Hey, Guokong here with the Yukong guide. How have you been building her?! She's sooo complex for a 4 star. Infographic: twitter.com/guobacertified/status/1674901351078273024?s=20
i kinda want to try memories of the past with 4 pc Thief set+inert Salsotto as dps, debating about speed boots or att boots, have her at e3 rn Want to use her on same comp as u posted for clara, i was using that comp early and it was great
I love how the baseline for damage comparsions is “1 Seele E” 😂😂😂 its so hilarious but also a solid way to compare non dps chars potential. I think in the Goubcha vid you said it takes him 12 turns so Yukong literally does 3x more damage than Lou. Very cool
I really like Sushang as an honorable mention for sub dps on Yukong teams because she can be skill point neutral at e1 against broken enemies. She also can utilize the roaring bowstring stacks both for herself by using Yukong skill/ ult-> sushang basic or skill -> sushang ult -> sushang skill because she forwards her action by 100%. I’ve also been loving Yukong with QQ, but managing skill points with those two on the same team is a lot of work. My favorite Yukong comps atm: Luocha, yukong, silver wolf, QQ Luocha, Yukong, Sushang, Jing Yuan Luocha, Yukong, Tingyun, Jing Yuan (although asta is more consistent than Yukong on this team)
Problem with her is, you need to speedtune all 4 characters in a team. Even then you can't use her in another team without speedtuning again. Unless you are a whale the resource sink isn't justifiable. F2Ps/lowspenders should prioritize more universally useful characters first.
I think a breaker build is fine if you don’t have any imaginary DPS. That is the only F2P value for her. Having two DPS on one team isn’t realistic since you want a preserver of some kind as well. Turn manipulation can be fine depending on how lucky you are with relics and how you built other characters (along with tricks like how more to the left placed characters tend to act first with the same SPD). If you have characters that act outside their turn it’ll be fine but since this is Gacha it all depends on what you got. If you have Welt her imaginary isn’t really that great and as a buffer Tingyun is simply more consistent (plus saves more SP). There’s a misconception that she’s SP negative but her play style is breaking/buffing, not a pure buffer like Tingyun. It’s situational whether you’ll actually want her on or not. Welt is surprisingly Crit based too so she can make him better.
@usmansubhani7482 She seems very situational to me, any enemy/MoC mechanic that screws up the turn order will punish her heavily. But her buffs are massive when they work.
@@scor4044 Guess it really depends if you need a buffer/breaker of imaginary type on your team. If not, she’s simply a good choice for when you’ve invested enough in your current roster and wanted more options. Since she’s free anyway in 1.2 there will always be that option on the table.
Please make updated guide for Yukong now that DanIL is out nd we got some new relic and planar set. I'm thinking of building her, but still on the fence about it.
I know it’s been 2 months since your comment, but she is totally worth it! She is providing HUGE buffs to baby boy Dan Heng IL. Mono-Imaginary in the chat 😅
@@archie.archer I built her, but I ended up benching her now. She needs to skill every time because her buff doesn't last that long, so she is kinda bad for DHIL that needs a lot of SP. I never have enough SP with her on my DHIL team. Sometimes it becomes worse when the enemy has attacks that lower speed, ruining her speed tuning. Maybe Sparkle can work to fix the SP issue, so I guess we'll see.
Just going to leave this here incase it ever becomes relevant or useful. Yukong has a bizarre mechanic/interaction with her Ultimate and Skill that doesn't come up in most normal circumstances but can be seen fairly easily with a fast Yukong in multiwave fights like Calyxs and caverns. Yukong's ultimate does this really funky thing where instead of creating its own buff, it modifies the already existant Roaring Bowstrings buff and adds its own crit rate and damage bonuses to it - which functions normally and is perfectly sensible most of the time, but if Yukong winds up acting during her own buff (say because the wave ended with 1 stack remaining and Yukong is the fastest party member), if she uses her Skill again she will extend the duration of the Roaring Bowstrings that already exists - and if the preexisting Roaring Bowstrings was modified by her Ultimate, that modification will also be extended. Currently, this only has one use in normal battles - if Yukong is E6 and has full energy, she can use her Ultimate BEFORE acting on her own turn and still grant the crit bonuses to her allies, allowing her to bank the energy from using her Skill towards her next Ultimate, although I don't know if this can be used to make any useful new rotations for her (Before anyone asks, the Simulated Universe has numerous ways for her to use her Ultimate mutiple times in the same Roaring Bowstrings, and no, that does not stack the crit bonuses).
I rarely comment, but your guides have been super helpful! You are my main content creator for star rail meta guides atm, I love your considerate stance on f2p vs gacha. Your videos are really timely and quick - but please don’t work yourself too hard, and take breaks! Thank you Guoba for your hard work!
