As we track him to Rhalgr’s Reach, the darkness of his actions-causing the deaths of chocobos-becomes undeniable. Myste, in his final moments, confesses his love, leaving me with a deep sorrow. Rielle’s words echo in my mind: that saying goodbye is part of life, but it doesn’t ease the pain of losing someone who mattered, leaving behind only the consequences of their choices.

As Frey was your dark half, Myste was the "light" half (bad/good; dark/light like Start Wars lol)...the part that had issues with everything unsavory the WoL had to do, well, that's what I gathered from it all. Frey said "A house divided can not stand" and the struggle w/in yourself makes you weaker in retrospect.
