- See how to make a wooden claymore. I used beech and jatoba to create some contrast in the blade and cross guard, shaped the handle with hand and power tools and turned the pommel.
Check out my channel for other wooden sword builds, furniture and shop projects, and whatever else I've made lately.

That's a beautiful sword! Great woodworking skill & clever techniques. I always like watching your videos!
You are too kind James, thanks!

Yeah shields a good idea!
Thanks, definitely on the to-do list
a wooden khopesh might look cool!

Jason, I have just discovered your channel and I love your wooden swords. I will be a regular here!
Thanks! You've got some great builds as well, look forward to seeing more.
Beautiful sword, and clever use of different woods
Thanks
That turned out a-maze-ing!
Thanks much!
Absolutely amazing! I've missed your builds lol. I would love to see you tackle a set of daggers, or shield and mace!
Right? Gotta break away from just swords.
@@GeeksWoodShop not that the swords aren't freaking awesome lol. I'd love to have one. Ooooo wait what if you started making sheaths for the swords?
its really beautiful. Wish I can have one.
awesome work. id love to see a 'kriegsmesser' build one day :D
Oh ya.
man that came out awesome
Thanks
Really nice work. I just got interested in making wooden swords. This video answers so many questions. Thanks you!. One of my favorite "swords" is Sting from LOTR, and of course Conan's the barbarians sword. I'd love to see you make them. BTW, just subscribed.
Thanks! Those are definitely on the wish list to make someday
Your sword are awesome ❤️
Glad you like them, I have some other coming soon. Thanks
Geralt school of the wolfs, grand master swords from The Witcher 3
great job, thaks for sharing it with us. I'd like to watch your aproatch to a falcata, with its traditional horse head on the pommel, that would be great
Thanks, that's one I haven't thought of, good suggestion
Another marvel. Also, one of my most beloved weapons, so I might be a bit subjective when I'll say: GAWDAMNIT IT'S LOVELY 😍😍😍
Thanks, man, this is the good stuff 🏆
Ah, now I'm blushing. Thanks!
@@GeeksWoodShop remember: real men don't blush; real men get frostbite while wrestling grizzlies 😁
And that's why I have so many punches in my man card. I don't like frostbite or wrestling grizzlies.😜
@@GeeksWoodShop enough that you make those vids. No other skill needed, imo. Also, I forgot to mention, that it's really nice to get another project from you in such a short period of time. Keep up the good work! 😎
Awesome!
Nice work!
Do you still have the blueprints?
If yes then can you link it?
Instant like. No need to watch!!
Can you please do a game of theones ICE sword and a LONG CLAW sword and a basic two handed medieval sword.
With some instructables
Gimlis ax!
That is truely a work of art, good job! I saw at the end you tried to draw it from your back, check out shadiveristys back sword holder! His is made fairly quickly but you could make a beautiful matching one to this sword!
Ya, that'd be fun to make for sure.
⚔️ Awesome!
Do you have the measurements for your sword? Trying to recreate it as a school project
I got a idea project for u to have as a challange. Next maybe you can make hoplon shield or what most others will call it spartan shield. Think u can make it one day?
Ya, making a shield is definitely on the wish list, thanks for the suggestion!
WE NEED AXES
#drool!
What are the measurements of the wooden claymore sword?
Can I know the final weight of the sword?
Love it! Your work on the different swords is inspiring. Do you design the templates yourself or download them from somewhere?
Thanks much. I design most of them myself. I did a short video on creating designs in SketchUp if that's helpful.
Hi thats awesome. I looking for some kind of sword. Do u might send me the dropbox sword dimension. I like to built some swords for some kids in a christian kids and teens camp. Thx
Good luck, they are very fun to build. I don't have dimensions for each build, but check out some of my other sword builds and you'll find links to some drawings. Cheers
Van you please tell me which company glue are you use in wood work i want to buy this glue 🙏
I really like Titebond 2 for most projects. Good luck!
Do you have the pattern?
What thickness did you choose for the blade? I'm building something similar and can't settle on a measurement. (I'm building a zweihander)
A typical blade for me is 1/4 to 3/8 thick. That's because these are meant for swinging around, but not for contact. If you were going to do even some light sparing, I'd go 1/2" or more. Hope that helps, good luck, sounds like a fun build
@@GeeksWoodShop this is a wall hangar so 3/8 sounds great, thanks alot
What are all the tools and machines you use to make these weapons?
I use a lot of tools, do you have a specific question on any of them?
Hey, any grey colour wood that I can use for this instead....?
You could try ebonizing the wood. Put a pad of steel wool in a jar with vinegar and let it sit for a few days, then use that solution to rub on wood to blacken it.
@@GeeksWoodShop Thanks man.... That sounds like it would work...
Thinks about making wood claymore sword realises he has only a hand saw and rotary kit
Wheres the clay?😂
Anyways good work!
