Did you notice that Asos does not airbush stretchmarks on swimsuit photos?? I saw this a week ago and I was so pleasently surprised and I think it's so nice things like that are changing and we're seeing models as "real life women" and not as these perfect women with no flaws 🙂
I got stretch marks on my shoulders and on my stomach as a teen. I played hockey and rugby throughout my teens and was quite broad. No matter how much weight I've lost they've never gone(also two pregnancies) . I've had a lifetime of not showing my shoulders and covering up everything. Sadly not comfortable in my skin and would love to get rid of the ones on my shoulders! 34 years of feeling disgusting and inadequate. Nice to hear others share the same problems. Thank you Nadine.
I was 22 with my first pregnancy when I woke up and had huge purple and red vertical stripes covering my stomach. I had been using oils and cocoa butter several times a day because during puberty I got the white stretch marks on my breasts, bottom, and hips. I was absolutely devastated and it took me about ten years of trying anything I could get my hands on to realize nothing was really going to help. It took me another few years to not be embarrassed about them. I’m 42 and I finally am ok with them. This video is awesome. No one talked about stretch marks when I was younger and until very recently I had no idea that such a large percentage of the female population had them. We need more women like you.
This was VERY empowering thank you ladies! Nadine I’m the same as you, I’m a taller girl so have exactly the same stretch marks as you and was mortified at 13 when they appeared out of nowhere! I don’t care as much now as I’ve had them for so long nearly a quarter of a century, they’re the same as yours so faded and I think they look quite nice - your body is amazing by the way!!. Xxxx PS You two could be sisters!! You’re both so beautiful xxxx
Bless both of you. You have freed me from my own shame and embarrassment about my stretchmarks. OMG the mental anguish of will my man still love me because of my stretchmarks, will other women give me grief about my marks... UGHHH I'm letting all that go! Thank you!
I got mine as a teenager as well, when I shot up a fair bit practically overnight. I’m 30 now, and tried Deciem’s Retin-oil for a few weeks and seen considerable improvement. Even my super sceptical husband was impressed. Thank you for telling it like it is!
This is amazing, thank you! I agree completely about feeling better about them by seeing other women showing that they have them. Mine are very like yours and appeared in a similar way, they seemed to just arrive when I stopped being a competitive gymnast when I was 18. While I'm used to them now, I'm still terrified of getting more, it's the one thing that really worries me for some reason!
Thank you so much for this video. Sometimes I forget that it's common for people to have these and that a lot of the pictures I see of "beautiful people" aren't untouched raw images. I tend to judge myself harshly and it helps to see reality through the eyes of others.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video!! I have been so self conscious of my stretch marks for most of my life. I wish I could own mine, but I've come to accept them as part of my life story.
How refreshing and how needed. I, too, got puberty stretch marks on my hips and thighs, then all over my stomach during three pregnancies. I had always been deeply ashamed of them, but the movement to acknowledge them and even celebrate them, has started to change my mind. I feel that this topic strikes right at the heart of what it means to be a woman, and how we have been encouraged (via advertising, mainly) to feel less than complete in so many ways since we were teenagers. I’m saying ‘enough’ now, and this is thanks to women such as yourselves who are bringing this subject out into the open. Thank you!
I have exactly the same story of getting stretchmarks at a young age while growing up (i am 5'9) at the same place (sides and inner tighs) and till now I am a bit bothered with them striving for perfection in body (my vision of perfection is subconsciously shapened by magazines, for sure). I say HUGE THANK YOU for sharing the story and photos. It is encouriging! Seeing that in my puberty would have helped me in accepting such body changes and percieving them as something absolutely normal.
Thank you Nadine and Grace for having this conversation. To be honest it is about time. Stretch marks are normal and almost everyone has them. I got stretch marks on my inner thighs growing up and again on my tummy during pregnancy. My two sons also got them growing up, they are both over 6 foot tall. You look fab by the way and have a super figure. I can totally resonate with Grace on pregnancy, birth, stretch marks and motherhood. The whole experience was such a sock for me, I honestly think motherhood is the hardest job in the whole world. I don't think you can put in into words but obviously Grace has managed and I am dying to read her book. I totally agree that your life changes from the moment you get pregnant and it is never the same again. Nor is your body, your time, your energy, your brain, your priorities and yes you have to learn to be a mother, it didn't just happen for me. Super work Nadine and Grace, more photos of stretch marks are indeed needed so they become normal for everyone to see.
