I instinctively paired these two cause they were the youngest in the group and I was not disappointed. I was pretty oblivious to the fandom’s weird hatred toward Cyril during my first playthrough so I was so happy/proud to see him and Lysithea going from baby to a handsome/beautiful man/woman. It’s nice to see them treat each other differently (like both are usually blunt and prickly). The more I thought about it, Lysithea focuses on the future or her lack of one and Cyril focuses so much on his past to the point his memories in Almyra are painful to think about. While their ending was upsetting I feel them focusing on the present from now on while they had their time together was a good conclusion to them mentally. Cyril has a more healthy devotion to Lysithea and Lysithea spends the rest of her days happy with him.

Lysithea-Cyril-Hanneman Merged Ending Concept: After the war, Lysithea and Hanneman journeyed to Ordelia territory to begin research into a way to restore her shortened lifespan. Unable to serve Rhea any longer and distraught at Lysithea’s impending fate, Cyril offered his services to aid the endeavors of the two scholars. With neither scholar able to dissuade him, Cyril aided in the war relief efforts in the Ordelia territory and served as the duo’s wyvern-riding courier/man-at-arms where their research was concerned. Eventually the trio’s efforts bore fruit, and Lysithea’s lifespan was restored. The trio then returned to Garreg Mach. There Hanneman and Lysithea began their next stage of Crest research and teaching in earnest after announcing House Ordelia’s dissolution. Cyril enrolled in the Officers Academy. Shortly after his graduation from the Academy and induction into the Knights of Serios, Cyril proposed to Lysithea, to which she “bappily” accepted. Hanneman served as Best Man at the couple’s wedding and was later the partial namesake to Lysithea and Cyril’s first child.
This ending makes me really sad I feel like I owe it to Lysithea to pair her with Linhardt to remove her crests so that ending is one I'll probably never achieve myself
@Nathaniel Hamilton It was all Claude's idea. After the mock battle of the Eagle and Lion he wanted to... What'd he say? "Tear down the walls between our respective houses". So we feasted until half of the academy passed out, and when they all woke up Linhardt had a moment of post-nap clarity. "Hey guys... I know a great way to get acquainted with each other and the rest of the world. And its so efficient we don't even need to leave the comfort of our dorms" He revealed an invention he was working on, I think he called it a "phone" A few hours later and now we're here.
I paired them up in my first play through. The second I paired up Lysithea with the old Crest professor and in the epilogue, she got her crests removed and lived a full life.
Wow, Lysithea's reaction is so muted in the English dub... She practically babbles in incoherent joy during the 7:49 bit in the Japanese dub which was so adorable I played that line back in log for at least a full minute.
All his faults as a character aside (IMO) , Cyril and Lysithea have one of the best support chains in the game, and that is saying something for a game that most supports range from at the very least enjoyable to really good.
As a character i feel he isnt as bad as everyone says he is. he really only never shuts up aboit rhea outside of support convos but within them shes not a huge factor shamir- Archery training Mercedes- baby brother Claude-Claude gains a commoner almyran point of view and learns to watcg iut for everyone Seteth- Seteth tells Cyril to live for himself and find what he wants in life not to just blindly follow someone. even then i feel like his gratitude to rhea is justified considering she took in an orphan kid from a place Fodlan thinks is full of barbarians. Rhea is essentially his adopted mother and hes extremely grateful hes not living on the street trying to find his next meal.
Wow...I don't know what to say but......this pairing is so adorable. I'm practically bappy already. This pairing is on par with BylethxLysithea....she is just too freaking adorable.

To be fair everyone learns at different rates plus Cyril speaks perfect english but can't read and Petra reads perfectly fine but can't speak as well and also she had to start from scratch when learning the language
I actually like this ending for Lysithia finding as cure or having her Crest removed seems like a copout and underminds the tragedy of her character. The best ending for her is to go off sweetly into the night.

At least on my run I had all recruitable characters plus Lysithea is one of my precious children. I refuse to believe my MC didn't kick Lysithea and Cyril's door at midnight with a cure he found with Hanneman and Linhardt years later.
i love this pairing but it's one of the endings where she presumably dies without her crest cancer being cured and also i ship edelgard and lysithea and i can't have edelgard x lysithea and lysithea teaching cyril how to read at the same time. my life is so hard smh

So, according to your logic, if someone fell in love with a terminally ill person, he is supposed to give up his life dream and dedicate his whole life to find some magical cure for the illness? And if he didn't, then he is "underdeveloped"? like wtf that doesn't make any sense lol. Cyril's not a crest scholar or anything and for all that he knew Lysithea's condition really was incurable. The only characters that can actually cure her conditions are Hanneman and Lindhardt and both of them were interested in crests before even meeting her. Cyril deciding to stay by her side despite her short lifespan is actually very showing of his growth as a character.

