Always I see videos about Calgary. I've lived in Brazil and I dream of visiting Calgary! All Canadá is fascinating! Every day I study English language for a day to reach my goal!

Calgary was established in 1875, so why does Episode One start at 1911?

What was that plan called? The Mashin Plan? The $10 million one? I think that looked awesome and would've been incredible had it become a reality. Someone tell me what that guy said because I can't find anything on it.

The plan was created by a British architect named Thomas Hayton Mawson (1861-1933).

Who is the host? I need to know more about him. What's his background? Why the space references? What do you know that we don't??!?

Looking at the oldest photos, pre-people Calgary was pretty treeless? The trees are mostly planted in the city limits?

    Great video.
Do any of those older buildings have gargoyle statues?

oneeyedgeek , the original Calgary herald building did. It was built in 1912 and has been demolished. The original gargoyles were salvaged and placed in buildings amongst the city

One century later the railway does not play any significant role anymore, and passenger trains avoid Calgary at all costs.
    Another chapter closed ...

Yeah, now Greyhound is gone with a watered down replacement that goes to maybe half the places at best. Pretty sad in the 21st century you must have a private vehicle of some sort take you to where you wanna go after you arrive at the drop off point.