OMIGOD. Nadine, seriously you're amazing. I'm forwarding this to everyone I know. I loved this chat on every level and I just wanna hug you both for doing this. I don't have kids but I'm quite happy to read this having been raised by a mum who never glossed over being pregnant and in fact hated it-however did it 4 times lol. Such a great video to put up just before Women's Day!
I had no stretch marks after my first pregnancy, however my second pregnancy was with twins, I was only 5 ft and size 6/8,size 3 shoe, so I was tiny and my babies were born a month early weighing 5lb and 5lb 4oz, and I had horrendous stretch marks, not only stretch marks but a huge amount of loose skin and my stomach muscles were also ripped, it was so bad that during my 3rd pregnancy I had to wear a girdle to keep the baby in place. I had a tummy tuck done a year after my last pregnancy, that was 26 years ago. The tummy tuck experience was awful, I'm glad I done it now but at the time I thought I was dying.
I got mine on my inner knees and thighs at the age of 14, due to an anti-epileptic/anti-convulsive/cortisone treatment I was put on, following a serious traffic accident (head trauma). I was horrified and thought they were some kind of a fat deposit, tried poking at them with needles :) They were white right from the get go, no red marks whatsoever. It was right around the time when I got my period and really hard for me, because I had no body issues until then. I have heard that some people lessened the appearance by using dermarollers, but the fractional laser seems more promising. Thank you for this video Nadine :)
I adore you Nadine so much! I rave about you constantly because you have really helped me get my skincare shit together. My friends and family now come to me and I simply parrot you. Thank you for all your help!
Just love how everything you do is so honest and you make me laugh thank you and can wait to see what being part of the Gleam team brings for you congrats lovely lady xx
Wow! Thank you for the info. I have scars from surgery and found the bit about bio oil very helpful. Love how honest and open you are about all things beauty!! xxxxx
This was so helpful! I, also, am 5'11 and consider myself an attractive woman. However, I have sturggled my whole life with my, now silver, stretchmarks. Sadly, although sorta funny, I feel more insecure of them with my recent break-up. So worried of what a new man might think of them.. Like Nadine said, though, she loved Yonce even more when she saw her marks. Funny how we're so hard on ourselves..
Hi Nadine, after two pregnancies my stomach looks similar to Grace’s but worse! Can’t remember what it used to look like now, I’ve just learned to live with them. Great video.
I had two children, the first when I was almost 26, and the second when I was almost 39. I ended up with “zero” stretch marks, none on my breasts, stomach, legs or anywhere else. I feel the reasons I ended up with no stretch marks were number one, I gained only 20 pounds with each of my pregnancies, and number two, I have olive colored skin. My mother, who also had olive colored skin, had very few stretch marks after being pregnant 4 or 5 times. I did rub cocoa butter and Shea butter on my my body when pregnant both times, but I am not certain if these creams prevented stretch marks, or if it was simply my thicker, olive colored skin and gaining less weight than women today gain during pregnancy that prevented my getting stretch marks during my two pregnancies. Doctors were very strict about body weight gain in the US when I was pregnant 44 and 42 years ago.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for bringing this out. I have created 2 humans that left me with tummy stretch marks and from growing I already had hip stretch marks. I am 52 and want to try Exilis Ultra 360. Supposed to help skin tighten and stretch marks by creating collagen. I am currently 2 of 4 sessions in on my neck for tightening, no stretch marks thee thank God, but staring to sag. Results take 6-8 weeks as you have to grown new collagen. Time will tell if it’s worth it. Can’t wait to see your laser results.
I also got my stretch marks in my early teens during a growth spurt, they look just like your Nadine lol, but luckily I did not get any during my pregnancy! Great video!
