It's all about arm tension and grip pressure.
All the years i have been playing disc golf i think the number one thing i think about is arm tension and grip pressure. I don't want the disc to pop out early on my throw so i always hold on tight. I have never had a problem of throwing the disc far this way. 400 feet is a pretty easy throw not very much work. I recommend giving it a try and see if you notice a difference on how far you can throw.

Tension is the enemy of speed, but man I just need control. This helps. I spent too long doing distance and forgot this principle

Aloha Joeilingworth, I like to think of tension and being loose as one thing. You need to be loose up till you need to have tension. It's like a boxer is loose till he punches. Or a weight lifter is loose till he tightens to lift the weight. Throwing is the same your loose till you tighten to throw the disc. The tension activates all you muscles. Aloha Michael

I like your videos and you have some good insights but bragging about throwing over 400 feet after 17 years is wild. I know life that have played a year and can throw over 400. If anything, that's like an anti advertisement. Don't learn from me, I've been playing almost 20 years and I'm still stuck at 400.

Aloha Samhowl, So I didn't say it took me 17 years to learn to throw over 400 +. I said I have been playing over 17 years and can throw over 400 +. People write and tell me i need to throw with a lose arm all the time. That is why i said i throw with a tight arm all the time. It only took me 6 month to learn throw over 400 + with my Destroyers, 17 years ago. Aloha Michael

I’m impressed either way. I’m getting Jose angle down and good snap but wanting a straight level throw not an anhyzer s turn that’s thrown high in the air and I can’t get but 330. I’ve been playing a year. So 400 ft in a year is super impressive. A little jealous but at the same time congrats man! That’s an accomplishment

@@DiscGolf101 right, so you progressed for 6 months and you've been at 400 feet for 16 years. That's what I was pointing out. If you learned to throw 400 in 6 months, after 16 YEARS, you should be at 500 or more. 16 years with no distance progression?

@@fishblade2 I am in the 400s myself playing 5 years. I have several buddies who throw over 400 that have been playing around a year.
My point was if this guy can't teach himself to improve his distance in 16 years and he still stuck at 400 ft after 16 years, he hasn't found a way to teach himself to throw further. How can he help you get beyond 400. Need to go to seabas22, who was an instructor for Paul mcbeth from a time and throws 400 from a standstill.

Aloha , So I have stopped trying to throw further. I can push out to
450 ft with my Destroyers. That long enough. I use to practice trying to push father but it just takes a lot of practice. I don't throw as much as I use to . My arm is getting tired, body getting tired of try to bomb throws all the time. But my 450 ft has got me 3 first , and 2 seconds playing in are expert class here.
But if you are talking about throwing understable disc , 45 feet in the air and saying I can throw 500 feet. I'm prity sure I can do that with no problem. I do 400 ft. 10 to 15 feet off the ground know.
