This is quite simple, the US Constitution's 1st Amendment says "The Congress ( and by extension other governmental entities) shall make no law respecting the establishment of a religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof".
This policy of officially posting placards proclaiming "In God We Trust" in the public schools clearly establishes a religion. NO WAY is that legal!! Also it has the effect of teaching kids that they can disregard Constitution order if they FEEL like it. That is one hell of a slippery slope!!

Schools are for teaching math, science, language and critical thinking skills.. period. I do not wish the children of Texas to be forced to become socialists or theists. Someone who can be dissuaded from committing a mass shooting because of their belief in God can also be convinced to commit a mass shooting because of their belief in God. Religion is not some arbiter of morality, and has been at the root of many atrocities committed in history.
