These blind tests are awesome -takes all the marketing, hype, and outside opinions out of the equation. Always a few surprises as well. Keep'em coming boys!
A blind shootout by the Dummies = best whisky entertainment online! Also, nicely done for the shout out to Foodquig, he must be the most active whisky-tuber at the moment, lol. Those live streams of his are of epic lengths (I don't think anyone can claim to have watched even 50% of all of them, but bless him for the commitment).
Boys I just received a Ballantine 30 yr scotch. The person I received it from was given it in 1964. The scotch was distilled in late 20's early 30's. I contacted scotch for dummies to see if I can bring it up and be a guest. They live close to me. If not I'll do a review on my show. I'm excited about the find.
peter white mine was at least 30 yrs old in 64. was distilled 1934. May have lost some flavor. It's the history behind it. I'm trying to find people who will appreciate the find. I will do a show on it.
Great start! Just got my "I survived" T-shirt today. Looks mighty fine. Of all those hours, I really enjoyed the last one the best. Singing was wonderful, and you guys really cut loose with relief. By the by, I think Siri came up with #28 twice. Delighted to be on the Patron list, and I look forward to Part 2 Shoot-Out.
Aimee nearly popped a forehead vein until you clarified the JD inclusion. And I was feeling tipsy by the end of this bracket for some reason. You guys are taking it up another notch. I like how you structured this one and enjoy seeing you taste the same ones, maybe you do influence each other some but it's good to see the comparisons, ("Pine needles", "What? I don't get pine needles").
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Johnny Mayson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Scott is having some issues with the "rumblings in the interior" in this shootout. I enjoy these shootouts, even though I do miss the Scotch and World whisky reviews on Saturday. HA!
Ok just a bit disappointed that you won't be doing all 16 in 1 day, but do understand why... It because your getting old and can't recuperate as quickly. 😎 Love it! Can't wait for the next episode.
Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniel's is dripped slowly - drop-by-drop - through ten feet of firmly packed charcoal (made from hard sugar maple) before going into new charred oak barrels for maturing
I agree with you guys on the decision to include Jack Daniel's but I believe that it is unfair to the brand itself that you have chosen the 40% abv Old No7 to put against the more premium expressions of the other brands, not their entry level Standard bottlings . Old No7 should be compared against Four Roses Standard yellow label for example, not against the Small Batch expression. Just one example there. I would have chosen to include the 45% JACK DANIEL'S SINGLE BARREL. It is just unfair the way you have gone in my humble opinion.
More disappointed to see Wild Turkey 81 than Jack Daniels. With the 100 proof Knob Creek, you should have made an exception and used the 101 instead. That being said, should still be an epic series. TEEEEESST IITTTTT!!
Great Idea for the shootout....Scott I love that you are letting your hair down and burping on camera...not like you:) By the way can you guys buy the bottle of Wow for a reasonable price?
So your P was strong, and sweet, when you nosed it?... BTW, I was in uniform (wearing my 12 hour BOOM t-shirt) while watching this, so I had my game-face on during your tastings.
We've been told that is incorrect. It fits all legal definitions with the added step of the Lincoln County Method. But what do we know...we are The Dummies.
I love the idea of this video but your mouth noises... geez. Smacking and licking caught by the mic the entire video. The only thing that could have made it worse was if you chewed gum with your mouths open. Do better.
These blind tests are awesome -takes all the marketing, hype, and outside opinions out of the equation. Always a few surprises as well. Keep'em coming boys!
gabrielgv0619 wait for the ending...
The ending is a shocker

ArtMorte he definitely has the stamina!
aka "Whiskytainment"
This is great, looking forward to bracket 2. It inspired me to do a few more blind tastings
They are very surprising to us as well
awesome stuff guys. love love love the side by side blind shoot out x 16!
Andrew Schroeder wait for the other brackets. Some surprises in store.
Knob Creek and Eagle Rare are both outstanding.
yes they are.

hillbillywine101 that is a great find. Hope it's held up to the test of time.
Serge reviewed the 1963 Ballantine's, gave it a 91 so your 1964 bottle should be spectacular as well.
peter white mine was at least 30 yrs old in 64. was distilled 1934. May have lost some flavor. It's the history behind it. I'm trying to find people who will appreciate the find. I will do a show on it.
Look forward to it, the bottle Serge reviewed was also 30 years years old.

