One thing not mentioned in the video is that the adjustment bolts that go into the retaining catches might get stuck if they have been left alone for a long time. After viewing this video, I went out and replaced my headlamp bulbs and could not get the headlamp to come out. It was necessary for me to use a length of barstock as a lever on the exposed end of the bolt to work the headlamp free. This was no great task and once the bulbs were replaced, I was able to reinstall the headlamps with no difficulty. This is a good video that gets to the point without fanfare.
I had to go through about 10 videos before hearing someone finally mention how the headlight retainers work. I was having trouble removing the headlamp because I was pulling the tabs up as far as they could go instead of pulling them up just enough. Thank you for sharing!
So are the low and high beams on the same bulb? My 2011 low beams seem bright an will work with my factory fog lights on. But when I switch to “high” beams I barely notice a difference on the road or a wall an my fog lights shut off. Any ideas as to why my low/high settings look similar ? I’m tired of other cars flashing their lights thinking I have my high beams on when I’m reality I have my lows on. Any ideas or suggestions?
I just replaced the headlights on my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT, but when the left side light got stuck on what seemed to be nothing, I just got a saw and sawed the assembly out because the new ones I bought came with new screws anyway, all in all this video helped 100% with what I originally set out to do, thanks
I own a 2001 Mazda B3000(essentially a Ford Ranger) and my headlights do not remove like that, I have 3 post with little clips you need snap ring pliers to remove, and the one on the bottom of headlight a nightmare to reach.

+John Berning Thanks for watching! The Ford Ranger used the same lights from 2001-2011, so the parts are the same. The replacement procedure should be very similar for that entire year range!

how to adjust 2005 ford ranger new headlight to fit.
how to adjust new head lights to fit 2005 ford ranger edge.
These headlight retainer tabs are the most ingenious thing I've seen to attach headlights to a car, so far!

Good presentation. Would like to see headlight adjustments. Thanks
Great video, especially the closeup of the locking mechanism before reattaching the headlight assembly
these guys make this look so simple yet when i do it i end up breaking everything haha
How do you adjust the aim of the headlight? And how do you know they are aimed in the optimum target on the road with out blinding oncoming traffic?
my question
Perfect, I am putting in new aftermarket lights. Turned out fantastic
Your video works like a champ. One happy viewer.

Making a headlight replacement video for my ranger thanks
Doesn't replacing a headlight include adjusting the beam which can be done on a garage door?

2:05 I always end up breaking the tab.
On mine, the deflector in front of the bulb came loose and is laying in the bottom of the housing. can the unit be seperated or do I need to replace?
Thank you! (the slider behind is tricky to get back in place). Guess it's me.
are most ranger headlights the same style and fit? would a 2006 for say fit in my 2001?
