    I'm actually amazed it took somoene this long to creatively address these issues with the germanium fuzz. (I know I'm a couple of years late on this post, but even still!!) These issues have been known forever, and all anyone did was tell you what you COULDN'T do with a germanium fuzz, rather than find a work around / fix. Stabilizing the erratic characteristics of the germanium transister in one box is brilliant.

    I just got one of these and it’s a total game changer! Now I can gig a germanium fuzz completely worry free. The added flexibility with pedal placement is great, works with any wah. The impedance knob is the most useful tone shaping control I’ve used on any fuzz ever, really does make it capable of pretty much any type of dirt you can think of!
    Such a well designed product, really impressed guys.

    Just tried one at the local shop- White one, their last one. Sounded fantastic! Was about to go up to counter to purchase, and they said they just sold that white one online- here try our last black one. Did not have the same tonal quality as the white one, or I just couldnt get it to be like the white one. Im sure it was me, but I passed on the black one......oh to be 5 minutes quicker.......The black one may have an issue, as it was constantly regulating, whereas the white one would do so as needed. I will try another when they get the next batch. I love how it sounded.

    Im surprised that the impedance knob isn't tied to an expression jack. Seems like that could have given you all of the benefits of the roll off that people go for with out having to bend down and have control in real time.

    What a killer idea- and honestly killer video damn… I have some feedback for you! I’m sitting here trying to figure out my first germanium fuzz and I’m stuck between this and just a much cheaper mini fuzz face- here’s why. I use buffers all the time and they are super useful, but I also like to have the ability to just switch them off because they can radically change your sound so damn much- so yea just a thought but maybe add a switch on a future version where u have the option to turn off the buffer? Not a big electronics guy and it might be impossible here but just thought I’d throw it your way! Thx for the awesome product really hope to get my hands on one!

  • @heythere6983

    Doesn’t sound very fuzzy, more like a gain to me . I would love a thicker tone with more gain and the bias to be “colder” sounding, to get that sort of gravely tone especially with power chords . To me that’s the best part about a fuzz.
    I like the idea but the more I’ve listened to the pedal in reviews it doesn’t seem to get into a sorta fuzz face type of vibe, even a light fuzz face. I don’t see it being noticeable as a fuzz but taken as a gainy distortiony type of sound when turned on . Hopefully they can figure out how to really get some thicker and more obvious fuzz from the design .

    It's still not going to stop a germanium fuzz from overheating in the sun though? I happen to live somewhere hot so I dont need my transistors heated, infact I never knew that was a problem.

    I thought germanium transistors were supposed to sound better when at low temperatures. How come they are warmed up?

    • @chrisjs6123
      @chrisjs6123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it is about the biasing. If a normal one is biased at room temperature it'll sound terrible at 90 degrees. These are held stable at 95 degrees and biased to sound right at that temperature. If it's lower than 95 then it'll warm automatically and hold it there at optimum temperature. If well above 95 degrees it might not sound good but even here in Australia, it's not that often we are above 105 degrees unless in direct sunlight.

      I lack a few mod cons in the studio, and the fuzz just quits around forty degrees. Kind of slow, so I didn't think to get a light bulb on the floor until last winter. This is better.
