilize just buckles and straps or just zippers.
    Molle is generally adopted in backpackers because you can do more with less.

      Anyone who open carries a pistol has little to no real tactical knowledge of solo operations. Common sense is all you need to know that the element of surprise is your biggest advantage in many situations, followed by being able to act instead of react. You literally take yourself out of the fight by open, carrying if you are alone, or even in a small man team, when you don’t have to open carry, or when you can maintain the element of surprise. Again, extremely basic common sense stuff here, and anyone who would argue these points does not have the ability to implement tactics or subterfuge.

      So many people have such a hard time with this concept! It makes it worse that they’ve invested in gear that’s not helpful to them! Rather than admit that they were wrong and do better they prefer to defend their position even after they’ve noticed they were wrong and seen the better way. It hard for us to admit we’ve wasted money and been doing it wrong sometimes!

    gray man is superior to tactical in most civilian situations. also, use what you got when in an emergency. no one will question a tactical pack after an major earthquake.

    Grayman theory is truly relevant. Ask any Iraqi Insurgent, Afghani Insurgent, whomever fights wars like this. Gorilla Tactics and Grayman, 1000%. Those guys took on the US military in near full force for decades. I fought in Iraq twice. I would know. People should really be looking into Grayman Theory. If you want to survive, this is how you do it. I was always told this, "To beat the devil, it is terribly important you give him no advance notice." If anyone thinks Grayman is not plausible, then they have another thing coming. Grayman is entirely plausible, and I have personally dealt with it. We'll put it this way. While I was in Iraq, during my first tour, I was tasked with a rotation at an outpost. Some knucklehead called over the radio about a possible car bomb. Here was the description he gave. "Iraqi male, long beard, wearing white garb, traveling in a white car with orange corner panels." The rest of the units in the area said, "You literally just described every-single-taxi driver in Iraq. Good job!" 😂

    Like you pointed out profiling. Too many folks dont take that into consideration. Maybe they just wanna look cool in front of others but if ur getting stuff for an actually real situation, you dont want to look like ur geared. U may think ur big & bad & no one will mess with you but its the opposite, ur a bigger target now bc u got nice things man.

    Valid however everything is mission dependent. In a wilderness survival setting where I’m trying to evade whoever, I’m taking the molle back pack due to how much easier it will be to conceal because of all the anchor points. You can stuff the molle with vegetation, tie down camo netting, or even both if you got the time. You are 100% right though when it comes down to urban evasion especially through checkpoints. You want to blend in with the general population as much as humanly possible. At the end of the day, so long as you have situational awareness, you might be alright.

    So much space can be saved attaching things like towels, water bottles, rain ponchos to the outside, also makes them very easy to access.
    Also why am I worried about getting attacked? 99.9999% just want to go on with their own day peacefully. You make it sound like as soon as you get off any plane you are going to be a target.

    • @BoneTactical
      @BoneTactical  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should probably be a lot more worried about being unsuccessful in your daily endeavors because you look like a crazy person with all kinds of crap attached to your backpack and then, if you do ever get in any kind of a situation where you need to be Tactical, all of the same crap attached to your backpack will get you stuck and held up, which could also cost you your life in a combat situation

  • @SkipWinters1982
    @SkipWinters1982 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree with hanging s*** on the outside of your backpack is stupid, the purpose of having a backpack is to put things inside. In a straight-up combat situation I can see the advantage but not in your everyday carry

    I'm just gonna throw my opinion in for the fun of it, but i think they are cool bags and if you had a black one u may not standard out as much but in a shtf situation anyone with a backpack would draw attention, anyone in camo would draw attention, reason 1 to own a molle bag is it's good for camping, you can attach a bundle of small sticks or twigs to help start a fire, you can carry an axe or machete, you can attach canteen water bottles, pouches if u run out of room, hiking poles, jackets, sleeping bags or whatever u need
