Boy that smeargle game was so brutal it broke my heart. I felt like I was watching a horror movie with how everything just kept jumpscaring me, one terrifying thing after another

I liked HumYum's teams through the tourney and was rooting for her often. Unfortunately she was in the same bracket as Leo, I have been rooting for him after that insane set with BluesEnergy
the tournament classic "i dont want to play the game; lets fish for a god MU" in game 2. you love to see it.
Second game was one of the saddest thing I've ever seen in Pokémon. Respect for HumYumm.
It was one of those games where BP seems really broken. Genuinely so sad to see a great player not be able to do anything because their team didn't match well into their opponents' cheese strat.
@@leojustice3367 hum yumm made a risky play trying to greed a leech seed which didn't work out, i don't think it was a bad play necessarily but she had no idea what was in the back to take advantage of sub and imo should've been more cautious. in a different matchup she also could have gotten dug trapped, let charizard come in for free or allowed a bunch of other threats in that could break through, all of which she was aware of but chose to risk. dd smeargle and taunt ttar were particularly explosive but the thing that won the game was substitute, without a sub up smeargle gets ohkoed by most mons and ttar gets 1v1'd by swampert
@@aldrichunfaithful3589 I mean if you see a possible sub passer you're supposed to prevent it from having a free sub, right ? She got the right guess the first time. Never let yourself get cheesed by Sub Pass if you can
@@aldrichunfaithful3589 thats true, had she used psychic or GD instead of leech entire game coulda played out differently, that was a big misplay as she already saw jolt use sub... and yeah she was tryna catch a switch but its literally 50/50 that early if he clicks sub again or BP/TWave/something else

Humyum is always very kind, I really hope she makes it to mains. Absolutely adore her and her teams make for long, interesting games!

Game 1 wasn’t even that close… Without the EQ crit, blissey just sits there all day. If your plan vs blissey is to crit or freeze it, the game almost by definition can’t be close

What is the structure/format for the main event?
Interesting. I’ve been thinking about doing a DD BP Smeargle lately. I was think Metagross would be a good choice to BP to, though, in my theorymoning.
i've done it before and i agree with you, ttar worked well here but if you aren't matchup fishing for tournament then rock slide metagross is a lot more threatening, so is heracross imo (i just used it with brick break, megahorn, rock slide and eq). i ev'd them to outspeed aero at +2 or +1 respectively with adamant max atk and the rest in hp, with magneton support and skarm for spikes. and as for actually using it you don't normally get free subs so you need to find consistent entry points against slow mons that smeargle can spore, which works especially well if you get in on a natural cure mon since you can dd then fast spore whatever came in

flinchd for sure mattered. Unless tar was so bulky that it still wouldnt be in eq range. maybe knowing pert couldnt still kill hum yumm shouldve stayed with celeib anyway? cuz plus 2.5 dd eqon fullhealth pert wont kill
flinch definitely mattered because celebi would've healed out of ko range after giga drain.
