    Sir in the current case we are considering the box, why are we taking particularly a box ,why not other geometry? , can we take a sphere or cylinder in this case?

      For a spherical geometry, we consider a spherical Gaussian surface, for cylindrical, a cylindrical Gaussian geometry and so for a plane geometry, a plane Gaussian surface. Although we can use other geometries but that will make our calculations very tough and almost impossible. This is like when we measure the length of a plane surface, we use a flat scale. In the same manner for measuring the circumference of a circle, we don't use a flat scale because that will make our calculations much tougher. Thanks
