We took the seashore this past July after making a jump from Carnival. We throughly enjoyed our time with MSC and will cruise again. We had great service from our room attendant through the staff at the main dining room and all of our bartenders. The food was good, drinks were good, Hola!! was great!! We will sail again with them. Thanks for this video both of you, it was a good run down of all the pros and cons.
Last week was my first cruise with MSC. I have to say the experience was a great one for me. I understand the different standpoints presented in this video, but each person will experience things differently. From my standpoint, service was amazing. The crew was extremely kind and attentive to detail. The food was in some instances great, in others not so great, but I definitely believe you will find something that you like, especially in the buffet which has several options to offer. Ocean Cay ( MSC’s private Island) is beautiful. Being that this is an European ship, it makes sense that most of the crew will be also. I’m more on their style side so I don’t really mind them not talking as much as the crew in american cruises would. I thought they were very polite. I definitely would and am planning on getting another cruise with MSC and select this cruise line over american ones. That’s just my outlook. Yet, anyone new to MSC needs to try it and find out for themselves if they like it or else. Given the pricing for this cruises, I don’t think there’s anything to loose and I certainly believe you receive the value for your money.
You always have to remember that MSC is a European cruise company and there are a lot of differences between Europeans and Americans, we Europeans don't expect very much and want to talk to the crew as little as possible because our English isn't the best either, that's why I don't think there is much interaction between crew and guests either. and the shows on the WORLD EUROPA and EURIBIA are really good and can compete with other cruise shows
That’s very true! It’s a very different experience from other cruise lines, so if you know what to expect before hand you can set your expectations. Definitely looking forward to seeing what they do with the shows on World America.
MSC is a great value, and I don’t know if they still do opera or not, but when I looked into it, and got to understand what was going on, I actually enjoyed the show and thought it was quite funny and musical.. Also, one time on our voyage, we were affected by a coming hurricane, and they kept us out for an extra week, and we went to another port out of the way, and there was no extra charge, along with they did everything they could to accommodate people if they needed to get off. Great experience!
First cruise on MSC was last week and I'm sold, you'll never get everything perfect but I agree with you on a lot of your points. Bartenders are a bit not so friendly not interactive but polite. The food was tolerable not the best and the entertainment can improve as well. Disembarking was great easy and seamless. They don't ruin your vacation announcing Disembarkation processes 2 days before you disembark.
I went in January. Exactly what all the conplaints said. And the workers stuck on the island were rude. This mad me not even want to go on cruises anymore. And i had a good time on Royal.
It was with a little trepidation that we approached our recent transatlantic out of Miami on Divina. Having cruised extensively over the past 20 years on all of the major cruise lines we were stunned at just how good the experience was. The food was at least as good as Princess or Celebrity. The service was really good, especially in the bars where we never waited more than 1 minute for a drink throughout the entire 3 week cruise. Unlike you, we found the staff to be friendly and engaging. I don't need the artificial in your face overly engaging relationships with the crew that other seem to need. We will definitely cruise with MSC again, perhaps even in Yacht Club next time.
The Davina was our first MSC cruise as well and we had a fabulous time on it. We felt the food and service were the best of any of the MSC ships we’ve been on to date, the entertainment was good also.

Your review sounds exactly word for word like our review of the Divina in Dec. 2017. In your opinion should we take this cruise or stop being cheap and spring for bigger and better with RC?
I’m always a big fan of trying new cruise lines just because they each offer different experiences and you can find one that best fits what you enjoy. Royal Caribbean has a lot to offer and some really great ships, activities, entertainment and food options so if they are something that looks interesting to you it’s absolutely worth trying, I have found the service is usually better than MSC. However MSC is one of the best values out there so sometimes that’s hard to beat 😆

Agree, very nice ships also because they are new. Sailed with them twice (Meraviglia/Seascape). Food, entertainment and security/cruiser discipline needs work. Their pricing right now is attractive. However heard recently from someone that the food is improving. Perhaps a learning curve for them. Will watch.
I agree 100% about the cruiser discipline it can definitely get out of hand. I hope they do continue to improve the food, they had a survey going on in the buffet about ways they can improve the food so it seems they are aware it’s not the best.
My wife and I have sailed on meraviglia two times are booked on seaside yacht club in February then world America Feb 2026. We love MSC and have sworn off other lines. The bar critique is spot on! I drink beam and coke and have gone 2 days of them saying it's being stocked. They try to give me cheap Canadian whiskey instead. Swill!!! We love the food and portion size.
Yeah the bars are kinda hit or miss, even the YC bar that we loved ran out of things about mid way through and ran out of glasses almost daily lol still an amazing value for the price though!
In my experience all is good until u have a acedent I fell on there stairs I am 82 they could not wait to get me off the ship they put me in a taxi in francs in my nightdress never asked me if I had pssport money then sent me too the wrong hospital they lost my iPad and refused any companashen I would never cruise with them again if they paid me .

Wow we haven’t been to MSCs island in a few years but it’s unfortunate to hear the workers were rude.

200 bucks for the steak house? I don't consider that a good deal. Carnival steak house is half that price for 2 and excellent quality
