My lord this was probably the most boring comment to read ever, sorry guys!
Man, thank you for the part about not worrying about when companies pay their dividends. I see a lot of people investing based around having income every month, or every week and whatnot. It's more important to invest in good companies.
I’ve been contributing to index funds (maxing out my 401k and Roth IRA) for the last 12 years. After starting to watch your videos, I’m now motivated to give DGI a try. I always heard about it but your videos make it seem much less complicated. I’d like to retire before we’ll 59.5 and it’s good to know qualified dividends are tax exempt below a certain income level. Keep up the good work and I hope 2020 is a good year for you.
I once heard the word job stood for Journey Of the Broke... and it’s true. Not always because of the money, but because of the fact that people are like you said, “stuck” working jobs that don’t like leaving them “broke” in many different forms. Thanks Andrei for your video!

I have some dividend stocks and etfs, going to go more toward dividends. Also, need to be careful because some companies pay high dividends when they project lower profits, and lower stock prices (dividend trap).
You sir are the ONLY person literally on TH-cam, or the internet, that has shown a practical method of making practically 100% passive income that actually WORKS. You basically take people by the hand and show how to do so step by step like a good friend would. You do this by getting straight to the point without piddling around with garbage that doesn’t work. You have been inspiring me for the last week or so and have been building my own portfolio. I sink almost everything I have into it and try to live below my means. Thanks buddy!

The fact that you’re able to combine magic with personal finance makes your channel one of the most interesting in the niche! Keep up the dividend growth my friend 👍
Very enlightening! I wish everyone could see this video. I think as a society we need to get out of the mindset of ONLY having a job as a means of income. We all need multiple streams of income and dividends are a great source of income to supplement other streams of income.
Reggie Bryant they should teach it in school. Unfortunately the system of indoctrination wants to keep ppl as slaves and workers. So many ppl are very confused about it so never attain it
Always invest, but that doesn't have to mean into stocks or funds specifically. When most people are 19, they could invest all their spare money and it would take a really long time to add up to much. I knew a girl that was exceedingly frugal and saved her money, with the goal of traveling. I think she visited a few places, maybe 2 or 3 other countries, and after many years she only had 10k saved up. Probably not invested if i had to guess, just in a bank account. I think that proper investment should be cyclical, invest in short term, invest in long term, invest in stability/security, then start over again. What i mean by that is several things. First of all you can invest more than money. You have limited resources, including time, energy, attention, memory, money, etc. Someone your age should probably invest in themselves first, as that will yield the fastest and biggest return, the best ROI. If you invest all those things into your own education, self learning, studying hard so you score high on entrance exams and have a high gpa so you can get scholarships and grants you don't have to pay back. You could get all sorts of qualifications that allow you to up your earning potential that are a good return on the investment of the time and money. You could pursue certification in a skilled trade, a college degree, real estate license, all sort of things, that if you are smart with how you do it, you could work while in school, pay most of your way through, and for a few thousand dollars and with very little debt, have doubled or tripled your earning potential in a short amount of time. Kids who earn college credits in highschool can sometimes finish a 2 year college study program in 18 months, be under 20, and ready to earn 50k a year or more. If you genuinely doubt your own capabilities to turn that investment into more income, maybe you are better off putting that investment into others, find someone who looks like they're shooting for the stars and hitch your wagon to them. Be the most supportive friend you can be, help them in every way you can, save your money, and when they say "i had a brilliant idea for a business, here let me tell you all about it." then you say "i've got savings! lets start it together!" By working hard to support their dreams, you get to ride the wave to the top as well. If you work at mcdonalds as a fry cook, your ability to save for investing is severely hampered, you could work there decades while penny pinching, and still not have enough income from investments to quit that job. (though if you work at a mconalds for decades and you haven't moved up, there may be something severely wrong with you.) Once you've sorted the income situation, then your best return on investment likely shifts to longer term assets. After you have built those longer term assets for a while, I would look at investing in your security and stability. You can look online and find out what the short and long term prospects for your career field are. You could consult with a financial adviser or research for yourself what the best ways are to shelter some of your assets from economic downturn are, plan for worst case scenarios. I like the idea of buying some precious metals and a home that is small and preferably sustainable, something you could afford the utility and tax bill on even if you lose everything else, and you could expect to keep that house in a bankruptcy. Maybe you need some training in a different career field that has longer projected growth and usefulness. Who knows. Then once you've kind of established a bit of security, circle back to looking at short term ROI. This could be more education or qualifications to help your earning potential, it could mean spending more of your time and energy on networking, meeting new people, find people willing to kind of mentor you and working with them. Call up old bosses, college professors, anyone who has helped you in the past and might have some ability to help you in the future, and show that you have interest in how they are doing so that maybe they will think of you when some opportunities come by them. Whatever the form of this type of investment, it's just the idea of shifting your focus and your revenue moreso to increasing your ability to earn over the short term. Then after a period of growth in this, back to long term. These cycles don't have to be forever, like i said you can learn a lot that amplifies your ability to learn with a short time in college, be out there and earning much bigger by 20. Say long term investing 3 years, then spend a year building a security net for yourself, You're only 24 at this point.
I should add that you don't necessarily have to do this cyclically, you could be doing this all simultaneously, a little at a time, but I think pursuing increasing your base ability to generate revenue in a slower fashion, mathematically will work out to less money over the long run.
Wow, good work man. As a Dad, i obviously cant be as frugal. When i can, i buy dividend paying stocks. my three absolute favorites are all owned by the same corp and pay out monthly dividends and had since 2008. Tickers are GOOD, GLAD, GAIN.