Hysterical poor Jack must be scared for life! Nice link to the topic of stretch marks - have yo-yo dieted all my life so must have loads. Very brave ladies
Thank you so so much! I have stretch marks on the boobs and hips, from growing laterally! Got a bit of weight in my pre-teens and then overnight went from flat to 34c! It’s only with age and getting a bit wiser that I started accepting them. Also with the digital era and HD photos, I saw that, like you said, many celebrities have them too....if it’s ok for them, it is certainly ok with me now!
Hi Nadine. I gained too much weight with my first pregnancy and I got stretch marks. I recently had them layered and they are about 75% better. I will be posting a video about it soon. 💝💝💝
There are a few factors in removing stretch marks quickly. One resource I found which succeeds in merging these is the Vals vanish roadmap (google it if you're interested) definately the best resource that I have ever seen. Check out all the great info .
Short women get stretch marks too. I'm 5'2" if I stretch tall, and I have them on my inner thighs ... puberty again. I never worried about them, and none of the men who've seen them cared much, either.
Brilliant Nadine! I think your stretch marks look beautiful - you wouldn't even notice them on that body! I know it's all relative but I would be very very happy to have those instead of cellulite and saggy skin at 55 ;) xx
I couldn't believe it when u said u are 5ft 11, as I always imagined you to be about 5ft 4 or so, don't know why. Wow so stunning looking and tall too. Gorgeous
I loved your video ! My 8 yr old 3rd son once asked me what were those lines on my tummy (we were enjoying a friends pool) I responded "love marks" ! I chose to own them !! Thanks again !
My Mom had huge stretchmarks from giving birth to three children - and we all loved them, loved her soft belly! I eventhough mine are sometimes bothering me - they remind me of the comfort mom geve me!
I have stretch marks around my outer and inner thighs from early teen years. I’ve had zero stretch marks since then even with 4 pregnancies. They don’t bother me really at all nor embarrassed by them. I think if I had them on my stomach I would feel differently.
Really interesting. I have the same stretch marks as Grace after my first baby and currently pregnant with number two which has created more. I was going to try mirconeedling when safe to do so but as Nadine mentioned it didn't work which is disappointing. I'm not sure I will now. Will also try retinol when safe. It's so hard to accept this new person you become after becoming a mum and letting go of part of the person before. Will definitely check out the book!
I firstly had them when I was 16-17 and stopped competitive swimming. I was sooooo embarrassed to go to the beach! I felt bad about myself for manyyyy years when I realised almost every woman has them. I learned to live with them. I still don’t like them but I embraced the flaws. I intend to do sth about it.
Just commented on your insta photo, but thought I'd comment here too ;-p I got my stretchmarks when I got pregnant with my son. I was 16yrs old and 5ft (Im still 5ft lol) so I got them really bad. Im 37 this year and heard good things about microneedling... was going to get my partner to do it on my legs and pray for a miracle... but hearing your story has made me realise its gonna be a lot of pain for nothing :( Oh well lol xxx
Hi Nadine! I am in my 60’s and got stretch marks later in life mostly with gravity taking over on my breasts. Would love if something works but at my age, why bother. Everyone was using cocoa butter back in the day. Great info Thanks.
I've had them since I was 13 too, I'm 27 now, 5''10 and a size 8. I have them covering about 80% of my body (ankles, calves, knees, thighs, hips, bum, back even a few on my arms) I've never worn anything even remotely revealing or been on holiday anywhere hot because of them. They've ruined my life. Tried every cream known to man and body brushing, derma rolling, supplements etc. once you have them they aren't going anywhere, don't kid yourself.
I got them on my hips and thighs starting during early puberty too but mine were red and thick as I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I felt very ashamed of them for a long time. They are white like yours now but it took a long time to get there.
I developed breasts early and they grew quickly, but I was lucky to not develop stretch marks during that time. In high school, I had to have a lump removed and had a reduction at the same time. The swelling from the reduction surgery gave me stretch marks. How obnoxious is that!?
Grace brought it to my house as a gift and I had to put it up - I grew up loving my troll (it was huge much larger than this one) ... happy it made you smile X
I was told to use cocoa butter on my pregnant belly, so I used cheap ol' Palmers Cocoa butter lotion. Also 5'11" tall, but was lucky🍀and never got stretch marks from growth or pregnancy.
