Thank you. I had a video of me doing the stacked leather but I did not know one of my lights was blocking the my work. All you can see in the back if the lamp.
I have not played with that cue for over 2 years now but I have a cue I made with an aluminum pin and I have been playing with it for almost a year and I have no problems with the aluminum pin. I also made a cue for my wife with an aluminum pin and it’s about 3 years old and it has no issues. Hope this helps and thank you for commenting.
The cue plays great after I changed the wrap. The original leather wrap felt like plastic and the cue felt whippy. Doing the stacked leather gave it some rigidity. After all that the cue felt more solid but it was too heavy for me. I like light cues. After making my own cues, I retired my Predator after only playing with it for less than a year. For the Revo 12.9, I find it better for tip placement. After watching pros on TH-cam, pros thence to stay center of the CB. With a fatter tip, the feather you go off center, it looks like your going to miss cue. After making more balls with the 12.9. I won’t go back to smaller tips. Thank you for commenting and please share.
I bought the leather from Cue Components. I did the wrap myself. I watched a DIY video from Ryan, RAT Cues owner, on Facebook. I have a video on how to do a stacked leather wrap coming out next Wednesday. Thank you for commenting and please share. Link to get the leather wrap. www.cuecomponents.com/stackwrap.html
Before 12.4, now I started to like the 12.9. It makes me focus on center cue ball. Since Covid hit, and just started watching ghost play on TH-cam. I noticed how many of the pros don’t really use too much English also many of pros use the 314 and regular shafts that are greater than 12.75mm. If the pros are playing with 12.75 or greater tip, why are many amateur going smaller than 12.75. I have been doing it the wrong way. I find it easier to pocket balls with the 12.9. I can still spin the CB when I need to but the 12.9 to me is much better. Hope this helps and please share.
@@playpool12fyao Thanks for the reply and I'm glad i watched the cue review as I'm sure I'd be disappointed in the wrap and wouldn't want to spend more money changing it.
Thank you. I don’t understand why Predator sticks with the lizard leather wrap. The wrap feels like plastic and for the curly maple and cocobolo, I don’t understand why they did not go with brown texture leather.
I used to play with the 12.4 for almost a year and I liked it. I tried the 12.9 and to me that was better. I was missing less balls maybe because I was hitting the CB more towards the center. I now play with a Kielwood shaft and a carbon fiber shaft I made. I retired all my production cues and made a whole new set of my own. I will have an update on what’s in my case. Be on a lookout for that. As for tip size in my playing shaft, the carbon is 13.0, one Kielwood is 12.9 and the other one is 12.7. The 12.7 has the lowest definition but like the Revo 12.9, I like to stay close to center CB because less variables are in play. That’s a bit weird. First a predator butt without weight bolts shouldn’t be close to 15oz, it should be quite a bit lighter. Second, it shouldn’t be this front heavy. My blak 4-3 with SS uni-loc pin and SS joint bought new wasn’t this front heavy at least. But True Splice series look really nice.
It was lighter without the stacked leather. The leather added a little bit more weight. The cue itself was heavy already when I got it and that didn’t really help. Thank you and thank you for commenting.
I used to have a same cue. the original leather wrap sucks, feels like plastic. good to change to stacked leather. I have the same feel, the butt is a little slimer than other cues.
Totally agree with the original leather wrap, it felt like plastic. Also I don’t really understand why Predator makes such a slim cue. Thank you for commenting.
Sorry I haven’t. I would have got a Predator without wraps but most of them are the quick release. I am not really fond of the quick release. I know I would not know if the pins are different but I just think it would be in the back of my mind to keep tighten the shaft to the butt.
It’s a nice cue but it too heavy for me. Now I just built my own cue lol so I can control the weight. Thank you for commenting, please subscribe if haven’t already and please share.
I would think Predator would know that. If it was real ivory, this cue would be selling for more. Thank you for the information and thank you for commenting.
Very true. If Predator was using real Ivory, the cue would sell for a lot higher but shipping would be a problem. Thank you for commenting, don’t forget to subscribe and please share.
Love the look of the stack leather wrap! Looks 100% better! Enjoy all your video’s, very informative.
Thank you. Yeah, I did not like the original leather.
That stacked leather wrap looks amazing! Goes really well with that cue.

The Cue looks great!
Thank you.

Do you prefer the revo 12.9 vs 12.4?

What’s the diameter of the butt of this cue?

@@playpool12fyao I don 't like the quick release pin neither, they got losen when playing, need to tighten up often. P3 has radial pin as well.
That would be a cue to get. I would get a wrapless. I prefer wrapless cues for the feel.
Can i buy your old cue???

Sir the world ban on the selling of ivory took effect in1989. You find out for yourself. You were informed wrong.

that is deff not ivory, you cant use that stuff anymore, its Ivorine a man made look alike material
