    Can't overstate how much I love this force. The freehand is lovely, the converting/customising is flawless, just the overall quality is incredible. I said it before, but it's stunning work!

    I hope you all enjoy the video, it's a little hard to crank them out at the moment, but there are more Heresy videos coming, first Rite of War video covering the Armoured Spearhead, Head of the Gorgon and Ironwing is the first planned, another Q and A, and of course End Times content.
    I also want to do a video covering the 'negativity' of this channel.

    Another amazing video. You inspired me to come back to the hobby and get into heresy with your getting started vids, and further again to work hard at conversions with videos like this. Thank you for your commitment to the community.

    Nice description of the theme, good discussion of the history of each model and the painting choices you made, nice mention of the "audience" being just yourself, cool to include Easter eggs of friends painting styles. Looks like a great army and I hope it holds up in battle! Could we get some pictures of this army battling your foes when you go to the event?

    Wow- beautiful job again, Macca- I really like how you put the bolt pistol in the holster “grip-forward” on your sergeant on the bike, in proper cavalry fashion. Really awesome- attention to little details like that make my day, man- thanks for sharing these guys with us. (Jesus- don’t even get me started on that Achilles/Proteus work of art!) Really inspired me to spend the day converting models-

    I had never seen your minis before and I did no expect you to be this skilled. No offense, it's just that most tabletop youtubers who aren't exclusively about painting aren't the greatest of painters. Your models look really neat, I like them a lot!

    I always wanted a White Scars army in 40k but was put off by the model choices. This is by far the best White Scars army I've seen, hands down. I like your explanation and the reasoning behind your conversions. GL at your event.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, it's really more an event where I'll have some beers and catch up with old friends. Scars are a hard army because there is nothing interesting being done with them. I set out to break that mold and to make something unique and with a strong Asian theme.

      Great? Maybe, probably not, not with the speed I paint, I'd really have to slow down and take my time to produce some really high-quality stuff. In any case, if I didn't feel I was any good it would be in real poor taste to shit on other people's hobby by criticising things like Armies on Parade.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always about theme before function with me. For example, a Spartan over an Achilies makes a ton more sense with my 10 Gorgons and Forge Lord, but the Achilies as the battering ram to break the walls is more thematic and it gave me the opportunity to convert something unique to my army alone.

    Here's hoping The Buried Dagger is Scars for the DG. Here's to a fantastic book, that got us all interested in a fantastic and underrated chapter. Bogles my mind how WS are made so good with such little coverage, and are like the only sci fi take on Mongols.

    • @TheOuterCircle

      They are actually really really simple. An airbrushed base coat of 20:80 Vallejo Rust and Wood, drybrushed with some slightly lightened Zamesi Desert.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no, it can be both hard and easy, you just need to make it easy by making good choices in how you base coat and layer paints. Don't do light over dark, you work up to it. Keep the palette as simple as you can, lay out the paints you need.

  • @ExileDCC
    @ExileDCC 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really nicely painted and converted. I love the White Scars aesthetics, and you've brought them about with a very cool, flavorful approach. I watched a video from Bandai (link here: th-cam.com/video/yVHI7nKMqlE/w-d-xo.html ) not long ago that showed some of their manufacturing and mold sculpting processes on youtube and it reminded me of some of the videos this channel has done on the subject. Do you think GW or Forge World will ever give us a similar peek behind the curtain? I know it's sort of apples to oranges comparing Gunpla to GW/FW games, but it's hard at times not to compare price and quality. That said I think a lot of the hobby skills do overlap between the two; I enjoy both Gunpla and miniature painting myself. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the subject, thanks.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      GW won't show that because you'd realise that the tactical squads they sell for $72 are made in 45 seconds with 7 cents of plastic. The way GW sells it now is that each sprue is lovingly hand crafted by English artisans trained in German engineering shops.
