Exploring Long Island and Dean's Blue Hole

- We have wanted to go to Long Island in the Bahamas ever since we bought our Leopard 40 but it has never worked out. Well it FINALLY has, and we can't wait to start exploring, and especially can't wait to get to Dean's Blue Hole.
Long Island is over 80 miles long, tip to tip, so the only real way to experience it all is with a car, so we walked to the nearest settlement, rented a car, and were off!

Want more?! How about a little FAQ
❓Why Folsom Ocean Views?!
⚓️Because Folsom is Charles’ last name and it’s a play on the Johnny Cash Lyric "Folsom Prison Blues".
❓Why a #Catamaran?
⚓️Jes gets really seasick while #sailing and the upstairs galley really helps when we #travel.
❓You both work full time jobs?
⚓️Yup. Charles has a traditional 9-5 position as the Director of Customer Success and Jes owns her own business doing art commissions for clients. #WorkingandSailing
❓Where to Next?
⚓️We are not sure. Part of the fun of this #DigitalNomad #lifesytle is that you can pick your #adventures

Looks amazing!! Thanks for sharing.
Your videos have really improved so much over the past year, I am enjoying watching your editing skills improve just as much as I am enjoying experiencing your journey together.
Thank you so much! We are always trying to learn and grow at everything we do.

🚨Travel Updates🚨
We are currently traveling and posting content pretty much daily on our Instagram page! If you haven't been folloing along there, make sure you check it out. I post what we are up to on a daily basis (even when its boring) and share random boat life tips along the way.
If you are already following on IG, you got the whole story on why we quit posting on TH-cam. But if you missed it check out our IG highlights or more details are on the blog (link below)
I have been working on posts that adress questions that come up on IG like how much solar do we have (and is it enough)? How much power does our electric kitchen use? How do we work out on the boat? ETC. All of these posts are coming in the next few weeks 🙌🏼

Great end to my work day. I hate Monday, but love seeing you two.
Awwww - glad we can help!
Thank you for this Long Island video; especially your visit to my hometown, Clarence Town!
The blue hole is always great to see again and again….but those Lighthouse Point tacos! Wowzer! 🐟🌮 🍻
Those were the most loaded fish tacos we had ever seen - there's a reason they are mentioned in almost every review we found 😀
Really well done episode! Editing was wonderful and the history was extremely enjoyable. Well done guys. GOD bless JC
Thanks!! As a history enthusiast, I couldn’t help but include something about Father Jerome!!
i think it was beeping because you did not have on your seatbelts it appears...but hope you guys had a great time and will be returning to another one of our beautiful islands in the Bahamas
Beautiful video. Thanks for taking the time to show us Long Island.
Charles I am pretty jealous of your diving skills at the blue hole. Without weights I make it down like six feet. I guess it helps you are so fit and trim, where as I have a little extra boyancy....aghrm...yeah let's call it boyancy.
😂 That was actually the very first dive that I got deep enough to be neutrally buoyant without needing weights.
Love the video can’t wait to see the blue hole in person
It's an expirence everyone should have. There honestly are not words for how beautiful it is!
Absolutely stunning. Another great video.
Thank you so much 😊
This was loads of fun to watch, I bet it was better to experience/capture...thanks for the history lesson on the Bahamian Long Island!
Another great video. Glad you got rid of the beeping. Oh in the bush there are mosquitoes for true. Great adventures and smiles are the norm always great stuff. Keep these coming so much fun
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful video of our island, thank you. Do please come again.
More to come! Next week we will have a vid on the Northern part of the island + Farmers Market. We were only there for a few days, but I can not wait to come back and spend more time there!!
Great Vlog guys. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks Beautiful, thanks for sharing!! Really looking forward to see what's next.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow, absolutely amazing guys. Thanks so much for the history lesson, sharing your experience & the great content. So so so jealous. Safe sailing ⛵️
Billy D
Thanks again!
What a wonderful episode guys ‼️ Totally enjoying your confidence and more relaxed attitude. Thank you. Will keep your ending suggestion close.
✨🌊💨⛵️🏝👙🌞✨
Really nice video! I like the research you do to give the adventure more background and meaning. Experiment with some smoother endings ;)
Thanks! And yeah, the endings we are working on 😂
You only missed a few things but maybe next time Chimney Rock, Bona Corde Beach, Galloway Beach and Max's Conch Bar...
Oh my Nautical's, that Blue Hole is freakishly deep. 202 meters with a cavern only 20 meters below the surface you are standing on that widens to 100 meters.
And the adventure to the Shrimp Hole, and the Hole itself, reminds me of Niue in the South Pacific. Very similar feel.
OH MY NAUTICAL'S 😂😂😂😂
I dont think it is me, but is your resolution less than usual? It is less all the other Ocean cruising folks I follow- esp drone shots (viewed on 31"Screen)
Okay. Real talk here. This is something that we have noticed too, but haven't been able to a) reproduce the issue 100% of the time and b) figure out how to fix it (assuming it is happening at all). Thank you for pointing it out, it helps us know that something is still funky. The videos look far more crisp when watching them on the computer before uploading to TH-cam, but there's not setting available in TH-cam. So, long story short, we're trying to figure it out.
Is dinghy theft not a thing? I’d be worried someone would steal it or worse yet, the cat.
It is, but not in Long Island or really anywhere in the Bahamas. We do lock it up when we're in Nassau but that's pretty much it. As for the big boat - it's too big and slow to be easy to steal 😂
My wife Kat has the same super power...they land on her and take right back off while they eat me alive, so unfair...lol
It really is the best. Although when I do get a bite that itches, I (Charles) am the biggest baby about it because I'm not used to it 😂
Next time plz travel with lots of insect repellent.
Such a beautiful lady wow