I think at 77 I've become used to my stretch marks! Weirdly I've no idea if I got any through growing too much too fast (I'm 6'1", size 12) because I never looked at my body until after babies I say 'weirdly' because nowadays it would be -- somehow then we never bothered. With my first pregnancy I got amazing purple/red/bruises on my belly and the babies were 10lb, 11lb and 9lb in that order. I'm always told I have a flat belly but I can tell you it looks as if the skin has turned into really crumpled silvery tissue paper from the ribs down! And because I could never find a swimming costume long enough I used to wear a bikini and put up with horrible comments from strangers.
I was 9lb 10 ounces and my poor Mum is just 5'4" and tiny - she can blame me for hers ... and I agree we are more self obsessed than we used to be and surrounded by so many so called perfect airbrushed images ... my Mother still hates her stretchmarks 55 years after I was born XXX
I used almond oil, I got some stretch marks that I didnt know existed until my son got to two years old. And all are them are covered by the bikini. I am so lucky. I wonder if the 2nd time will be as charming.
So interesting video! I am not that tall 1.63 cm but got my stretch marks at puberty do to gain weight and then loosing it and now (33) I bassically have them all in my body, they keep spreading all over sometimes I have to admit I am a bit lazy with creams but I drink almost 3 lts of water n I am a bit self conscious if I wear short pants or bikini but Im trying to care less. Thanks for this video girls! :)
Hi Regina drinking water won't help but getting a diet rich in vitamin C and zinc might because it is those two nutrients that your skin needs to make healthy collagen and elastin ... XXX also do try a retinol body lotion ... you have nothing to loose and it will do your skin good anyway
Hi there Nadine. Is there any type of oil that you can recommend just to rub on your skin daily to perhaps try avoid getting more stretch marks? I have stretch marks just pop up everywhere on my body but I've stayed relatively the same size my whole life ❤
I had PEP for 6 months of both my pregnancise (under the care of a specialist) - my stretch marks are cms across in places - I would LOVE silver lines. If you cut out my stretch marks and sewed me up I would probably go down a dress size. Anything for those type of marks?
Thanks for a great video again! Any help for cystic acne I get 3-4 huge cyst type spots on my chin that last 3-4 weeks then start all over again! I know they are hormone related but I use Paula’s choice skin care and benzoyl peroxide, have a clean diet, take probiotics, but still keep getting them! So painful and unsightly and they scar! Any ideas please? Struggling to find a mineral make up for combination skin too so advice on that would be great too Many thanks Xx
Hi Jemma Definitely worth cutting back on diary and sugar ... I wouldn't normally say this as I am not a nutritionist but your skin care routine sounds good to me already. Also wash your pillow cases and washcloths frequently on a boil wash - and your face towels too. Also your hands, I know it sounds simple but often we touch our jawline far too much. I love Laura mercier mineral foundation. X
OMG I can relate to this topic so much. I am 5'11 myself. I got the first stretch marks when I was 13 years old in the backside of my knees from growing too fast. I am 42 now and at peace with them. Curious if this laser treatment works though 💁♀️
I have been taking Lumity for a month now and I think it helps me sleep better and have more energy however so far I have noticed no difference in my skin. I never use face oils, in fact am generally not a fan of them, so haven't used that. X
Brilliant 2 boys no stretchmarks. Just used vasaline to ease the tightness. Not for stretchmarks. I put 4 stone on with boy number 2 lol. Really though very refreshing girls. Well done XxX 💖💗💝 Angela Jane Lomax
Hi Nadine! I am 28 years old, no kids and i have stretch marks on my hips since i can't even remember. I am not tall and i was around 50-52 kg since highschool. Also about 70% of my hair is white. I started to go white at 19. I don't stress about it. Maybe a little about the hair because i have to dye it so often😂😂 Anyway something crossed my mind when you mentioned vitamin e. How about consuming more vitamin c when you're pregnant or in general? Could that help preventing stretch marks since vitamin c is key for collagen? What do you think? Kisses😘😘
I agree I think vitamin C and Zinc is essential but how much is too much when you're pregnant? Should you take supplements when pregnant ? So many questions ... But thankyou for raising an intelligent point and I agree with X
Dear Grace, being given a magic working wand , ANY woman on planet earth would erase them. Any woman telling the truth , that is ... Good luck with those treatments Nadine. Keep us updated!