I found something more interesting building my Yukong: 4pcs Hackerspace and 2 Glamoth ornaments, an optimal way to both speedy support type and Yukong damage bonus from ornaments "via speed%" altogether. It's just my experiment but it works well! 😁
Speed tuning or not, I’m a bit too resource poor to worry about relics at the moment. But I do appreciate a concise guide like this. Everything has been about Luocha at the start of this patch, and I lost that 50/50, so I’m putting all I have into Yukong.
if you ask me, then Seele is also a viable DPS for Yukong...funnily enought, Seele can really abuse yukongs skill mechanic as if she gets a kill during her turn, her extra attacks won't use up yukongs stacks. Now since you can technically chain Seele ult into Yukong turn even though Seele's turn would be after Yukong, you could theoretically chain in up to at least 6 Seele attacks (ult inclueded ofc) that can abuse her buff (provided her extra attacks secure a takedown to trigger Seele passives)
What you have mentioned is something that Seele does with every buffer and not just specifically with yukong. On top of that Seele is so fast that she usually has 2 turns in 1 turn. With other buffers Seele has the buff both times in the turn. With yukong only the first time and the second time Seele takes her turn she doesn't.
@@janberger4292 that doesn't Change anything. If Seele takes Turn after yukong and uses 1 stack by the time Seele gets the second turn in the same turn is when the second stack is gone. So yukong can only buff Seele once.
You mentioned Arlan and after playing the new event (admittedly his best case scenario), I gotta feel like he's going to become a more and more important character in the near future of the game especially as more units are added to the game that buff Dual DPS setups. I'm not sure if you're looking to do a deep-dive into Arlan in the near future but he's near the top of my list for characters I'm interested in seeing fully explored at some point.
When you wait for Firefly, farmed 243 tickets and all resources for her and now want to build a different character while being a Welt enthusiast, you end up here 11 months late. Great video!
My interpretation of Yukongs E6 was to spread out the bowstrings buff to additional characters. For example, Yukong Skill > 1st DPS Skill > Yukong Ult > 2 stacks remain for sub DPS and Luocha
Since bowstrings doesnt give the crit rate and damage until after she ults, you dont want to extend for a sub, tank or healer, especially if the main dps goes right after her. The e6 loosens up the speed tuning so no matter where she is in the turn order you can make sure the main dps gets at least one turn with full buff. It also allows her to jump in right before someone with a single stack if the order gets jumbled due to cc.
Oh wtf 😮 you commented in my channel in my last Serval video 😭😭😭 hahaha it was you, It's a big honor because I ❤ your videos your job is amazing thanks for the information and greetings from Spain see U 🖐️
I'm definitely going the slow sub dps route for Yukong. I use Sushang and Seele so it's easier to have a slow yukong. There are so many times when my dps overtakes my Tingyun because they're just so much faster due to their kit edit: just got Yukong and been putting her last in my team rotation. it works really well and i don't have to worry about my dps characters gaining too much speed. the only problem with it is if you get hit by an enemy that slows you, it messes up the whole rotation
i love how you mentioned SP efficient/dual carry--my plan was running yukong with blade and a certain leaked ice character, and seeing how that goes with luocha as my solo sustain. if that doesn't work/feel great however, i'll have to save her for the welt hypercarry team lol
One thing of note, if you build Tingyun right she doesnt get any benefit from using her skill during roaring bowstrings. Even if you use speed boots and er rope Tingyun can easily get all the attack she needs without any outside buffs to hit the cap on her skill for any hypercarry, give or take about 10 attack depending on your substats.
Nice guide as usual! ^_^ Yeah, I was not too convinced about building her to begin with and after watching the video she is definitely not high priority =P
Thanks for your insights. I'm probably going to hold off on building her until I have a solid dual-dps setup built that I could tune around, if I'm gonna put in the work to get her to fit in a party, I may as well get the full benefit of multiple damage ults and ideally use both of her buff turns on characters with actual output.
so i've been effectivley using yukong to buff all my units. ive been running slow yukong with clara(with enough speed to be just faster than yukong) and 2 units faster than clara
Thanks. Great vid and info! I don't have Seele and jingyuan but got her e5 (e6 when 1.2 comes out). Burned out most of my jades trying to get dupes for QQ and I can't wait try my team after they're built. Yukong/silverwolf/QQ/Luocha.
Well you convinced me to build her. My new fav team is Clara, Luocha and Seele. I usually bring tingyun to buff Seele but it felt like something was missing. Seeing Yukong now tho, I'll make a hybrid of the 2 options you gave I think, depending on what I have on hand. Also since I've been watching many of your videos recently, I might as well subbed so you're easier to find hehe. Thanks for this.