There are brands that have the style and same or better quality as designer brands, that you can catch on sales, clearance, or at thrift, for a lot less, but will still make you feel good about yourself without hurting your bank account. Some people get so addicted to those kinds of finds they can go overboard on it and spend money unnecessarily, but it's worth having a list of stuff you want, budget for it, and shop around until you find what you want for the price you want.

"I need to visually see someone do something, before I fully understand how to do it." I think you might be a visual learner or even possibly kinsthetic learner like me. In school we took the Vark test where I found out I'm an Aural and Kinsthetic learner. The type that has to be hands on while someone is explaining it in order for it to click. The visual learner is the see'er, the aural is the hearer, and the kinsthetic is the hands on learner, there's one more I think, but I cant remember. Don't feel like you have a learning deficiency, everyone is different and learns differently. :) And loving the vid! Learning alot from this.

What you said is technically true, but lets be honest, the companies you should want to buy stocks from that give dividends usually pay jack shit in taxes so no it wouldn't be double taxation. Just saying.
@TreeFiddy people new to stock trading should stay with big divident paying companies and only buy. You always lose money if you trade without experience
Learning the market is key. Monitoring the market should be a hobby. Every time my dad turns on the news, he watches the news and Im just glancing at the S&P/NSE /TSX bulletins underneath. And I love it. It gives you a good understanding of how much you should pay for a stock. Put in limit buy and sell orders and its going to be the easiest money you make in your sleep (if you wake up late and the market is already half way to close time like me).

Andrei, You Don't Have A learning deficiency! the reason you like pictures and doing things by experience, hands on, is because your brain's representational system is kinesthetic. It's a slower way of learning if you can't do hands on. That means you learn by doing. Visuals learn quickly by just seeing something. Visuals also tend to be neater, and more organized. Auditory learners are better when they have no other distractions and can just listen to the info. If they're reading, then it has to be quiet. I'm Kinesthic so I can totally relate! You can have A combination of two that are your primary representational systems and depending on the situation your brain will adjust to the situation. Love your personality so much! I'm learning so much!

I started saving 200 bucks since October and my first small goal is to get 3000 bucks a month in 2020. I initially thought of this as living on just 50% of it and invest the other 50% to my two investing accounts that I also started in October. One focused on real estate and the other one is "Global target equity" in euros.
Thats amazing Andrei, i would like to start my own dividend journey as well, unfortunately, its harder to buy american stocks from my country, besides, Portugal taxes you 35% on dividends coming from foreign companies. I might start with some national companies though. Gl mate

I might try this method, as a 18 year old all this stuff is so overwhelming and there are so many options and it takes so much learning about something ive never known about, you just earned a new subscriber.
Getting rich on dividends alone is a loser streak. You gotta get into the gold game first, then do some dividends for fresh flow of investment cash, and then you start buying/selling to make that sweet cash crop yields.
Been buying more dividend stocks lately due to your passion for them, and yes, it's nice seeing a little money roll in from them. But I also diversify a lot. My method of investing is not for the faint of heart, but as of now I'm sitting at 12% overall growth, so apparently I'm doing something right.

You break things down so elegantly. I’ve been watching your videos daily and have finally built the confidence to begin my investment journey.
I’m one of the 2 girls that watch your channel. I’d say the more comfortable a woman looks, the wealthier she is.
Man, thank you for the part about not worrying about when companies pay their dividends. I see a lot of people investing based around having income every month, or every week and whatnot. It's more important to invest in good companies.
So true. I look for dividends that most typical TH-camrs don't mention.

Keep up the good work and I hope 2020 is a good year for you.
my goal is at least 53. thats when my company gives me a full pension. 33 years
I once heard the word job stood for Journey Of the Broke... and it’s true. Not always because of the money, but because of the fact that people are like you said, “stuck” working jobs that don’t like leaving them “broke” in many different forms. Thanks Andrei for your video!

Don't get me wrong i enjoy that kind of stuff too, but i only get them done 1-2 times a year for a holiday or special occasion, and keep my wardrobe girly but capsule so i wouldn't have to spend $300 a season on clothes i am never gonna wear

Very enlightening! I wish everyone could see this video. I think as a society we need to get out of the mindset of ONLY having a job as a means of income. We all need multiple streams of income and dividends are a great source of income to supplement other streams of income.

Slow. Down agreed
Being 19 I’m telling all my friends to invest I tell them the 9-5 isn’t forever
Fabio Beast be patient and don’t let others tell you different
(though if you work at a mconalds for decades and you haven't moved up, there may be something severely wrong with you.)
Once you've sorted the income situation, then your best return on investment likely shifts to longer term assets.

Another reason why dividends are tax free is because companies already paid income tax on profit, so taxing them again will be double taxation.
Thanks so much for that info
Double taxation isn't okay... on the rich.
For taxable accounts, dividends are not tax free.
What you said is technically true, but lets be honest, the companies you should want to buy stocks from that give dividends usually pay jack shit in taxes so no it wouldn't be double taxation. Just saying.

Getting rich on dividends alone is a loser streak. You gotta get into the gold game first, then do some dividends for fresh flow of investment cash, and then you start buying/selling to make that sweet cash crop yields.
