Oh man, I would have the time of my life organizing that stash.
You never know whether the world will go to sh*t, like what happened with COVID-19. Whether the economic system won't crash, etc. Whatever the case, it's always good to be prepared. Better safe than sorry. Great stuff!

Thank you! I'm not expecting anything apocalyptic, but I live near an overstock, discount grocery store. So I buy condiments, canned goods, pasta, etc when they have them super cheap. Drives my adult kids crazy, I think they believe I'm becoming an old lady hoarder, but it sure helps me save money.
My daughter was the same until we had some heavy snow and I was able to make vegetable soup with some pasta right from my pantry. Love having beans and veggies on hand.

1, Food doesn't "expire" (at least not by law) -- they have "best by" dates.
2, Sunscreen, though, most def expires. Don't use sunscreen that is expired! Check that you have; if it's expired, toss it.
3, Dandies are not good for long-term storage. They will get hard and not be any good. I speak from experience. Not sure when you got them, But, in my option, with these, the "best by" date is generally correct. You might get a few weeks past the bb date, but not much more.
Wonderful pantry you have there. The door is very pretty. Its always nice to be prepared if something happens. You did a great job stocking up.

Have you looked into buying freeze dried vegetables and fruits? You could also get a manual grain mill and bulk grain for extended storage.
I make cheesecakes alot with that biscoff biscuits because my kidlettes love my cheesecakes.
Nice pantry! Very equipped.
You should store candles and kerosene lamps with fuel.

My food stockpile is like only 1/3 that size and it's mostly beans, rice, lentils, pasta, hot sauce/spices, canned vegetables and apple juice. Glad to know how to pronounce pasokin. Never heard it said out loud before.

@TheVeganZombie I really recommend you tape a lil note w/ the earliest date in front of your different food groups. Had some canned tomato paste expire on me last month. It was still good but better to not find out it's actually gone bad during the zombie apocalypse. Lol
@@justforyourFYI23 where do you get your moisture absorbers from? I like em for every, ammo boxes, safes, etc. I just don't know how long they're supposed to last themselves.

Hey man, what are your thoughts on the bone char in sugar processing issue? I ask because I think some of those items (the thin mints for example) have "regular" sugar listed in the ingredients. I thought that made it not vegan due to the bone char used in the processing.

I don't think Yardley soap is vegan I think it had gelatin mallow in it but not sure.
Those were given to me. I haven’t used them yet but according to the site only the Lavender isn’t vegan.
I used to buy that ramen and the last time I went shopping for it I double checked the ingredients and they had started adding beef extract. It’s probably different based on the region but I’m curious since this isn’t the first time something like that has happened to me. How often do you check ingredients of products you’ve bought before to make sure companies haven’t changed the recipes?

Still have yet to see a vegan pantry video with healthy fats (e.g. olive oil) for cooking. Even on a vegetarian diet, you cannot afford to cut out healthy fats unless you're eating insane volume. On a vegan diet, which is even more nutritionally deficient? Yikes.

Everyone uses the name indy as a name for their kid or dog lol because it's a hipster name and some people think it's cool .lol but it's over used.

let me get your fire stoked and add a bit of gas and wood but truthful gas and wood. so lets say someone says something like ' this is his delussional pantry to make it seem like veganism is an affordable bounty of goodness when it is just not all of this probably costed you 2000 bucks for like way less food and calories then you would get from a meat eater diet and i bet half of it is soon to be passed date..enjoy your two months (without rationing) of food and you'd run out faster because you also feed your dogs with it' . but on a sidenote, it is funny, you say, you're in a tough situation money wise, but yet feed animals.

That’s a nicely stocked pantry. I like those sparkling botanical drinks. I was looking at a company that stocks you up with months supply of food. But non of their options seem to be vegan, so this is a great idea. I see that ramen at Wegmans all the time. Besides food, I have to biggest bottles of bio active silver hydrosol and black seed oil. It’s good to be prepared.
You definitely won't have to worry about food for quite a while! A suggestion: you might wish to put the raw and shelled nuts that you have in your freezer, as they can tend to go rancid even though their packaged. Same with the soy curls; I have read that they can also tend to go rancid. I wouldn't worry too much about the thin mints; I've had some that I kept (more than) a year, and they were just fine, as long as the inner foil packs are sealed.
He could even just throw the thin mints into the freezer now! And yes I store all nuts and seeds in my freezer too! Especially ground flax seed.

Great question. I’m also curious if he checks or does what I do, which is keep a list of what we have and the soonest expiration date, and rotating cans to make sure FIFO

I'd be concerned about the Wegman's pasta sauce falling over the side and breaking, the jars that are doubled up on the top shelf...🍉
I like to have gluten flout and beans on hand. My family is allergic to so we have to avoid most pre-made things. Also you wouldn't belive how many can food items are cross contaminated with peanut. 😪

Love a well stocked pantry. For some reason, your stash looked huge when you were going through each shelf, but when you stepped back to show the room, it looked reasonable sized. Do you ever get grain moths? I do, but that’s probably because my pantry is in an uninsulated kitchen addition (hot in summer). Thanks for sharing!
You actually get them inside? I only ever see em by porch lights. I'd insulate that area asap. If bugs are getting to your food maybe get some plastic tubs to store it in?

Please consider repackaging your pasta. It could become contaminated with bugs if you leave it in the cardboard boxes.
It bothers me that they don't put the pasta in plastic bags first because of that very reason. At any point, they can be infested and come and go from the box. A few small bugs crawled out of ones i got 6 months ago but i can't return them. I wonder why most companies don't make that a priority, surely they should know about that. 🍉
