I’m 27 I was playing apex last night these 2 guys join my squad they’re master and predator rank and and they just taking the piss out of my voice out of my age calling me an old man 😂 saying I’m trash, so I left them all game and met up at the end of the game guess what!? They had 600 damage and they supposed to be on the ball calling me an old man at the prime of my life 🤣

Incoming "old man" rant!
Firstly, let me just say that I do NOT condone this kind of language usage or treatment of people either online or in person.
I'm just about 39 years old, so if you're curious as to why many people in my age bracket sometimes act this way, I might be able to shed some light on the topic. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, when online interactions between people became more common as the internet grew and people started having access within their homes, online forums/chat rooms/online games were a cesspool of ignorant, bigoted people who were used to their small everyday lives where they maybe had a handful of friends, and the people they met online weren't "real" people that mattered. They were just pixels on a screen. Now, this by no means excuses these kinds of people's actions online. It was stupid back then and it's stupid now. But this is where you see the trend of toxicity online start to form. These types of people would use their time online to troll, insult, and belittle people to get a reaction, which they thought was funny. Because, to them, when they switched their pc off at night those "people" online were gone and life resumed as normal. There was a very real disconnect between "real life" and "internet life" back then.
Personally, I never really felt that way. Which is why I never got into online interactions with people until much more recently. Even still though, I always mute other players in online games, because in the back of my mind I just assume they're going to be jerks.
There's always going to be jerks in every generation, but I think since a lot of the younger generations have grown up with technology and the internet being accessible, it's made you much more conscious of other people and their feelings. Which is a GOOD thing. But I think this is where a lot of this conflict online happens. Many people from my generation have habitualized this kind of behavior online, and unfortunately a lot of them haven't changed with the times. Again, not making excuses for these two, just trying to bring light as to why some of us "old timers" act as stupid as they do online. They literally haven't grown up.
Lord people get more toxic every second we humans exist. It's crazy how our world is coming to people being toxic and also people becoming brain dead of tiktok challenges. I hope the world gets better.

A similar situation like this happened to me once. I just stayed mute the whole game but it was so hard to focus when your teammates are absolutely trash and talking shit. I coulda been like ratchet but instead I carried, had 14 kills with almost 4k damage. They shut up real quick and once I unmuted, said GG, and left they tried spam inviting me.
My opinion on it all is… yes it’s nice to be focused/sweaty in a game but it’s also nice to just have fun and connect with other apex players.
I straight up mute the teammates right at the start of every game to avoid it.

I'd like to say that as a member of the 30s gaming club, we do not all speak as disrespectfully when gaming. I mean, we get mad sure but to use any kind of slur to spread hate on someone just trying to live their best life isn't ok. Although tbf, I had a 10 year old in my squad once who spoke the same as those guys so yeah. I don't think it has so much to do with "how good at the game they are" as much as the type of language they were using.. His team mates in the first half of the video were brothers 1 admitted to being 36 years old (I assume as brothers they are close in age.). at that age you should just know better. slurs aren't okay.
