IMO, Lane is the best hire for Ole Miss. He knows all about the X’s , O’s and how to create match up nightmares for the opposing teams. Curious to see who he brings in on D fence.
He will likely be keeping the DC. Not sure about anyone else

Hey man, folks love to hate the Lane Train because of crap that happened ten years ago at Tennessee. Look what Coach O did at Ole Miss vs what he's doing today at LSU. Ten years make all the difference, and I think Kiffin deserves his fair chance.
No doubt, you got it right. It will be interesting to see who Lane hires as his Assistants. I don't see any reason why his Dad could not continue to work for Lane, or his Brother however, his Brother currently has a job with the 49ers. Either way he has been put in charge of some serious funds and this has now over shadowed the up and coming National Championship even.

Ole Miss, what are you thinking? The guy doesn’t stay put anywhere. He chases fame and money. He will decimate your program for years to come. I wouldn’t let him coach pee wee. He isn’t a horrible Xs and Os guy, he just a Judas. Better hope USC doesn’t call. You can hope he will elevate your program, you’d be better off hoping he doesn’t leave you worse off than when he arrived. Face it, his record isn’t stellar. He lies, and doesn’t care who he lies to. But in all seriousness, this guy has matured a great deal over the last decade....you can see/hear it. The trash talking Kiffin that was hired by the Vols has changed . I think his time with Coach Saban made a huge difference in his abilities to organize and run a large program, he's (Kiffin) even said it himself. I'm a long time Bama fan and I think Lane Kiffin will slowly and quietly build something at Ole Miss. Now, will he beat Bama? Yeah, I wouldn't go that far, at least not for a few years, but hey, on any given day..... Kiffin can also recruit, it's one of Coach Saban's requirements for his assistants. Recruiting is the life blood of college football so if you can't recruit, you're not going to do very well. I think the SEC West just got a "bit" more interesting....if that's even possible.
TideFan Yankee It will be an interesting ride to watch. Things have been shaken up in the SEC. Maybe he will stay and do something special there
@@rkotitan10 Consistency will be and always has been key. Everyone, especially the Bama-haters love to drone on when the Tide doesn't win it all. But if you look at the W's vs. the L's Coach Saban has a record that pretty much any college coach would envy. Kiffin has learned from some great coaches and like everything else, these things go in cycles. Do you think LSU will replicate what they did this season, next season? I highly doubt it. Look at A&M the year after Manzel left. Look at Auburn a couple of years after they won the NC....they were showing Chizik the door. Losing a QB good enough to win the Heisman is going to hurt, and LSU will lose more than their QB to the draft. If Kiffin can be consistent he could have his breakout season at some point....but then, that will likely come to an end just like everyone else's.

Well that won't change. Biggest thing Ole Miss can do to ruin this is to start thinking they're going to come out of the gate leading Alabama and LSU and Auburn because I guarantee you that's not going to happen. I mean you can dream if you want to but if you expect to come out knocking Alabama off the podium, well good luck to you. We don't have but about 150 more years experience winning than Ole Miss. Still I think Lane kiffin is a great hire for your program

The SEC West is the toughest place in the country to win. Kiffin will have to beat Alabama, Auburn and LSU for starters. I think that's a mountain to high for him and Ole Miss to climb.
These things go in cycles. I remember not long after Auburn won the national championship they were almost win-less in conference play and Gene Chizik was shown the door. Yes, Ole Miss will have to face those teams, but LSU isn't going to have a Heisman winner under center next year. Bama returns many, but they lose many great players too. Auburn will be good next year, but that's not going to last indefinitely...it never does. With Kiffin at the helm at Ole Miss, the SEC West just got a bit more interesting.
Lane is gonna send nick Saban into retirement, in 5 years they might have to fight Alabama off for Lane when they back up the brinks truck for him to come back to Bama.
If I wanted to play with nonwhites, I'd go to Mississippi State.

Maybe so. I'm a 30 year Ole Miss fan and graduate. If he repeats a Tuberville type move, I'm not going to stew on it. Ole Miss is a stepping stone or graveyard, and the sooner you realize this the better.