Thanks Birddog...and you are correct with 28
Nice call on the JD! Impressed.
After we filmed that we still didn't know. We were like "watch that be Blanton's"
I was all state skate boarder back in ought 6! great show! LOVE IT!
Bubba and The Beard I thought that was good...youse guys and skateboards.
Scotch Test Dummies yeah...i coulda gone pro but during states i broke my left cocksus...still limp when it rains
I had three of the four samples available....spot on guys!
TheOneGlassMan thanks oneGlass. Join in the next three brackets.
Scott's burp is foodquig approved LOL I like how you both methodically eliminated samples by tasting everything totally blind...
Nice work, gentlemen!
Thanks Quig. It gets even more interesting as things progress.
What a great shootout Dummies can't wait for the next one. You guys surprised the hell out of me with that winner. Keep up the great reviews!!
Stay tuned...it gets even more shocking.
"Hole On Ground" coffee roasters. I know a guy. Currently watching now. Ty for the shout out. Terviseks, Dummies!
We could call it 'The Dummy Blend'
The Russell's 10, after having several bad "vintages", is very good in it's most recent iteration (a very well priced at Costco).
Mark Price not bad at all Mark.
Aimee nearly popped a forehead vein until you clarified the JD inclusion. And I was feeling tipsy by the end of this bracket for some reason. You guys are taking it up another notch. George Kaplan I didn't get pine needles either. Scott
I grew up in the mountains of Colorado...I'm a pine needle expert. Bart
Great 1st episode! You guys sniffed out that JD pretty easily...low proof and barrel char. Good job! Looking forward to where the wheaters land.
I (bart) am stunned that we got it. I kept thinking the odds are way against us on calling that. but...
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Jadiel Spencer instablaster :)
@Johnny Mayson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now.

@Johnny Mayson it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
Awesome guys! Are the brackets coming out on Saturdays and Wednesdays?
Mark Haakana yes!
I am a little disappointed that G (Eagle Rare) was not picked - looking forward to the next 3 brackets!!!
Whisky aus der Sicht eines Amerikaners these are all good bourbons!
I just put on my glasses for the first time, the camera is great and you guys are handsome as hell!
your glasses must need cleaning!
I LOVE THE SHOOT OUTS!!! Bart -- "My right nostril is much bigger than my left."
substitute testacle for nostril.
People would really be shocked how good JD neat is. There is a reason why it's the #1 selling whiskey in the world.
We did an independent review of it and we were both surprised.
Scott's opening monologue felt like a mission briefing in a spy movie. Your mission, if you choose to accept it,...
this whiskey will self consume in 10 seconds...
Scott is having some issues with the "rumblings in the interior" in this shootout. I enjoy these shootouts, even though I do miss the Scotch and World whisky reviews on Saturday. HA!
Andrew we had to do these as regular releases this time. In the rye shootout we did them as extra releases and it killed our shoot times.
Well, I am looking for the next three shootouts!
Ok just a bit disappointed that you won't be doing all 16 in 1 day, but do understand why... It because your getting old and can't recuperate as quickly. 😎
Love it! Can't wait for the next episode.
Jerry Bartlett thanks Jerry.
Would you guys like to review orphan Barrel rhetoric 23? I can send a sample
I have a bottle just don't know when it'll be opened, but thanks! Scott
loved the review guys keep up the great work !ps eagle rare 10 yr for me is the best of the 4 ...
Boom!
great show guy's , is bracket #2 next week or later today?
Santacruzn it'll be wed and sat releases
Just got a visual after that "Making me water" statement. I not know about that breathing technique, someone could get hit with a few chunks
All's fair in whiskey tasting
Jack Daniel's is not a bourbon - it's a Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniel's is dripped slowly - drop-by-drop - through ten feet of firmly packed charcoal (made from hard sugar maple) before going into new charred oak barrels for maturing
oh yes, we know. we only included it to cause some drama! and to see how it would do. its pretty obvious, we were able to pick it out pretty easy.
I agree with you guys on the decision to include Jack Daniel's but I believe that it is unfair to the brand itself that you have chosen the 40% abv Old No7 to put against the more premium expressions of the other brands, not their entry level Standard bottlings . We definitely see your point.

That being said, should still be an epic series. TEEEEESST IITTTTT!!
bunit1701 had to cut it off somewhere. We was hoping to keep it below 50% but the knob creek was 50%.
Yessssss!,
"High rye" yikes, Jack Daniels is 8% rye haha love the concept though. Keep it up!
might have been more the charcoal notes combined with it to make it smell different. Thanks dekeyser!
You two are the ‘Beatles of Booze’
great complement! thanks Jay.
Lot of sips here! You guys rock... Lovin' on Play Doh Bart? A lot of things clearer now... JK :)
Aimee Holland-Woody my wife thought that playdo note was funny too. Scott
I luv me some playdo. bart
Jack Daniels is not technically a bourbon. But what ever right?
sounds like controversy.
first thing i thought
Correct, whatever.
Sweet Sweet Sweet.
By legal definition jack Daniels is not a bourbon
We've been told that is incorrect. It fits all legal definitions with the added step of the Lincoln County Method. But what do we know...we are The Dummies.
well that method adds to the flavor and the color. the only thing that can legally be added is water.
Dirt 117 if your going to make that statement, at least back it up. Fucking idiot
Great video minus the toe curling lip smacking that you can hear. I can't take it!!!! lol Sorry!
that happens a lot in this line of work. apologies
First know Professional brewers were woman
cool
Jack Daniels is not a bourbon
Michael Rush it's a Bourbon that's been charcoal filtered.
It fits every rule of bourbon but with the extra Lincoln County Method...the maple charcoal finish. bart
I love the idea of this video but your mouth noises... geez. Smacking and licking caught by the mic the entire video. The only thing that could have made it worse was if you chewed gum with your mouths open. Do better.
we will try.
Any given time0.7% the world is drunk
don't Judge! lol
First ?
After 15 seconds of watching them make faces, I had to move on.
bob craft were making a face at you right now😝
