How China is tightening control of its tech companies | Business Beyond

  • The Chinese government is tightening its regulatory grip around its tech titans - most famously, for Alibaba and its charismatic founder Jack Ma. That’s after more than twenty years of transforming the country’s digital economy. After years of little scrutiny - why is Beijing looking so closely now? And why should the rest of the world care?

There is truth that the wealthy and corporate special interests own the politicians and drive the regulations in the Western democracies. Plutocracy rose in the West over the last 20 years, just like China's economic infiltration of the West while the PRC economy rose. The economic decoupling begins between the West and China. Spies and bat chewers are not wanted anymore I guess? Crazy world politics, China claims developing nation status, while building a space station and manning it. The irony is not lost on Global citizens at this amazing achievement.

@@cu8195 I live in EU and China for decades, if you want the truth, go to China, and live there for years, not as a foreigner, but as a Chinese, then you would be able to know how the media is making news. BTW, do you know how many videos and channels and accounts were deleted or banned on the YT just because they were talking about "China is good or another side of China"? Have you ever wondered about the algorithms of YT? Have you heard the word: 'Information silos'. The current situation is billions of Chinese people travel between China and western, know almost everything in the western through western media, and able to communicate at least in English, while how many western people could do the same? Go to China, go to Xinjiang, and ask the locals whether they know anything about concentration camp. If you think China is a country monitored by the gov, and surely as a westerner, it is definitely not a place for travelling, and then think about who gave you this thought. There are red pill and blue pill, how many westerners have the balls to take the red one as Neo did?

@@cu8195 That's why I suggest you to go to Xinjiang by yourself, and ask any locals you could meet on the street. For some news it's difficult to give any evidence here, you just need to go there by yourselves to see and to experience. One thing is funny, western media accused China forced Uighur to collect cotton thing, and China as the one of the biggest industrial production countries, is that possible? At least before 2010 I knew they already started to use machines. Why using this, cause this really happened in western history. Just like the wars in Europe and Middle east were and are mostly because of religions. While in China there was almost none in the history, so the basis doesn't even exist for all the crimes accused for China, while only the western people, not only the ordinary people, but also the politicians sometimes, don't know about this.

Unusually showing both sides of the story, much appreciated. Opinionated is less than ideal but still OK as long as you're providing enough information allowing viewers to judge for themselves.

The point where it says people who lived in different times of growth appreciate different things resonates well to me.
If I put myself in a lot of pain and difficulties, I'll find it easier to appreciate and enjoy a pre-designed discipline, it was an improvement instead of a setback for my subconscious.
A government that doesn't embrace the power of individual ambitions would likely resort to oppressive means in my opinion

The problem with tech companies is the saturation of mutuality of the good old data - service transactions. When your data is so liable to be used against the improvement of your life, it had passed its beneficial line.
So the answer to this is to diversify the type of transactions between the consumers and the tech companies. Paid services like youtube premium is a good step but it is not complete without giving back some of the wisdom in return

The more government interferes, the more suppressed the economy. That is not to say it is good or bad, but if the CCP is looking to control the companies, or even the individuals like Jack Ma, who only expreseed an opinion to lose favour, they will have a hard time finding innovators like him. Innovation is driven by shaking the boat.

But the Chinese country is showing us that the control of the economy from and through the land or the country or the Community itself should lead the economy. It is much more effective look at the state owned companies and banks. I love the Chinese way of economics