Coming back to this after all these months, and I have to say I originally got the impression of Yukong as a somewhat difficult to use but extremely rewarding support. And I haven't been able to build her yet since I'm always grinding something with a big backlog, but I stand by that. The more I think about it, the more I think she's pretty competitive and quite underrated for what she can bring to the table and for how easy it would be to bring it all. I think there's gross misconceptions about how difficult she is to speed tune; these days, half of the meta discussions that I see for characters like Bronya, Ratio, or Black Swan already going to detail about how to best and optimally speed tune them, so it's already something on people's minds about most characters. And the idea that Yukong needs any more special treatment than anyone else is ridiculous--she literally just has to be faster than your DPS, and this is more than forgiving enough to even let your DPS character go third after her. As long as they aren't last, she works. I think she can bring a lot of insane buffs to teams and despite this, I believe she gets overlooked quite a bit because of the perceived difficulty in using her. I'm not sure how I would show this, even when I eventually and inevitably build her. But I really want to, I want to maybe make a video or do something to showcase her potential once I figure it out myself. Especially now that Ratio has hit and been given to everybody for free, since he can benefit from her wearing the Penacony set.
Wouldn't a second dps unit be overall better than Tingyun in the Clara, Luocha, Yukong team? As you said Yukong is very good at buffing multiple characters at once and the Clara/Luocha combo needs almost no skill points to work. So even if Clara ends up needing an ERR rope for burst uptime consistency wouldn't it still be worth it having another damage dealer making use of the buffs and skill points?
@@guobacertified Why wouldn't ERR rope be good? Does it have anything to do with ER break points? I just thought that with the amount of atk% she gains from physical set + Yukong buff + fall of Aeon S5 losing the atk% rope wouldn't be a big problem.
Really nice breakdown of build options. The step-by-step approach helped me shake off a lot of the analysis paralysis other build guides have been giving me. Question though: I decided after the first viewing that slow SP-neutral sub-DPS is the build I want. Here are the requirements you showed for each of these aspects: - Sub-DPS: Cogs/Memories + ATK/BE Rope - SP-Neutral: Cogs/ERR Rope Basically, for my combination I can't actually use Memories, because my rope selection can't meet both sets of requirements on its own. I have to use Cogs, so that the SP-neutral needs are met, and I can still choose an ATK or BE rope to then cover the sub-DPS needs. Sorry it's a long question, but would you say this is correct?
Would like to hear your opinion regarding : i would like to pair yukong and sparkle for DHIL team with one sustainer.. yukong spd 162 LC planetary, sparkle spd 161 LC bronya.. both with ERR rope.. Question : 1. Will it be great and smooth rotation as yukong will always move before sparkle? 2. yukong A6, is it necessary? If not, I am not gonna activate it Thanks
So I just got her E6 through the event and I'm a bit confused about how it works specifically with Jing Yuan. I thought with her E6 I could just use her ult right before Lightning Lord, and then the buff would persist until the next ally after LL ends their turn. But this doesn't seem to be the case. Instead, the buff only appears for a split second after her ult and then gets immediately removed, before LL hits, which means her ult is completely wasted. For example, if Tingyun is before LL, I'd TY basic -> YK ult -> LL, which results in LL *not* getting the YK buff. Of course all this is assuming I didn't use YK skill. My best guess is that the game thinks it's still TY's turn during YK's ult, so the buff is removed because the game thinks TY spent it, even though it was activated *after* her basic attack. Visually, TY is already at the bottom of the turn order during YK's ult, so if this guess is correct it seems like a bug to me. Can anyone confirm my theory, or is there some other explanation for this?
@@guobacertified Thanks! I might try my luck submitting a bug report. Would be disappointing if it's intended because it basically makes her E6 useless in Jing Yuan teams.
Thanks for the guide guokong! I'm a clara and qingque enjoyer and she sounds great with both so I'll definitely build her! In my eyes the luocha banner looks insane as you can literally just put all 4 units into 1 team and it would work very well
I feel like Yukong could have a lot of value as a single dps buffer as long as you are running her as an imaginary sub DPS or breaker role for that additional benefit. She is unique as a buffer as far as being able to dish out lots of damage, I don’t think she’s meant to be pure support by design, personally.
im using her with sw qq and luocha rn.Its fun to use since my qq basically oblitrated everything with her 1 turn buff.i have no idea why ppl telling she is bad when they can't fully utilizin her kit.i liked complex character playstyle and yukong fits to my liking.Planning to build her around danheng inhibitor in future so she worth investment for my lineup.
