      In my USMC days, there existed a very specific type of CWO. Called a Gunner. It's an infantry E7- Gunnery Sgt. That E7 becomes a Gunner if he chooses to go that route and that man is the subject matter expert on all weapon systems present within that regiment.
      They're not going to hold billets like NCO/officers though.

    What’s your opinion?

    • @RobthaBlak
      @RobthaBlak  6 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      There pay and responsibilities are different. Warrants are still underneath the O grade side. The warrant is a specialist in a specific technical field that is it where as the O grade will have a specialty but will become essentially a generalist i.e. he might be a signal officer commanding a transportation company. O grade tend to be more political in a sense. So they do get paid more, even though a CW2 is equivalent to a Capt. and a CW3 to a Maj being that is where the field officer level begins. Way of life for a warrant is really good and pretty much equal to O grade if not better because you are in a league of your own. Also my Warrant Officer Expertise has set me up for my civilian job due to the technical part.

      The best approach is to get in touch with an assessions NCO. They are part of retention. They will help you complete your packet and send it to the board.
      The process is pretty straight forward. Once you complete WOC's you become a warrant. The comissoning paperwork is done then.

    • @RobthaBlak
      @RobthaBlak  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the needs of the Army the answer is yes! However to go on the “O” grade side, you will need to have your bachelors degree. I know as of now and it is kind of drying up, but there is a demand for cyber officers. If you’re a cyber warrant officer to put in your packet to become a cyber oh great officer would be a little easier because of the demand. However regardless of your warrant officer rank you will go in as a second Lieutenant. Once you’re a second Lieutenant I believe you have to go through that whole pipeline.

      Many of the fields warrant officers are in are fields that they have spent years as enlisted persons building experience. That experience building process can take 5-10 years give or take. One notable exception are the aviation warrant officers. Many come out of the enlisted ranks, but some go into flight training right after basic training. Becoming a pilot is a specific skill that an enlisted person cannot gain prior experience at because these days there are no enlisted pilots.

    Chief! The WO-1 is comparable to a 2nd Lieutenant. CWO-2 is comparable to a 1st Lieutenant. The CW3 is akin to a Captain because the CW3 can command a Company or Detachment. The CW4 is Comparable to a Major and you usually find them at Battalion level or higher. Very rarely at company level. The CW5, or Master Warrant Officer, is generally a staff position at Division Level or higher. They also end up at Service Schools as instructors or OIC's at MOS producing schools training Junior Warrant Officers. I went through the Warrant Officer Certification Course at APG, MD. Best six months of my career because it challenged me mentally as well as physically and it pushed me beyond what I thought was my limits. The course also proved that we needed to psay attention to details.

    • @RobthaBlak
      @RobthaBlak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CW3 is when a warrant becomes field grade.
      Thats why I did the comparison from there. But true usually 3 and above will be usually brigade and above... battalion is where you will mostly see 2's. What is Warrant Officer Certification Course? I know Warrant Officer Candidate Course but not that unless it was a rename.

      Sounds just like something a hateful Dick would say! Warrants make up less than 2% of the Army. We don't interfere with NCO's work, we are an elite team that use to be NCOs but made the cut to become quiet professionals.. only a few have the privilege to make it, although many try. We hold one of the hardest schools in the military to complete. Many NCOs try and fail, so we who make it are worthy.
