    Thanks for this excellent range test and video. I've ordered a Miccus RX2 on the strength of it. I'll be using mine to transmit fox attracting calls to my portable speaker at least 80m away, so your demo was exactly what I was looking for. I was a little puzzled that I'd read an online review that said in regard to this equipment that "300ft is a fantasy", then I recalled that you had the transmitter on the bonnet of you truck. Having a metal base plate underneath can boost the range of at least some types of antenna.
    One thing I'll do when I get mine will be to test the range with and without a metal base plate. I'll probably make one with aluminium foil and cardboard. Come to think of it, I'll also try a back wall reflector too - just by removing two sides of a cardboard box and covering the rest with foil. Mind you this could have problems if the reflected signal interferes unfavourably with the direct signal. Anyway, can't wait to find out!

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never even thought about the cars "bonnet" acting as a ground plane, although I doubt the hood would interfere or help the transmitter as BT Transmits at 2.5 GHZ. You could however try a CD an inch or so behind the antenna. The CD will act as a reflector and may give some forward gain.
      73s and Cheers.

      Its like commercial fm radio broadcasting Bluetooth uses rf so a straight road it will go further because of line of sight try this in a town it will only go 100ft to many building i see this with wifi to i see a country wifi box in a home can go as far asthe outside of the garden 200meters away ina town 50ft because to many building i love Bluetooth because its digital more studio quality modern and clearer ❤

      Another thing with Bluetooth for stereo headphone digital does not drop to mono like with old wireless headphones you a fm chip on 800mhz and if you walk away it will drop to mono with Bluetooth because its digital doesnt require 19khz for stereo so in poor area it will not drop to mono may get jump but will not drop to mono

    Very fast comeback. You surprised me. So, I am in the process of seeking two different types of BT transmitters/receivers. One for my home theater and one for my car. Would you consider the Miccus Swivel device or the RTX 2.0 (using for both BT headphones and iPhone use) for the home? My optical digital output on the receiver is being utilized so I am somewhat confined to the analog 3.5mm. Is the optical digital out better than the 3.5mm for sound quality or performance in this case? Secondly, since I have to use the cigarette lighter plug in my car, can you recommend a BT transmitter/receiver for the car? I have no 3.5mm plug in the car.

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The digital output may sound a little better, if you use the RTX2.0 you have a choice of either 3.5mm and digital inputs.
      As for the cigarette adapter, I dont like any of them sound wise, dont get me wrong they work. But because they are a FM transmitter they tend to not have great audio quality and the output audio they have is low, so you have to crank up the volume on your car stereo to get sound. that being said, they do work. Here is a link to one that my Daughter uses. (she likes it a lot ) amzn.to/2PXbFzk

      breakerbroke23 thank you for your input. I will look at your link for the car adapter. Thank you for the RTX2.0 input. I was leaning that way but also saw your video on the swivel unit.👍👍. Does it really matter if one goes 3.5mm or the digital connection?

    Great Video! I came across this product after just buying 2 JBL Flip 4 portable bluetooth speakers. I have been testing them a bit indoors through walls at short range and as well as out doors and was quite disappointed with it's range (even in close range one or both of the speakers cuts out intermittently).
    Could this be used to play music from a laptop or smart phone bluetooth music source --- to the Miccus RTX 2.0 bluetooth connectivity enhancer --- to the two JBL Flip 4 speakers placed at range at different corners of a space outside or indoors? and also could the same concept application be used for 3 or more JBL Flip 4's?
    And also I've seen some people say when connected to two bluetooth speakers lags start happening and time noticeable differences can be heard when playing the same song on the 2 speakers.

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think the RTX could be used as a repeater. I have had different speakers when used as a pair, produce some delay. Some BT units are more or less comparable with each other. (coding ADAPT-X different versions of BT and so on).
      As far as range goes, that maybe due to other 2.4gig devices in your home, or some other kind of interference or something to that effect. If you think the RTX may have an issue, I would call Miccus.
      The People at Miccus have very good tech support, I suggest you call them. As far as using more than one Flip4, I have no experience doing so as I own only one. My flip4 has decent range.

  • @KK-om4ok
    @KK-om4ok 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a couple questions and or suggestions:
    1) you should compare it to another test with only using your phone to send music to the speaker without the transmitter.
    2) I guess you prove that it "transmits" great, but does it "receive" great?
    2.b -And if you use one to transmit and one to receive would it go twice as far?
    2.c -if you only used it as a receiver would you get the the same distances?

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) I have, and in the open I get maybe 35ft.
      2) The RTX receives signals pretty good but your phone can only send out a tiny signal due to the internal antenna within the phone. (its about the length of a staple)
      2b) Most likely, the external antenna on the RTX have quite a bit more "gain" that would improve performance. (that would be a great experiment. I may just do that:)
      2c) refer to 2
      Great comment... Cheers.

      You need to get a good quality Bluetooth transmitter, plug into you headphone out plug (like you are doing now) And turn off the Bluetooth in your lap top. I don't know of any Range extenders for BT. If you are using one, that may be your problem.

I have outside Bluetooth speakers and they’re connected to my phone via Bluetooth, but once I walk away from them about 50-70 feet with phone in hand....the sound gets really choppy and starts to cut in & out. My question is,,,,,
    should I have it in transmitting mode, and do I pair the Miccus 2.0 to my phone or to the Bluetooth speakers to get the range I’m trying to get???

      Doing a range test indoors would not be as good due to wall thickness, wiring, metal heating ducts, brick walls and so-on.