what substats would you aim for on your relics as subdps? right now i'm just taking any piece with the right primary stat as long as it doesn't come with effect hit rate since for some reason my Yukong just keeps getting prioritized over clara by enemies
im for sure planning on building a slow yukong to pair with the clara i lucked into today (im so happy) though I can't figure out what to pair with them. I can't afford to try get luocha because I don't wanna risk missing kafka. I was thinking march and natasha (bailu being held for my kafka team) but I worry that the damage miiight not be that crazy
I plan to use my Yukong in the slow play style with my Clara and Luocha. I only have enough resoueces to invest in one other main dps right now and my options are e2 Dan Heng. I feel like Jing Yuan would be better because lightning lord would provide more healing with the flower field and would occasionally be able to squeeze more damage while Yukong has her bowstrings up but since Clara is already so aoe oriented it might be more beneficial to have Dan Heng being able to do reliable single target damage and being able to take advantage of imaginaries weakness break with his traces. Or should I just scrap that all together and do clara, luocha, jing or dan and asta?
Inert doesnt just boost follow ups. The damage is higher with inert, and slow yukong cant use SSS unless you get her to 120 and the rest of your team higher
@@guobacertified Ah ok! That's perfect then, I have a Imiginary sphere laying around with a ERR link of Inert, I'll slap 2 piece thief and Musketeer for a solid sub-dps/breaker build. I've checked multiple guides on Yukong and yours is easily the most complete one. Cheers!
I'm intrigued with her E1. If she buffs herself with speed and managed to get to 134 above, she will have two turns in cycle 0. But once the speed buff expires and goes back to 121 speed, does that mean she can get two turns again in cycle 1? Would anyone be able to test this? This seems good in practice.
@@guobacertified Yeah, I tested it myself and found it's not possible. Now I'm not sure if I should keep farming for speed boots, either to speed up Luocha since he's at 126 speed or slow down Yukong, but I don't have extra speed boots, even at 4*. What I don't understand is why Yukong always goes ahead of Luocha despite having 136 speed for both and Luocha being ahead on him in party order when buffed by her E1.
i wonder... Would Yukon work for Yunli as well? Sure right now i'm using tingyun but i am open to swapping her out for Yukon honestly... Then i can use her with HuoHuo in my Himeko+Herta Pure fiction team. Oh and Yukon would buff up my March 7th hunt right? I think i might be unto something here
In the Clara/Yukong example, is it important for Clara to be slower than Yukong but still faster than the enemies? I have Clara at 90 speed so sometimes she might not be able to have her counters up while the enemy attacks
Clara still wants to be before enemies yeah, its difficult sometimes since some can go super fast. But yukong having her buff on Clara should be decent, i will do a full clara analysis soon
What are your thoughts on Qingque and Yukong both on Spd boots and reaching break points with 2 SP positive team mates? Love your content guoba although you still can't hit torches on genshin lol
@@guobacertified ...i give up lol! I was using luocha, tingyun, Yukong and DHIL. My yukong speed is faster than DHIL but sometimes DHIL goes first for like 2 turns, then its back to correct order. Luocha LC does some speed change...tingyun dance dance dance also has some speed changes. Omg its a speed mess LOL.
I always f up her ult buff cause I dont get how it works at first... cause I use her skill and ult then Tingyun and Bronya. By the time its Jing Yuan turn to ult, Yukong buff is gone (it was a showcase, u need to be fast) I put 4pcs atk 2pcs hp ornament on her
Hi, I noticed that the provided cc in your video doesn't quite match with what you said timing wise. English is not my native language, so I rely on cc a lot. I just want to let you know in case this is caused by youtube or other software.
I love your guides, I get to know so much about the characters with much ease. They are amazingly made, your avatar is always cute and everything is overall much more appealing to me than other creators guides. Thank you for your work and good luck in the future! I thought I would just leave her as she is as I already have built (could have been much better as some of them still use 3* relics and I am level 62) Tingyun, Asta and E6 Pela but because she is so useful according to you and I kinda need an imaginary unit who isnt Luocha, AND I will be skipping whole patch 1.3. definitely and possibly 1.4. I feel like building more characters rather than focusing on micro upgrades for my Jing Yuan or Sushang (my main dps)
I accidentally got e6 yukong so i just built her and shes kinda insane shes my fastest in my team and my second fastest is jingliu and i have her signature lightcone so the next person to take action after her skill deals 20% extra damage so my jingliu basically constantly has a 40% damage buff
You reckon Blade from CBT2 will be better with a Sus Pela or Sus Yukong? I've already committed too much resource to back away from Sus and Pela, but I'm wondering if I should consider Yukong in the future as I'm a Blade enjoyer.