With all due respect, I wouldn't! Because it would be like telling my kid and anyone else who noticed that it's something that needs to be erased. And I don't think it is. I think if you want to get rid of them, fine, and if you don't, fine. I personally am not bothered enough to do so. Pores on the other hand... !!
Why do pores need to be erased but not stretchmarks? Especially if they were there even before your kid was born (hence no connection/no guilt/ no linked responsibility)? She was talking "magic wand" = not spending any time or effort on it. I understand the concept of embracing them when there is nothing to do about them , but ... a magic wand??? mmmmmmm....
ehehhe, no worries, i got it ;) !!! I was just trying to point out that considering what we , as women , go through in an epic search for beauty (and we watch this channel for that exact same reason), it sounds really hypocrite to say one would not use a quick easy way to erase stretch marks if there was one. Never mind anyway, yes ...
Cristina Risso yes definitely worth a try x also silicone sheeting worn at night and on days off can flatten red raised scars x you get it from a pharmacist
Hi Nadine, have you looked into medical tattooing? There are tattooist who can tattoo silver stretch marks with a flesh covered pigment to hide the stretch marks. It’s not 100 % fool proof said you tan, they will become obvious again. But I’ve seen impressive before and after photos of this.
Did you notice that Asos does not airbush stretchmarks on swimsuit photos?? I saw this a week ago and I was so pleasently surprised and I think it's so nice things like that are changing and we're seeing models as "real life women" and not as these perfect women with no flaws 🙂
Kaja Race I've noticed! Loved that 👍🏾
Kaja Race yes and I love it x
Kaja Race Yes I noticed that!! Isn’t it fab!! So refreshing x

Loved it! My mom is 64 and she has the most beautiful skin, without cellulite or stretch marks. I'm 37 and I have everything and more :(

Do try a silicone stick or sheet mask btw, they are proven to work X

Wow, this video is so informative! And, your chemistry is so in-sync. Maybe one day I'll make a video about this, as well.
Hi Nadine, after two pregnancies my stomach looks similar to Grace’s but worse! Can’t remember what it used to look like now, I’ve just learned to live with them. Great video.

Dermaroller helps a lot, you just have to keep doing, 1 session not gonna do anything, I would say 20 sessions at least :)
Hi Nadine. I gained too much weight with my first pregnancy and I got stretch marks. I recently had them layered and they are about 75% better. I will be posting a video about it soon. 💝💝💝
FiftyPlusBeauty I will be watching
FiftyPlusBeauty what laser did you have? I’m definitely filming my treatment with before and after x
I would be delighted with 75% reduction! What laser was it, how much was it and where on the body did you have it done? Thank you

My stretch marks own me, I wish I could feel proud of my pregnancy scars, but they have ruled so much of my life/wardrobe for 20yrs.
ItsOnlyWarPaint I feel your pain x
I'm the same....
Nice video!
And it’s very nice to see a Gjøl-trold (Troll) in the background. 👍🏻
What a refreshing video, brilliant x
Short women get stretch marks too.
I'm 5'2" if I stretch tall, and I have them on my inner thighs ... puberty again.
I never worried about them, and none of the men who've seen them cared much, either.
Brilliant Nadine! I think your stretch marks look beautiful - you wouldn't even notice them on that body! I know it's all relative but I would be very very happy to have those instead of cellulite and saggy skin at 55 ;) xx
You are still the only person I know the same age as me who looks younger XXX
Love the topics you come up !
Please keep doing them, lots of love
I couldn't believe it when u said u are 5ft 11, as I always imagined you to be about 5ft 4 or so, don't know why. Wow so stunning looking and tall too. Gorgeous
I loved your video ! My 8 yr old 3rd son once asked me what were those lines on my tummy (we were enjoying a friends pool) I responded "love marks" ! I chose to own them !! Thanks again !