@@xXRedZeroXx First of all, you are making a very bold assumption there. Cyril is character who shows growth on multiple occasions with his different supports, but the fandom always treats him as though he's just a puppy following Rhea without taking into account his other supports. An example of this is his support with Ashe. In their C support, Cyril was being a brat when Ashe helped him. Then in their B support he recognizes his own mistake, apologizes to Ashe about his rude response and thanks him for helping him. In their A support Cyril even ignores the order that was given to him and rushes to help Ashe. His support with Seteth sheds more light on his character arc and where it is headed. Cyril had one of the most rough childhoods in this entire game. Unlike the majority of Three houses cast Cyril is not only a commoner but he was also a war orphan who was taken away from his home and forced into servitude. Rhea gave him a purpose to live. He wants to prove himself worthy of her kindness. But as the story progresses, Seteth teaches him that there are people who appreciate him other than her and that he needs to have more than one purpose life. Claiming that Cyril doesn't 'develop' as a character is just mistaken. You probably haven't been paying attention to his character. Second of all, why should Cyril have to ask Byleth to find a cure? Byleth is Lysithea's teacher if he knew a cure for Lysithea's condition then he would've done something instead of just leaving his student to die. The only thing not human about Byleth is his weird coloring, his heart and Devine Pulse. Hell, he can't even turn into a dragon. Why would you even assume that he can magically cure her? Hell, somehow only Male Byleth finds a cure for her and even then only if you S-support her. The game itself doesn't treat Byleth as "basically god" just some dude who has powers when it's convenient to the plot or gameplay. Claude is the heir of two thrones and he has political connections in two different continents and that's without even mentioning that he's one of the most intelligent characters in the game. Of course he can find a cure. Cyril on the other hand is a war orphan turned servant turned knight. People are so fucking harsh on Cyril it's not even funny.
danah hassan Firstly, I never said Cyril didn't get character development in other supports. I explicitly mentioned this support with Lysithea he...no, THEY didn't get any development. Cyril even didn't talk about his past and Lysithea neither did. It felt weak compared to other supports. Secondly, Byleth IS a god. If You paid attention, you will remember Sothis and they fused and became one. This means Sothis, who is considered a goddess, gave her powers to them. They isn't Sothis, but has her powers which directly makes them a god. And by this it means their influence is even bigger. Not that they will magically cure her. And you are right about Claude, but hell, if Cyril wanted, he could have asked Claude for help. It's not like they directly need to find the cure. They could ask scholars to do research to help her. Even Hanneman himself could had helped. They were allies and Friends in the War following the Canon, which means they shouldn't have any problem with helping Cyril, but he didn't do anything of that.
@@xXRedZeroXx It would be really fucking stupid if the characters just blurt out their tragic backstory in every fucking support conversation. Like what kind of person just outright tell a girl he just met his sob story? Also, support conversations don't necessarily need to contain a grand revelation or a life-altering decision to be "strong". Support conversations are a great way of storytelling because they show how different characters act in different situations and how they treat different characters. For instance, Lysithea and Cyril's support shows a different aspect of their personalities by placing them in different situations. Lysithea is shown as a more supportive, kind figure instead of her usual bratty competitive attitude. This is not necessarily out of character for her, she treats Cyril this way because for her he is not someone who underestimate her and he is younger than her so he can't treat her as a child. Good characters have facets and "strong" supports show those different facets. This supports accomplishes that and it also accomplishes it in a sweet heartwarming way. Calling it weak because it's not the usual sob story support is just weird. Hanneman, Linhardt, Byleth and Claude don't really owe Cyril anything, so even if he asked them for help they wouldn't be as invested in finding the cure. Don't get me wrong, all of them would definitely help Cyril if he asked but for them Lysithea is just an old companion/friend that fought together with them and it is explicitly stated that all of these characters (except for Byleth) would have to abandon their responsibilities and dedicate years of their life to find a cure and while they might've been willing to do that for Lysithea if she was their lover, they wouldn't abandon everything just to help Cyril. They only did it for Lysithea when she was special to them. Cyril certainly has the drive and motivation to help her, he just doesn't have the resources.
Out of character? Lysithea finally had someone who was younger then her so she felt like she finally had the chance to be the older sister helping a younger brother but Cyril knows Lysithea is incapable of helping him lift logs so he acts like it's no big deal Both don't want to be treated like a child so when both of them are similar in age they feel more like equals Cyril and lysith doesn't like getting help from others when they could do it themselves because that would hurt their pride, but in the one time Cyril genuinely needed help he felt like he could trust lysithea since they're similar in age I don't think thats out of character but just how those two would react in those situations
@@strawberrycake3474 She's treating him like an infant. I understand doing that when she's younger, because she makes mistakes like that sometimes, but I would have expected her to grow out of it or get called out on it by the timeskip.

It would be really fucking stupid if the characters just blurt out their tragic backstory in every fucking support conversation.
M.Byleth x Lysithea😍
Sorry ( not) Cyril. Lysithea is always my S support. So go be "bappy" somewhere else.
Wow...these are...surprisingly bad. Both characters are insanely OOC and there's so many missed opportunities for character development.
lol ok
We need more of Cyril's in character moments of talking about Lady Rhea 20 times in every conversation.
Out of character?
Lysithea finally had someone who was younger then her so she felt like she finally had the chance to be the older sister helping a younger brother but Cyril knows Lysithea is incapable of helping him lift logs so he acts like it's no big deal
Both don't want to be treated like a child so when both of them are similar in age they feel more like equals
Cyril and lysith doesn't like getting help from others when they could do it themselves because that would hurt their pride, but in the one time Cyril genuinely needed help he felt like he could trust lysithea since they're similar in age
I don't think thats out of character but just how those two would react in those situations
@@strawberrycake3474 She's treating him like an infant. I understand doing that when she's younger, because she makes mistakes like that sometimes, but I would have expected her to grow out of it or get called out on it by the timeskip.