Hi Guoba, I've just discovered your channel and I must say that you're probably one of the best guide makers out there for Honkai Star rail! The other day I tried to get as many eidolons as possible for the Mahjong gremlin and ended up having 4 Pelas, one Yukong and 2 Luochas, but only one QQ 😢. So I've been thinking about a team comp but I'm not sure if it would be viable at all. It consists of : -QQ as the main dmg dealer : BP LC, 4 piece quantum set + inert salsotto planetary ornament -SilverWolf as a sub dmg dealer : Tutorial mission LC, 4 piece quantum set + the planetary ornament that gives ernergy recharge (I forgot the name) -Luocha as... well Luocha : Quid pro quo LC, 4 piece musketeer + Ageless planetary ornament -Yukong as another sub dmg dealer : Coggers LC, 2 piece musketeer / 2 piece imaginary set + inert salsotto planetary ornament. With this team I would speedtune the characters like this : SilverWolf > Luocha > Yukong > QQ. This way, when Yukong activates her skill, QQ and SilverWolf would benefit from the atk buff to deal Qingzillions dmg. SilverWolf and Luocha are naturally very fast while QQ is pretty slow so the speedtuning wouldn't be too painful. I think this could be viable if I time the skill when I have a good hand for QQ + when Silver's burst is ready. You get a lot of Atk buffs from Luocha's field thanks to E1, Yukong's skill as well as a bunch of crit buffs, it would go well with QQ's own selfbuffs when it's time to spam her skill. What do you think? Would this team actually work or am I bad at teammaking? Anyway, love your content, if I may suggest a guide: I'd love to get one for Jing Yuan. I wish you a good day/night!
Thanks! Your team sounds great and the dual imaginary/quantum teams are awesome due to how weaknesses work, all enemies with imaginary weakness have no quantum weakness and vice versa except like one summoned enemy. Try it out and see! I released a jing yuan pre release guide that still holds up :) but an updated one will eventually come and I have an infographic on him
@@guobacertified Oh great, I've also thought this team had potential since, as you've said, most ennemies have a quantum or imaginary weakness. And my bad for Jing Yuan, I didn't see your video while looking at your channel. Thanks for the quick and detailed answer!
I just nearly binged all your HSR videos today 😂😭. She was honestly the character I’ve been most excited for along with Loucha. I lucked with welt as my first 5*. IWintoLose Gaming has pretty interesting video evidence on how her buffs handles “turns” for anyone that needs more clarity (she does some interesting buffs? to Seele for anyone interested) Guoba your guide is much more informational and I stand by my statement in the first comment I said I subscribed in: Your videos are the best dude. I look forward to your content my friend.
Its not Yukong itself problematic but the Relic does. We got no Relic that give full Energy Recharge bonus except that 2 piece from SU. So the 130 energy cost become a burden.
Yukong's technique is so weird sometimes. At times, I get the 2 stacks of her buff even after switching characters before entering battle, but at other times it doesn't work. I'm not sure if there's some sort of bug with her technique or if it's an actual intended workaround to get her buffs at the start while using someone else's offensive technique.
Yukong's buffs are nothing to laugh it but the painful thing is just speed tuning. Shes pretty strong buffer for the team and one of the few imaginary characters but u really need every member to be perfect one wrong miscalculation can be the difference between buffing your dps and buffing your healer. Maybe when more imaginary units come out she'll be more viable but she still puts in work in a single dps comp but other harmony units just seem easier to slot in than Yukong sadly
hi! i'm a little confused about what do choose for boots if she's in a clara main-dps team. does anybody have any suggestions? (tysm for the thorough video!)
I'm thinking of building her as a slow sub dps focused on Break Effect. Since she's imaginary and has that insane toughtness break value, doesnt that mean that she easily be the best control unit and a buffer? You can put Memories of the Past to boost break effect AND get additional Energy as a compensation for her being slow.
@@guobacertified Interesting, I could swear I was noticing lately some chars running faster than others, so was wondering if it was their speed affecting it. Maybe it's just the animation making it look faster.
Thanks for the guide! Interesting, so slow Yukong would not be able to take advantage of the party-wide atk buff unless she has tons of speed substats, is that correct?
Slow yukong and fast yukong both cant abuse the attack wide buff until they skill into ultimate, as the skill either way will be consumed by allies before her next turn
I'm trying to make the Slow Yukong into Slow Clara work and ironically Tingyun is being my biggest hindrance to it working because she's too damn fast so she's getting an extra turn in between Clara and Yukong because of her 20% speed boost after using her skill lmao. Speed tuning in this game is rough with the speed boosts to account for x.x
I play yukong, silverwolf, seele, luocha in that speed order. Works perfect for me. Edit: because of SW and only 2 elements, it works perfect for every fight i did so far.
