Thanks for the video. Elbows and forearm filing strikes? Do these types of tools play a role in your system or do you prefere to use palms and fists even at close range? Any help would be appreciate. Thx
Thank you for your question! In Xing Yi Quan it plays a minor role. It is not emphasised. Nevertheless we have also practices in our school in which we focus on that. We consider it as important to be able to use all major body parts as tools for fighting. Elbow strikes can be very powerful in various distances!
@@xuangongfu Man your mission to bring full time training in modern day is so important. One of the thing I like with our practice is the reflexion on how ti bring traditionnal method into modern contexe practice and keep the art alive. Thank to you bro.
Not have a long distance attack is in my opinion a major weakness in the internal martial arts. Waiting to attacked in a uncontrolled Situation is dangerous. What do you think about it?
in my opinion internal martial arts are in both long and short distances. Northern Shaolin has internal as well but just like wrestling or jiu jitsu… the fight almost always goes into the clinch in which southern styles short distance is so useful
@@DxModel219C an't see that. Iam not speaking about Shaolin relatet styles, but taiji, xingyi and bagua. It surly works in clinches. Waiting for the aggressor attackes is not a good strategy, because he not throwing a punch, but punches in a uncontrolled manner. You are in danger be overwhelmed. To be a complete martial artist you need be able striking out wider distance. With a little experience in boxing with or without kicks, you will know a Bengquan or a piercing palm are not designed for attacks from distance. This arts good for law enforcement/security. But not so good for sportfighting and self defense in a street fighting situation. So much I love baguazhang and xingyi I like keep it realistic.
@@hubertploberger985 😂 Yah and our body and reaction time is not the same as when we were alot younger. One thing about close range internal art like tai chi and soft wing chun is you still advance as you grow older. You’re not limited like if you’re 60 years old doing muay thai.

I do not like when the performance is first about going with the flow and after that the teacher just speeds up the techniques.
