Dean Martin was my Dad's TOP favourite singer and actor and Tony Danza is mine! Tony is an extremely versatile actor and he is a very talented musician too - nobody plays the ukulele better than Tony. Can somebody pse tell me approximately what year this was done? Thank you.
This was a tribute show for Sammy Davis driven by Gregory Hines (who I miss terribly). It came shortly after the movie "Tap" that featured many of the legends of the tap world. Maybe 1994?
Tony Danza must be in heaven dancing on the same stage as Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis. Must have been shaking like a leaf too! Pure courage! Danza may have been living out Gene Kelly's theory of dance growing out of the movements of sports like football, basketball and boxing. So as a former boxer who learned to take footwork seriously, I can see why Danza found a connection in tap! Long live courage, long live tap!
I found this video after watching a rerun of Taxi! Marilu Henner and company are singing and dancing to “Lullaby of Broadway. Tony Danza enjoyed the experience and signed up for a tap dance class.
Just a little bit sad seeing an aged Dean Martin...but that of course happens to all of us...always prefer seeing Dino in his prime...quite simply there was never a better nightclub entertainer before or since....
My grandmother taught tap dance. She had her own studio and everything. She used to try to get us to try but me and my brother weren't interested. I wish I would have listened and learned it.
Damm
I crushed on Tony like nobody’s business back in the day..

LOVE TONY !!!!
I love Tony Danza. He's so diverse in his talents. And so down to earth.
I met him briefly once. Very gracious man and yes, very down to Earth.
Tony like Eddie Mecca last of the old school actors that can sing dance and act.
I loved how Gen-Xer greats such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston & Eddie Murphy, were completely humble with much respect!
Good show, Tony!

The very ending statement was from a song called "When the Lights Go out again" ....it from ....Dick Todd ....in like 1942.....