Great video as usual. I have a question though. For auto-skill- auto-skill rotation is e2 not enough without cogs and without energy rope to get ult back (7+20+36+20+36+15) = 134 Energy It does require everyone to get there ult back on time but that does not seem too unrealistic.
I got rlly lucky getting her and luocha in the same pull and seeing how much healing luocha provided I thought it would be better for me to go 2 supports 1 healer and a dps which for me is jing. The only tragic thing about it is that it’s kinda weird trying to get her buff right before the lightning lord attacks.

Dont worry I take plenty of breaks :) Thanks though, and im glad i can help
Then make her the slowest to buff the fastest. If everyone is 130+ then she sits on 130 and go xD
@@janberger4292 that doesn't Change anything. If Seele takes Turn after yukong and uses 1 stack by the time Seele gets the second turn in the same turn is when the second stack is gone. So yukong can only buff Seele once.
She will require a bit of planning for optimal use but the potential benefits to team damage are pretty solid. Great guide Guoba.
True. Thanks kaz!
I HAVE A GUIDE ON HIM :')
When you wait for Firefly, farmed 243 tickets and all resources for her and now want to build a different character while being a Welt enthusiast, you end up here 11 months late. Great video!
i can't even justify building her any time soon but i'm here for my dailly dose of guoba
Thanks for coming along
Guides are always so on point. Thanks guoba
Thanks! :)
@@wikidpsycokilla oh you're right. Thanks
Oh wtf 😮 you commented in my channel in my last Serval video 😭😭😭 hahaha it was you, It's a big honor because I ❤ your videos your job is amazing thanks for the information and greetings from Spain see U 🖐️
Hehe, thanks ikatsu
I'm definitely going the slow sub dps route for Yukong. I use Sushang and Seele so it's easier to have a slow yukong. There are so many times when my dps overtakes my Tingyun because they're just so much faster due to their kit
edit: just got Yukong and been putting her last in my team rotation. it works really well and i don't have to worry about my dps characters gaining too much speed. the only problem with it is if you get hit by an enemy that slows you, it messes up the whole rotation
Glad it works! And yeah DPS cc's or slows can ruin it
i love how you mentioned SP efficient/dual carry--my plan was running yukong with blade and a certain leaked ice character, and seeing how that goes with luocha as my solo sustain.
if that doesn't work/feel great however, i'll have to save her for the welt hypercarry team lol
I think blade will be great with another dps and yukong :)
Meshing Cogs is goated 👑
Coggers
One thing of note, if you build Tingyun right she doesnt get any benefit from using her skill during roaring bowstrings. Even if you use speed boots and er rope Tingyun can easily get all the attack she needs without any outside buffs to hit the cap on her skill for any hypercarry, give or take about 10 attack depending on your substats.
Nice guide as usual! ^_^
Yeah, I was not too convinced about building her to begin with and after watching the video she is definitely not high priority =P
Yea no need to build her right away imo ^^
so i've been effectivley using yukong to buff all my units. ive been running slow yukong with clara(with enough speed to be just faster than yukong) and 2 units faster than clara
awesome isnt it?
So your clara faster than enemies intresting, but i prefer Clara to be the slowest.
man, I REALLY want to use her, but after like a turn my seele gets like 190 speed with E2 and I have no idea how to speed tune this.
that do be her problem doe
Amazing guide! rly informative!!
THANKS
Been waiting for this one, thanks guoba!
NP!
Thanks. Great vid and info! I don't have Seele and jingyuan but got her e5 (e6 when 1.2 comes out). Burned out most of my jades trying to get dupes for QQ and I can't wait try my team after they're built. Yukong/silverwolf/QQ/Luocha.
I'm currently torn between building clara or welt dps. Any advice on which would be more worth investing into?
Both for the coverage tbh but Clara has a better domain to farm
Well you convinced me to build her. My new fav team is Clara, Luocha and Seele. I usually bring tingyun to buff Seele but it felt like something was missing. Seeing Yukong now tho, I'll make a hybrid of the 2 options you gave I think, depending on what I have on hand. Also since I've been watching many of your videos recently, I might as well subbed so you're easier to find hehe. Thanks for this.
Good luck!
and thanks for the sub :)
Yukong guide, you love to see it!
Salt comment, you love to see it
Your videos are getting better!
Thanks :)
I prefer ting for clara energy for her taunt uptime to be safe, but 2nd dps can work. ERR rope on clara i dont think is a good idea
@@guobacertified Why wouldn't ERR rope be good? Does it have anything to do with ER break points? I just thought that with the amount of atk% she gains from physical set + Yukong buff + fall of Aeon S5 losing the atk% rope wouldn't be a big problem.
