    This may have already been suggested (I didn't see it in the comments), but another (very GOOD) TH-cam channel which reviews airguns (including those with suppressors) gets very good results using the accessory microphone on his LabRadar unit. I suspect it will work well for you with your suppressed .22 problem. AEAC is the TH-cam channel. Enjoyed your video.

      You have to shoot far enough for the bullet to be on the "downhill" side of the so-called "trajectory" and get the "impact velocity" to determine "true BC".

    So, What is the con side of the unit other than the price? Magneto Speed appears to be a good unit for clocking velocity, have you ever tried the Magneto Speed? I have one the sports model. It is Okay, but I don't like hanging anything on to the barrel and the strap sometimes it will come loose, not good.

    • @XRING
      @XRING  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rudolph Ferdinand Great question Rudolph. I have tried the magneto speed units and they are great. Other than what you mentioned they are about all anyone needs.
      The Labradar is bulky, eats batteries, is sometimes hard to get aligned to the target.
      The good thing about it is it’s ease of use and you can literally work from the left and right sides of the unit with two different shooters at the same time. It takes a little coordinated effort but makes it quick if you just need some velocities.
      This unit was given to me by someone that shot my other chronograph and I have been happy with it. Don’t know if I would have spent my money if this were not the situation.

    Think one of these would be useable at in indoor range with multiple bays?
    Maybe in the bay adjacent to the wall, and kind of aim it into the near corner downrange.

      Manitou I would “assume” it would be fine. I still use mine all the time and love it but never in an indoor range. The Doppler area seems small enough that you should be able to get it to work.

I've watched every setup video made, even bought a third party aiming devise. What a waste.

    @deeremeyer1749 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fluorescent lights "pulse"? Not when they're working correctly unless you're able to see something "pulse" 50-60 times per second. A "regular chronograph" doesn't "see" light. It "sees" SHADOWS when the projectile "blocks" the light. And something like a Shooting Crony will "run" for DAYS on a single 9-volt battery while I'm betting that "superior" radar unit can drain an "auxiliary power source" like that USB "charger" battery pack in an hour or less.
    Especially having to repeatedly "power up" the screen. There IS no "energy savings" shutting down and powering up electronics like that over and over vs. having the display stay "on" at a lower backlight level. Looks like it powers ALL THE WAY OFF rather than just turning off the backlight so a person could get a little LED "auxiliary light" to be able to read the "dark" display without backlight.
    What's the deal with only shooting 3-round "strings"? Are those things capable of recording 10-shot strings? If you're not going to shoot 10 rounds you may as well only shoot one.

      Hello Deeremeyer1, this was just meant to be a short video review of the LabRadar unit so that people could see how it worked.
      I am new to the youtube scene ( less than 6 months) and when I started this venture it was to just give quick glimpse of machine guns, equipment, etc. If you have watched any of my other videos you know that I don't give long reviews ( tear down, maintenance, etc). There are other channels that do a great job at doing just that. Most of my videos are very quick and concise, as I do not have a lot of time to devote to making videos.
      This unit was actually given to me by a guy that borrowed my old school unit and put a bullet through my unit. I appreciated his kind gesture and just wanted to throw some information out there. That is all.
