WCVB Commercial Breaks (January 6, 1985)

Taken from a repeat airing of The Thorn Birds, airing on ABC affiliate WCVB-TV (channel 5) in Boston. ABC originally aired the mini-series in March 1983, and I have breaks from that on my channel as well.
WCVB was billed as "Metromedia Boston" in station IDs, referencing its then-current owner. After Metromedia was acquired by Fox later that year, WCVB was sold to Hearst Television who owns it now. After that, all of Hearst's stations were ABC affiliates, aside from WBAL in Baltimore which was CBS and later NBC.

Let's not forget ABC 9 KMBC Kansas City. It TOO was an ABC affiliate owned by Metromedia. It's still is an ABC affiliate today, but now, owned by Hearst.

Flash forward to today, most of Hearst's stations are now either ABC or NBC affiliates & a few of them are affiliated with other networks, such as The CW (KCWE in Kansas City & WKCF in Central Florida) and CBS (KCCI in Des Moines & WLKY in Louisville). As of this writing, none of Hearst's stations are FOX affiliates.