Guoba we all know the real taunt value of Harmony units Is 2 times the preservation's one, let's address the Elephant in the room
:( true
Hey guoba can you explain why you recommend using guard of wuthering set on her? Thanks for the great guide as always!
If youre going tank and slow yukong, theres no other option except guard that gives benefits
It's been a year, Guoba. Can we use her in 2.5? Is she destined to rot?
Yukong supremacy!
🙏
Thanks!!! Maybe re update welt build?
Maybe
Really nice breakdown of build options. The step-by-step approach helped me shake off a lot of the analysis paralysis other build guides have been giving me. Question though:
I decided after the first viewing that slow SP-neutral sub-DPS is the build I want. Here are the requirements you showed for each of these aspects:
- Sub-DPS: Cogs/Memories + ATK/BE Rope
- SP-Neutral: Cogs/ERR Rope
Basically, for my combination I can't actually use Memories, because my rope selection can't meet both sets of requirements on its own. I have to use Cogs, so that the SP-neutral needs are met, and I can still choose an ATK or BE rope to then cover the sub-DPS needs.
Sorry it's a long question, but would you say this is correct?
Looks correct to me ^^ cogs is the 3* alternative without the BE to memories
For those of us that haven't grinded relics at all/ well enough for good crit rate on main dps units yukong is The Savior™️
TRUE
Would like to hear your opinion regarding :
i would like to pair yukong and sparkle for DHIL team with one sustainer.. yukong spd 162 LC planetary, sparkle spd 161 LC bronya.. both with ERR rope..
Question :
1. Will it be great and smooth rotation as yukong will always move before sparkle?
2. yukong A6, is it necessary? If not, I am not gonna activate it
Thanks
Hm maybe tingyun does consume it. Tricky using it then. I haven’t got e6 so I can’t test for you
@@guobacertified Thanks! I might try my luck submitting a bug report. Would be disappointing if it's intended because it basically makes her E6 useless in Jing Yuan teams.
If you are looking for some Damage per Screenshot, yukong is for you. Pair it with bronya and her LC, your DPS goes crazy…..for 1 turn 😂😂
Thanks for the guide guokong!
I'm a clara and qingque enjoyer and she sounds great with both so I'll definitely build her!
In my eyes the luocha banner looks insane as you can literally just put all 4 units into 1 team and it would work very well
gl with the teams!
I feel like Yukong could have a lot of value as a single dps buffer as long as you are running her as an imaginary sub DPS or breaker role for that additional benefit. She is unique as a buffer as far as being able to dish out lots of damage, I don’t think she’s meant to be pure support by design, personally.
Yep she is pretty versatile ^^ hope we see more uses of her with future units
im using her with sw qq and luocha rn.Its fun to use since my qq basically oblitrated everything with her 1 turn buff.i have no idea why ppl telling she is bad when they can't fully utilizin her kit.i liked complex character playstyle and yukong fits to my liking.Planning to build her around danheng inhibitor in future so she worth investment for my lineup.
QQ STONKS
what substats would you aim for on your relics as subdps? right now i'm just taking any piece with the right primary stat as long as it doesn't come with effect hit rate since for some reason my Yukong just keeps getting prioritized over clara by enemies
It’s in the video, crit atk or spd, and some tank stats
im for sure planning on building a slow yukong to pair with the clara i lucked into today (im so happy)
though I can't figure out what to pair with them. I can't afford to try get luocha because I don't wanna risk missing kafka. I was thinking march and natasha (bailu being held for my kafka team) but I worry that the damage miiight not be that crazy
Grats on Clara! March and natasha work but yea the damage will be lower, and maybe better to use ting?
Clara would provide more healing than Lightning Lord.
Great guide!
I do have a question however, why Inert Salsotto? She doesn't have follow up attack does she?
She cannot
So, just to make sure I understand, if you want to use her with Clara, slow Yukong is a must? And does she need the ERR Rope?
And, I'm not sure I'm following why you don't want ATK% boots when paired with Clara. Or am I misunderstanding?
Yes slow yukong is a must, she needs to go after the first two allies, and ERR rope depends on what youre running as the video says

You reckon Blade from CBT2 will be better with a Sus Pela or Sus Yukong? I've already committed too much resource to back away from Sus and Pela, but I'm wondering if I should consider Yukong in the future as I'm a Blade enjoyer.
