I wouldn’t complain about either but I like the layout of the main floor on the first one best. Still $250 K over what you could get just a few years ago! These homes were in the &350-400K range in 2009 when we built ours.

There are similar layout laned homes and duplexes in Calgary for $550k fully upgraded, there will be a housing market crash soon, probably will see prices fall by 30%. It’s not a matter of IF, but WHEN.

You don’t need kids for a 3 bedroom home. One bedroom can be for crafting and the other for guests. For resale, a 3 bedroom is better for breeders who have kids so even being childfree there’s value in the 3 bedroom.

Yes many designs have that over the garage. The bonus room is a great idea, usually these rooms are above the garage. You would not want a bedroom there due to noise and cold. So the homes have a common family hangout area, I lived in Calgary for a long time and it's a family oriented city and builders cater to that.

neither, they both have massive glass garage doors, anyone walking by can see what's in your garage, and they're both no more than a few feet from your neighbors house, I am not a sardine I like my space, if there's a neighbor anywhere within a kilometer, its not spacious enough.

Since they are show homes from the same builder, they usually connect it in the middle for easy touring the two models without having to go out of one to get into the other. Once they get sold they disconnect it and finish the house and garage before possession.
