BRAND NEW! Trying out the Walinga grain vac.

  • The new Walinga grain vac has been delivered and I need to clean some soybeans out so I have room for wheat. Time to put it to work. The 2050 gets first crack at running it, mostly because I know it will have more than adequate power, as well as shut-down gauges for oil pressure and coolant temp. That will let me concentrate on getting used to running the vac. I'll try other tractors in future videos.

I'm not a farmer and I don't play one on TV, but of all the grain vacs that I have watched on TH-cam, I think that is the best one. It is very well designed!

I shopped and asked around, and I have to agree. There are less costly machines out there, but it's a case of you get what you pay for.

Hi Chris, that does work really nice with dust, and it cleans it. In other words, it is an outstanding job on cleaning corn and soybeans, and thank you for being a farmer and what you do for us here in the United States . Again, thank you so very much for what you do for us by putting food on everyone's table. All of the farmers deserve a lot of respect and credit for what you all do. Thank you 👍👍👍👍

Thanks for showing us your new toy! Looks like a well built machine. I think you made the right choice going with the onboard hydraulics. Less to hook up, more universal for running different tractors. I can see how the dust is a huge issue. Plus you add the dust to the sweatbox they are, it's just yuck. That Walinga grain vac does a nice job, it really sucks! When we did soybean we used a vacuum called the scoop shovel. That was back in the 70's, so we had the latest technology. Looks like you got the tractor and the vacuum washed off. Good job Chris, enjoyed watching, have a nice Sunday and week ahead.

Looks like a grain gobbling machine. I don’t grain farm a lot, but when I’ve got to clean out bins I use my buddy’s REM. Way better than shoveling, but we horse trade on other stuff so it’s fair for both of us. My grandfather 30 years ago use to haul new walinga grain vacs out to the dealers to sell.

We're better off than we were, but running out again. I was scouting soybeans earlier and a couple of neighbors corn fields that had germination problems from dry soil now have 3 leaf corn next to waist high corn. Our recent rains got the rest of it growing, but around here I doubt that late stuff will make maturity before a killing frost.

  • @terrellfarms1

Word of advice Chris. Don't jerk on the hoses if the cam locks won't come apart. Especially a few feet back on the hose. I have a three inch scar in the edge of my hairline in a six inch circumfrence. I did that back in 1989 while working for grain elevator while in high school. Bled like a stuck pig and damn near knocked my butt out. Now i get to admire the scar for the rest of my life. I learned a valuable lesson quickly. The straight pipe sucks grain alot faster than the than the clean up attachments. I wonder why he was using it at first.

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris

The old bins I'm planning on doing that. But the newer ones can load a truck in less than an hour before I get to the sweep auger. I still plan on using the vac instead of the sweep in those bins.
