- Back into West Lindsey again today this is probably one of the smallest ones with covered so far made up of two distinct areas. One, a very small village, the other based around Torksey lock. There's very little information online about either of these places but I think I did a good job of them nonetheless.
Both situated along the A156 between Lincoln and Gainsborough, if you came here you might be a little bit disappointed at first but look a little deeper under the surface can you find this area of Lincolnshire is quite delightful. Whilst the main village doesn't really have much to write home about, heading up to Torksey lock will change all that.
Historically an area that was busy with barges and ketches it's the point where the tidal River Trent meets the Fossdyke canal. The White Swan provides everybody that comes here with a traditional country inn, including some rather interesting bar games!
The population of this place is very much on the retired side thanks to The Elms retirement complex next to the canal, and there are plenty of caravan parks around and a branch of Sheffield Caravans can be found here. If that's not enough every Saturday and Wednesday you can attend the car boot sale at Little London caravan park!
All of this can be found within the West Lindsey parish of FENTON.

Nice to see your view of our village you mentioned is there a chapel in Torksey Lock which there isn’t but there is an old one in Fenton opposite my house. Used to be a Wesleyan Chapel now business premises (it’s to the right of the new houses your showed). Still have the offer of a free book on our villages if you want one!
That might be the one I was thinking of. Something in the back of my mind told me there was a chapel somewhere like I mentioned, but it'd been such a long time since I'd been around there, plus I've maybe lost a few marbles since haha.

The carboot is on Wednesday and Saturday at 12 pm all year round can be quite good and big ln1 2el
I've been to it before a long time ago. Think I was in my teens. Lots of market traders there if I remember rightly too
