    Bought a barbed line at dollar store and fixed it with exact $1 within 10 minute. Amazing! But I feel I owe you two hundred bucks.

    I started checking out these how to fix leaky HVAC. Mine is leaking water when the system is off. No leak when the system is on.
    Any idea what could be the issue when water is leaking into the PAN when the system is off? Too much condensation water built into the system?
    A plumber cleared the primary drain line, pure water into the line and collected it by the bathroom sink. P-Trap was replaced.
    Maybe a cracked in the primary pan inside the unit?
    Thanks for your feedback.

    • @ACPro
      @ACPro  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Possible cracked pan. Or the drain line is closed and where it terminates outside is covered up. The air cand suck the condensate back in the unit and when it turns off the pressure is released and water is allowed to flow. Also somethings that is missed is the actual hole in the pan where male adaptor goes. Make sure it is clear

    Mine drains water out the bottom of the air handler after it shuts down for about 10 seconds. I wonder if that means I have a clog in the primary drain pan. I didn't know all I had to do was pull the filter out and you could see the primary pan.

    • @ACPro
      @ACPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Means the primary pan is cloged or you don't have a p trap on system

    • @grasscutter88
      @grasscutter88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ACPro It has a p trap. I can see water draining when I remove the cap off the stand pipe, but maybe it's clogged slightly upstream of that and not flowing enough? Kind of like a bathtub drain?

    How often does the AC drain get clogged up? My AC unit is going nuts. I've had to call a technician out at least 3-times. I hear like water dripping from my bathroom vent. They've come out and supposedly fixed the issue and it runs for about a week. I don't runt my air that much. What could be the issue?

    • @ACPro
      @ACPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      your drain doesnt have good fall. your unit is old with metal drain pan , you don't have p trap, you have1/2 line, your pan is not clean and they are just clearing the line, you have extreme algae in pan . need to open it up and inspect like i show in video . these things i mentioned are just a few things i see that are common

    My unit leakes from under the evaporator core. I had an H VAC man come. He cleaned out the drain lines You can see the water fllowing down the trap. But it puts about 1/2 inch of water in a pan I put under where it leakes in 24 hours. H VAC man said he does not know why it is leaking in that spot. Unit was installed in 2004. Any ideas?

    • @8307c4
      @8307c4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The drain line itself may have a high spot that's causing it to build up, you'll likely need to clean it out again yourself and study to see... Often a one time cleaning doesn't get all the dirt out, maybe pour a cup of bleach down it too... To clean it out again the best thing to use is a wet-dry shop vac.

    Sorry, I disagree Sir. Clorox fumes will ROT out your evaporator coil over time. My best friend is a commercial AC/refrigeration tech. I own and maintain several rental properties in southeast Ga...it gets hot here. He advised me several years ago to change out the AC filters every month and take a wet/dry shop vac and suck out the drain line from the outside 2 times a year. I've never had any drainage problems out of 18 years in the rental business. No disrespect intended Toby, thanks for the video.