Grace Timothy will love this X
Thanks JC I haven’t quite cut it out entirely, I need to do it! Thanks for the advice! X
Did you use any cremas/oils? Xxx's
Martha K yes yes yes xxx that’s me too 😍
Hi Nadine - great video, thankyou. This is why I love TH-cam 😘💕
Kimmy V Pixie I’m going to try laser so let’s see if that works x I’m your human guinea pig ❤️
Oooh good luck! Think laser is out of my price range, but would be nice to know if something finally works!xx
It's most honestly and beautiful video I see. Thanks for the time you spent both. 💜💜💜✌️
I'll be buying this book for my two best friends! One with a three year old and one pregnant for the first time. 😊
I developed breasts early and they grew quickly, but I was lucky to not develop stretch marks during that time. In high school, I had to have a lump removed and had a reduction at the same time. The swelling from the reduction surgery gave me stretch marks. How obnoxious is that!?
love the troll behind you. that takes me back a few years
Grace brought it to my house as a gift and I had to put it up - I grew up loving my troll (it was huge much larger than this one) ... happy it made you smile X
Nadine, will you review Tati's new magic pills?? I'm interested in your opinion!
You are bloody amazing
Wow you're 21 years older then grace!!! Honestly grace is beautiful but wow you have aged amazingly. You would never guess the 21 year age gap.
Grace will look just as good as me when she is 55 too X
I used almond oil, I got some stretch marks that I didnt know existed until my son got to two years old. And all are them are covered by the bikini. I am so lucky. I wonder if the 2nd time will be as charming.
HI Nadine need some desperate help.for my legs can't wear anything short because of dark marks and scars, please help...
I am 5'4 and got mine at puberty too!
P.S. I didn't realize they're something unwanted till I went to college, and a lot of girls there had them too
So interesting video!
Now you have got to do cellulite video!! Please please please
Anything for those type of marks?
lorna gall I think lasers could work for you x I’m going to try and also ask for you ❤️
Thank you so much - I have pretty much got used to looking crinkled but it would be fab if the texture could be improved even a little.
Ps - your videos are brilliant. So glad I found your channel. I am very much looking forward to your review on ZO skincare.
I don’t think any creams help, it’s all down to genetics.
Jemma Morris I had the exact problem as you. I eliminated all dairy from my diet, and I never had them again.
Hi Jemma
Definitely worth cutting back on diary and sugar ...
X
Nadine Baggott thanks very much for the advice as usual! 😍 love your honest approach so refreshing! Keep doing what you are doing! Xx
J C thanks I need to do it! I’ve cut back but I like it a lot!! Xx 😬
Would that silicon stick that your talking about help the scars on my face from skin cancer, I have one under my eye and one on my jawline.
Yes absolutely - also look at a silcone sheet mask from a pharmacy, cut to size and keep them on as long as possible.
XXXX
Thank you for your honesty, it really helps empowering women of all sizes. By the way, you have a great body :)
OMG I can relate to this topic so much. I am 5'11 myself. I got the first stretch marks when I was 13 years old in the backside of my knees from growing too fast. I am 42 now and at peace with them. Curious if this laser treatment works though 💁♀️
Loved this ❤️
What do you think of Lumity Supplements and Lumity Oil?
I have been taking Lumity for a month now and I think it helps me sleep better and have more energy however so far I have noticed no difference in my skin. I never use face oils, in fact am generally not a fan of them, so haven't used that.
X
Hey nadine, did you try the ultherapy laser for your Jowl area? If so did it help? Xx
I did and it made things worse ... argh - some people are just non responders and sadly I am one of them XXX
Seeing your stretch marks didnt make me feel any better about mine Nadine as your skin and body looks beautiful regardless x
This makes me sad - nearly every one of my friend s have stretchmarks X and Beyonce
You are awesome!!! I want you for my best friend! Thank you so much!!!!!
The film Shirley valentine helped me when her lover kissed her belly birth stretchmarks.
Hi! Always here, waiting for you! 😙
After my twins, I only get some on my belly😁 I used the Bio oil almost all the time
The strech marks I have them since I was 8 years old!
I understand the concept of embracing them when there is nothing to do about them , but ... a magic wand??? mmmmmmm....
My poor attempt at a joke re pores, never mind!
ehehhe, no worries, i got it ;) !!!
No and thank you for letting me know X
