I'm a catholic and i couldnt agree more with equal dressing rights to islamic muslim women. If they wish to wear a hijab or head scarf then so be it. They deserve to wear what they wish just as much as i wish to wear jeans and a t-shirt. I think the head scarfs look beautiful anyway
:) Liberated by hijab since 26th June 2008. :) Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah. I've seen the light and have discovered the many benefits of hijab. I don't get ogled at, or judged based on my body, and it is so liberating.
Very eloquent, and good point about being a moral contribution from Islam. Personally, I am neither a muslim, nor do I dress modest but I believe in live and let live. I think , just an opinion, that Islam needs more people like him speaking out in the mainstream, he did a wonderful job on establishing a point that anyone without malice or bigotry would understand about the Hijab. Thank you for the enlightening video.
what a beautiful and educated point Sheikh had made here. thanks for uploading. besides dressing modestly is not related only to women but to men as well. something that seems to be missed out sometimes
Lynnphotos84 said "And a lot of Christians do (wear Hijab)" I don't know where you are, mostly I only see other Muslimahs wearing hijab, but before I reverted to Islam, I was one of those Christian women who wore hijab. I actually had people say that I looked "more feminine" wearing hijab then not wearing. Not my reason for wearing it, I wore it for modesty, but if I look more like a woman in the process...why not? And if my hair doesn't look it's best, no one sees it anyway. :) Lady Ismat
This is so right. The non believers are only following mans law whether it is in their best interest or not. Then have the nerve to call it 'Fashion' or say "it's 2007!" Muslim women only get the hassle because these women are jealous that they are unable to dress like us. I mean it isn't such a big deal or struggle to wear it. However some people are unable to accept it or let it be in our rights!
Great video, very interesting and makes one think?I'm tired of seeing people say women are being oppressed because of the veil or similar coverings. How is that oppression?
The issue arises from the idea that Muslim women are forced to wear the headdress. If the women really do "want to" wear the headdress like this guy claims, then any issue arising about the headdress is obviously just a misunderstanding. I however, believe that if Muslim women were not pressured by their husbands to wear the headdress, than at least some Muslim women would choose not to wear them.
My response to this is something I realised that's very sad. Women have forgoten what the suffrogates fought for. Women should have the right to choose. I am tired of being asked why I never wear short skirts.
Yes...it is totally suppression and oppression of women to have to be naked just to look good. I wear hijab, and I am pretty, AND I look good! :) Lady Ismat
As it says in the first comment,"The only reason the catholic church has allowed the nuns to "modernise" their clothing is because they're trying anything they can to make up for their world wide paedophilia." This comment about paedophilia is in reference to why nuns are suddenly allowed be "modernised." Not refering to the title of the vid itself.
Thanks Good video xplained in simpler manner. I don't know why some people use offensive and abusive words on Islam. It's only faith respecting women.U can check why Mrs.Youvonne Redley converted to Islam after released from Taliban! None can hide truth at all. If Allah wish to convert everybody into Islam; it's easy; but who will never do becoz he demands that we have 2 find out this truth ourself! May Allah help us to find this beautiful religion very soon!
I'm sure most still do. You do know that there are dozens of types of Christian sects and everyone of them does not follow the same social code of conduct. I guess either sheikh saw some of the nuns getting driven by fashion or not following the dress-code properly OR otherwise he mistook some "pretending to be nuns" on the road as real ones. LOL
Yeah, I would like people to stop asking me so many stupid things about the hijab, and I think the world should accept Islam, wether they are muslim or not. Islam is not new anymore. Everyone has heard about it!! So, u non-muslims, stop harrasing me!
alhamdhu Lillaah brother! The women can run naked and it be accepted but the women can't cover themselves? Subhana Allaah. Is it because the society feels "bad" about their sinning? Is it because the modest muslim women make to non-muslim women feel "inadequate"? Allaah knows best. Alhamdhu Lillaah for the muslim women who cover themselves ONLY for the sake of Allaah!
dukeigthorm20= Dear friend im not sure how much knowledge u have about any society...If you had minimal knowledge about the muslims world you would have never said "Some muslim women choose not to wear them"..As the FACT is there are muslim women who do not wear the hijab i have friend and relatives who dont wear the hijab.By islamic law u CAN NOT force anything upon anyone it must be done for the sake of God, Modesty must come from the heart not because people are telling u to do so...PEACE!!!
@libyanspartan hahahaha ya very very true, and serously the half naked chicks could even get u in trouble for saying pls cover urself a little, while people and the law forces u too take of the covering we muslims have. for those who thinking no the law dont do that. it is fact that they slowly slowly doing it. they have already begun doin it in some of the schools. and it will get worse.
