James Gray again i say this to the people who don't understand football...... His o-line is good...... He held on to the ball to long. The offensive line is not just going to stand there they have to move and react to the defense. Its suppost to be 2-3 seconds in the back field before a QB releases the ball.
I love how everyone talks about there being one second, yet the clock runs out while the refs are still whistling. meaning the ball hitting the ground, the refs whistling, and the clock keeper reacting, it all happens in that one second, and it expires. Texas loses fair and square in any scenario of this game outside of the state of Texas. If you believe otherwise, and that human reaction time should be taken into account in clock management and removed, this game has easily a minimum of one minute left in it after that play.
The line is doing their job the QB for 1. takes to long to throw most of those plays are 3 step drop then throw. 2. They didn't add time back - the head ref correctly (AND WAS *PROVEN* RIGHT BY THE REPLAY) kept 1 second on the clock. The TV overlay is not official. Neither is the stadium clock. If you seriously thing that a stadium worker not having a quick finger ought to mean that a team which OBJECTIVELY ended a play with 1 second left should have that last second taken away, you should stop commenting about football.
I'll say this now just to get this off, but Nebraska's defense ruined Colt McCoy's life this game. Made it hell. Granted, there was a one second debacle, but if Nebraska had any offensive production that game, we'd all be talking about a much different story. Nebraska's defense carried them that far, but they couldn't pull off the win. That's why it's a team sport. Not a Suh sport.
My name is Matt O'Hanlon, when I played midget football, my number was 33, and I played safety just like Matt O'Hanlon #33, the safety, I learned who he was after my midget days were over, that's crazy to me!
why would they even try to do another play with the clock running and only 10 seconds left, they were in good field goal range, they just screwed theirselves over
I was born and raised a Nebraska fan, there was clearly one second left there is no doubt about. But there is a rule that once the game has end you can not use the review to put time back on the clock. The fact that the rule was broken for texas and cost the Huskers the Big 12 championship is why most fans have a problem with this. The Big 12 did this so they would have a team in the national championship game.
Rules state that reviews cannot happen after the ref has called the game over. The reff didnt blow the whistle with 2 seconds left. You are more than stretching for that one. Once the game is called there cant be challenges, except when you play in Texas.
backwoodsbully Exactly as a Nebraska it really saddens me because we dont get to play our old rivals anymore. What also pisses me off is that 3 of the teams that left were part of the origin big 8, And then texas comes in late 90s and gets all the profit. The move to pac 10 also killed Colorado football.
Forgot how bad McCoy got hit in that game. I'm convinced he took that first hit by Marcel Dareus in the NC and said, "Not this sh@t again, I'm going to get ready for the NFL."
We will put it this way. If that second gets put back on the clock than every second from every play gets put back up and we have 3 minutes left. The clock itself is not reviewable by challenge or by referee. It wasn't a malfunction either, it was exactly what happens every play of the game. The clock can't be stopped until a ref puts his hands in the air and once that happens the switch is flipped and a second nearly always comes off.
actually the official story was that it hit a "fence post" behind the team on the sideline. And normal human reaction time error is only held accountable when its the last second of a UT-Austin National Championship opportunity. I mean why not go back through the whole game and add all the extra seconds that run off due to human error and give Nebraska a couple more plays, I mean perfect clock management matters...right? You'd just have to deal with it.
I'm so happy we got to see the same reaction over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again!
Was it really necessary to show the same fans again and again?

Nebraska's defense carried them that far, but they couldn't pull off the win. That's why it's a team sport. Not a Suh sport.
My name is Matt O'Hanlon, when I played midget football, my number was 33, and I played safety just like Matt O'Hanlon #33, the safety, I learned who he was after my midget days were over, that's crazy to me!
Did the starting o-line go on vacation or something? This is mostly the o lines fault
For someone who has just started watching college football in England, what happened? Was this guy good and then messed up or something?
13-12, 1 second left on the clock how you feel???
why would they even try to do another play with the clock running and only 10 seconds left, they were in good field goal range, they just screwed theirselves over
did texas get some bs roughing the passer call at the end of the 4th to get another chance or what? i didn't see this game
McCoy can thank his defense for this one point win……because he was awful!
How can someone lose the heisman trophy the week before it is awarded? Votes were already counted by then.
so Colt McCoy was going to win the Heisman but then he didn't because of this game? I'm just asking, I have no idea whats going on.
Yep, Suh totally shut down his chances. Suh should have got the heisman, but nobody has the balls to give the heisman to a tackle.
And Alabama ended up injuring McCoy and winning the championship. Roll tide. Thank you Nick Saban
I dont know if you remember this but they put a tick back on the clock
Rules state that reviews cannot happen after the ref has called the game over. The reff didnt blow the whistle with 2 seconds left. You are more than stretching for that one. Once the game is called there cant be challenges, except when you play in Texas.
they used to have a big 12 chamoionship? why they get rid of it
Not enough teams I think
Because Texas sabotaged the big 12 that's why they're having so many problems now.
+Cotil3Boy47 Big time sabotage! they were getting twice the money from the TV sponsors while every other team got half.
backwoodsbully Exactly as a Nebraska it really saddens me because we dont get to play our old rivals anymore. What also pisses me off is that 3 of the teams that left were part of the origin big 8, And then texas comes in late 90s and gets all the profit. The move to pac 10 also killed Colorado football.
+Randycandy yeah cause the PAC 12 competition is way better than the BIG 12 competition
Should've won the heisman. Mark ingram was good, but he singly dominated the game in more ways than one. ingram ran behind a stacked o-line at bama
That was ndamakung Suh and Prince Amukamara on defense
King South no, it wasn't it was suh and Gomes
Najee Harris Uh, no It was Amukamara the cornerback and Suh the defensive tackle...
actually the official story was that it hit a "fence post" behind the team on the sideline.
How many times did the Blackshirts sack or tackle for loss aganist those guys?
