23-7 i remember this …I also remember 2 months later Buffalo stomping their asses in the AFC championship. 30-13. The entire Bills Stadium was doing the famous (at the time) chop. Course we all know what happened in the Super Bowl 💔 💔💔💔

Remember that being a close game until Bruce Smith dragged Montana down pretty late and bounced his head off the rock hard artificial turf like a basketball. Result was a concussion, Montana done for the day and the Chiefs done too.
Only took about 30 years but karma was the Bills trading the #10 pick to KC that they’d use to select Patrick Mahomes, KC then spanking Buffalo in an AFC title game, 13 seconds, and even Bruce being at the old stadium to watch another wide right 😊

The crowd was loud for this game. It has a weird metallic echo sound.
If these guys played at modern pace and space they’d probably have ridiculous numbers. When you compare their production to the average QBs their era it looks insane.

During these Montana Chiefs years, I was lucky to see Montana during training camp at River Falls. Good times.

This shows that home field advantage is legit. Buffalo beat them in the playoffs- in Buffalo.

This game is proof to me that if Montana hadn't gotten whiplash from his head bobbling on that frozen concrete (calling that January Buffalo turf is asinine) then KC goes to the Superbowl. He could clearly beat the red hot Bills in Buffalo.
I don't think Montana not getting knocked out of the game would have changed the outcome, Chiefs defense could not stop Thurman Thomas whatsoever in that game, Marty kept Derrick Thomas on the sideline and you had a better chance of hell freezing over than beating the Bills in a freezing Rich Stadium in January.

Even a battered 37 year old Montana (which would be the equivalent of a 50 year old body playing the game today) could still throw dimes.
Forgot about this game in 93 reg season. AFC Championship gm, the Bills had a whole new mind set vs the Chiefs; Super Bowl or bust. Once they knocked Montana out the game it was a wrap. I was 11 years old and cried.

At 1:16, the YPG graphic for the 1993 Bills is clearly incorrect. I think that number might've in fact been their passing yards per game to that point, not total offense.

PERFECTOR - A GRUESOME matchup of two QB LEGENDS. Kelly got beat up in that game, and still kept comin' back. One the his most grittiest performances, even in a losing effort.

I know this sounds stupid but marty schottenheimer is the dusty. Baker of nfl history where hes always had great regular season sucess with very talented rosters yet they have had playoff and championship losses that make ya think they are jinxed and ecspecially as heavy favorites usually
