@@missviktoriya I would recommend checking out Real Self for reviews for board certified plastic surgeons if you do it. But frankly if I could go back I wouldn’t do it again. I have had so many complications with mine and I went to a top surgeon in Orange County that specializes in eyelids - it’s years later and I have chronic dry eye, can’t close my eyes all the way, have weak lid muscles, and can’t fully blink. Additionally, I can’t wear contacts anymore and my eyes are now too dry for LASIK, so I’m stuck with unappealing glasses for the rest of my life. Think long and hard about if it’s worth the risk.

I had monolids all my life then last year, my eyes naturally turned double. Not at the same time though, 8 months apart.
My eye doctor referred me to a Oculoplastic surgeon to see if one eye had developed ptosis or not. It wasn’t ptosis and she couldn’t figure out how my one eye became double lids. She said there is no way to have surgery to return the eye to monolid and offered me an option to surgery to make my other eye into double. I never opted for surgery and 8 months later the other eye became double lidded on its own.
I was also diagnosed with blepharitis (meibomian gland dysfunction) so perhaps that had something to do with it. I also suspect maybe the lash serum I used for 4 years may have killed some orbital fat and thus my eyes developed an outer crease 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also to the people saying they do it to look like white people that's not true, most Asians get double eyelid surgery to look like OTHER ASIANS with double eyelids, not white people. Not everyone is beautiful. The world loves to gaslight ugly people. It’s okay that not everyone is beautiful, because no one earns their natural looks. And a person is so much more than their looks, but let’s stop pretending like looks don’t affect peoples’ lives, or saying that they should embrace everything. Sometimes, people want to improve their appearance to feel happier or even get better opportunities and that’s okay. If people chance their own happiness, we should let them instead of pretending like everyone is beautiful and like they’re wrong for wanting to change their looks.
It’s messed up to tell someone who knows that their appearance is making their life more difficult, that they’re not enlightened enough to see the beauty in themselves and that their struggles aren’t real, and all they need to do is, “love themselves.”

Melting fat is a tough one..Bc you are born with a certain number of fat cells and they enlarge when you gain weight. Cryo is very painful btw and after Linda Evangelista telling the world her story, you know she wasnt alone.
The other issue with fat removal is if you gain any weight, your cells enlarge to fill the space of what was previously removed. What that looks like post procedure is large lumpy loose skin bc there is less support to the skin. Things that are good are RF Lipo but not many do that, tummy tucks, mini lipo bc it's less of a shock to the body.
Btw, you'll never ever get rid of cellulite completely. As women even as children, we had and will always have cellulite, bc it's the structure of how fat in skin for women is shaped. Men don't have cellulite, bc they don't have fat chambers, we do. For ppl with medical conditions like lymphedema, lipo really helps them and it's very needed for their condition.
Diet and exercise is the best but RF, helps. For regular treatments, Emsculpt. It will build muscle as it burns fat and endermologie. That is also good for smoothing out the chambers/cellulite.

I wholeheartedly agree about the eyelid thing, why does everyone have to try to look white?!?
You are beautiful as you are! I am white and have an African daughter and I have never let her chemically straighten her hair for the same reason. She has the most beautiful curly hair and many a while woman has spent hundreds of dollars to perm their hair to look like hers and she now realizes how beautiful it really is. She has heat straightened it a couple times and looks like a different person but that washes out, it’s not permanent.

    • @Conorator
      @Conorator ปีที่แล้ว +1

If your daughter wants to do something with her appearance *because she likes how it looks,* don't try to prevent her from doing it as long as it is safe. If she wants straight hair, let her get straight hair. If she tries to straighten her hair because other people pressure her to do it then that's a problem, but from the way you've worded your comment, it doesn't seem that way.

    • @raerohan4241

Plenty of Asians (including East Asians) have double eyelids naturally. In fact, in some ethnicities, such as the Japanese, double eyelids are more common than monolids.
And monolids are present in non-Asian races, such as Native Americans.
So getting double eyelid surgery does NOT mean someone is trying to look white.

Why are so many people in the comments saying "Asian eyes". East Asians can be born with both monolids and double eyelids naturally, so please just use monolid vs double lid eyes.

Absolutely true. I find the only thing that most Asians fall under is an epicanthal fold and less sunken eyes than Europeans. Besides that half of asians have natural double eyelids.

Hooded eyes are just as beautiful as the ones with the folds. As a makeup artist I love doing makeup on all face types, eye types, skin types. It's all wonderful!

Nothing wrong with having it done! Do what makes you happy! Be sure to research doctors and look at their before and after pics and see what patients say about their experience:)

If there is nothing wrong, it doesn't need fixing. I would only consider it, if it bothers you so much, you can't live life normaly. The best thing you can do for yourself and your body is leave all that shame behind, go on a a healing journey and appreciate yourself for who you are!! there are so many people out there who have similar eyelids to you, would you consider them ugly too? I'm sure you wouldn't, because there is nothing to be self-conscious about there :-)

I'm not trying to stop you from doing any surgery but honestly i think learning to embrace ourselves would be the best of choice since I've learnt how some things that i don't really mind about is actually something that people thought was pretty and vice versa 😊 You don't have to feel pressured by the trend as it keeps changing with time 😊❤️

The eye lid one cracked me up- Dr that can be said about ALL cosmetic plastic surgery. It’s a shame people need any of it to feel attractive in our shallow societies

This! I had the exact same thought. Feeling that you have to have ANY plastic surgery to feel more attractive, is sad and wrong.

I 100% percent agree about the eyelid folds. Each person is beautiful in their own way. We shouldn’t change ourselves to try to live up to the unattainable standard of beauty set forth by a bunch of rich assholes. A little off topic but not really… I just saw articles about how people are giving Selena Gomez a difficult time for being “heavy”. Um… seriously???? She’s gorgeous. Most women would kill to have a body like hers. Who is out there bashing her & saying she’s “heavy”?! It’s disgusting to say such things about people. We shouldn’t be judging ourselves or each other. We should just be able to accept ourselves & each other for the beautiful, unique creatures that we are.

a friend of mine at my student exchange in Tokyo 8 years ago, I always had a little crush on her, she was beautiful inside and out and had a very special face, I saw yesterday on Facebook that she's had her beautiful monolids removed. She looks completely different and while I respect her decision, I'm sure it was heavily influenced by society and her peers telling her her eye shape was undesirable though she was so beautiful. her body, her choice. but I was sad to see it ngl.

Lmao so i got double eyelid JUST so i can apply eyeliner without it disappearing when i opened my eyes 🤣🤣🤣
The added benefits i ended up with afterwards is that i can pop in my contacts with less of a struggle and my eyelashes no no longer bend towards my eye surface, scratching them over time.
Do i regret the loss of the monolid look? Some times but i love my new eyes lol
