    Sheila Hodgson wrote a series of radio plays based on the notes left by M.R. James for stories he had, as he put it, 'tried to write'. Never broadcast as a series per se they appeared occasionally over many years, finally culminating in The Boat Hook in the early 1990s, which I've already posted...

    Excellent naration and acting, especially by David March as M. R. James. It is an entertaining story, first broadcast on BBC radio in 1977.

    Didn’t like this at all. You can certainly tell M R James didn’t write it. The melodramatic acting didn’t help.
