Stephen has a wonderful gallery in Creede. Creede is an interesting old mining town, with lots of things to see in the area! His paintings are fabulous and fill the gallery.
I was doing a residency at Frank Waters Foundation in '98 that meant so much to me because we live in Morocco where good art instruction and materials are scarce. Their motto was "Sheltering the Creative Spirit". I wanted to get the Quiller color wheel so much that I looked in the tiny Taos phone book under Quiller hoping you lived there. On the Q page I found my long lost childhood friend Laura Quilligan who is a fiber artist living there. So we have been in contact for lo these 22 years. We ended up finding one hardbound signed copy of your "Color Choices " in the last bookstore there. So I have had and used it and the colors you recommend all this time as I try to self-educate here in Marrakech. I appreciate it so much. I attended Pleine Air Live as VIP so I can study the lessons for the year and have signed up for Realism Live. I wanted you both to know how much you are appreciated for your generously sharing your gifts.
Such a great artist in all water media. His color theory and its implementation is remarkable. He makes it so easy to get good neutrals, values and intensities with his methods. Love his work as well.

I recently purchased casien paints and am excited to know there is now a book dedicated to learning this medium. Placed my order and couldn't resist picking up the five new colors as well.
Disappointed that host allowed less than 18 minutes for Stephen to demo ... harsh to not give him time to at least get closer to a finished piece. Suppose we should be greatful he wasn't cut off at 15 min before getting to cut in that Ult Bl sky. A real diservice to a fine artist, IMO.