The crit buffs are great but i think he'd prefer bronya's dmg% and crit if you can get her one day
Hi Guoba, I've just discovered your channel and I must say that you're probably one of the best guide makers out there for Honkai Star rail! The other day I tried to get as many eidolons as possible for the Mahjong gremlin and ended up having 4 Pelas, one Yukong and 2 Luochas, but only one QQ 😢. So I've been thinking about a team comp but I'm not sure if it would be viable at all. It consists of :
-QQ as the main dmg dealer : BP LC, 4 piece quantum set + inert salsotto planetary ornament
-SilverWolf as a sub dmg dealer : Tutorial mission LC, 4 piece quantum set + the planetary ornament that gives ernergy recharge (I forgot the name)
-Luocha as... well Luocha : Quid pro quo LC, 4 piece musketeer + Ageless planetary ornament
-Yukong as another sub dmg dealer : Coggers LC, 2 piece musketeer / 2 piece imaginary set + inert salsotto planetary ornament.

I just nearly binged all your HSR videos today 😂😭. She was honestly the character I’ve been most excited for along with Loucha. I lucked with welt as my first 5*. Your videos are the best dude. I look forward to your content my friend.
Thanks so much!
I don't have Luocha would Natasha be a good replacement?
I was thinking slow Yukong, Clara/Sushang, Silver Wolf, Natasha
You can try it ^^ she doesnt heal nearly as much though
With her E6 you can basically just use her skill, let it's stack go down by having another character take action and then use her ultimate
yup
Would it be viable to replace the atk% rope on a sub-dps Yukong with an ER% rope? Or would I be losing out on too much damage for it to be worth?
Getting that crits buffs on the entire team plus breaking the toughness on the enemy constantly feels like a nice trade off for her personal damage.
if you go err rope you replace cogs/memories, its up to preference
Its not Yukong itself problematic but the Relic does. We got no Relic that give full Energy Recharge bonus except that 2 piece from SU. So the 130 energy cost become a burden.
she just needs a LC or err rope, so not really, vonwacq doesnt improve anything
Yukong's technique is so weird sometimes. At times, I get the 2 stacks of her buff even after switching characters before entering battle, but at other times it doesn't work. I'm not sure if there's some sort of bug with her technique or if it's an actual intended workaround to get her buffs at the start while using someone else's offensive technique.
i have no idea.. i just saw when i swapped she wouldnt gain anything, and the tooltip says she has to attack, like seele's
She should have the one to attack after technique.
Ye shes too tricky rn :')
hi! i'm a little confused about what do choose for boots if she's in a clara main-dps team. does anybody have any suggestions? (tysm for the thorough video!)
atk% or tank and main DPS still goes first and gets the second buff stack
i just realized that by 'TANK' it means = HP% / DEF% main stat 😅
I have her at E6 and she ult every 2-3 turn. Usually nuke haft of elite boss heath or 1/3 boss in general, she insane if you build her right.
Sounds awesome!
how does her ult buff work? does everyone get the crit damage buff for 1 attack? the skill doesnt specify
It does specify its during the bowstrings so everyone gets it for those two ally turns if she uses it after skill
Yes memories + BE rope is pretty coolz
Great guide. But can we know the Clara/Healer/Ting/Yukong team comp rotation? + How speed should be tuned for optimal play?
Yukong 2nd slowest, clara slowest, rest faster. And you just let Clara carry with buffs
@@guobacertified Thanks a lot 🙏🏻 Now we just need double Calyx event so I/we can level up them Alts faster 🤓

Slow yukong and fast yukong both cant abuse the attack wide buff until they skill into ultimate, as the skill either way will be consumed by allies before her next turn
@@guobacertified I'm sorry, I wasn't clear! I meant the party-wide attack buff from Fleet of Ageless with 120 speed for slow Yukong.

God damnit tingyun :(
I play yukong, silverwolf, seele, luocha in that speed order. Works perfect for me. Edit: because of SW and only 2 elements, it works perfect for every fight i did so far.

Great video as usual. I have a question though. For auto-skill- auto-skill rotation is e2 not enough without cogs and without energy rope to get ult back (7+20+36+20+36+15) = 134 Energy
It does require everyone to get there ult back on time but that does not seem too unrealistic.
Its enough yes, i dont think I claimed otherwise though
Cool thats great cause I cannot seem to pull any more cogs from the banner and my r5 cogs is glued to my asta.
Looking forward to using her with Welt and IL
The subtitles seems to be delayed by about 7 second
I got rlly lucky getting her and luocha in the same pull and seeing how much healing luocha provided I thought it would be better for me to go 2 supports 1 healer and a dps which for me is jing. The only tragic thing about it is that it’s kinda weird trying to get her buff right before the lightning lord attacks.
asta tingyun luocha jy is pretty good ^^
Shes going to be great with my Loucha, Welt and my future Dan Heng IL xD
I have a question. Does Yukong buff buffs Tingyun buff as Tingyun scales on ATK?
If you didnt hit the cap then yes it should buff tingyuns buff, but remember tingyuns has a cap so it wont mean magically more buffing
@@guobacertified I see. Thanks for your explanation
