Principle 1: No matter which color you play you always have the first move and it is e5! Principle 2: Always attack everything, preferably with your queen. Principle 3: Always hit clock hard with your hand to scare your opponent a little bit. If you are down on time there is slight chance you will damage the clock and time will have to be restarted. Principle 4: If you lose anyway, start to attack your opponent verbally. You still can finish at least your opponent even if the game is already over.

This video is very instructional and your attack, patiently waiting and describing your thinking before attacking is a beautiful thing to see. I think this is the first video I watched of yours several months back. I decided to watch again. Back then, my chess play was more defensive hoping I'd survive the middle game with an advantage so I can win an endgame. Fast forward to now and I really like adding tactical play to my game. I won one game yesterday where I sacrificed my knight, to break up my opponent's pawns that were protecting his king. Then I followed up with my queen and both bishops to lead to a checkmate. You've taught me that executing a good attack is a beautiful thing! 🙂

it sounds cliche but it really is just pattern recognition haha play slow time controls to start and you literally have to stop between every move and see how a move impacted the other pieces on the board. Which pieces can now see squares that they couldn't, which pieces are now under attack or defended by new pieces. Which pieces are on the same color squares (pins, forks, skewers) and which pieces can now give checks or block them It's a slow process, nobody said chess was easy haha. But keep at it and you'll get better!
Knights move from dark squares to light squares and back to dark squares with every move. So, keep that in mind when you have valuable pieces on the same colored squares with a knight nearby. Hope that helps!
I was also trying to work out (in my head) how the light-square bishop sac was going to work, but I didn't get to the part about the queen sac as well. Very nice, Anna! And yes, in hindsight, just leaving your rook in the corner would have worked as well. Nice touch leaving your own king one move away from mate. That's Adolf Anderssen chess right there.
An outstanding video once again! I am completely hooked on you and your methods. I was looking for a course offered by you but then I realize that Every Video is a lesson. I track your moves in Chess Pro and create a PGN to review. It’s your thought process I’m trying to keep in mind, not trying to memorize the moves, when I play. How you could sacrifice the Bishop to expose the King and then let the Knight take your Rook, I don’t think that was intentional but it didn’t take your mind off of your plan. Quite Amazing and Very Fun to watch. As great as these videos are, Please do come out with a lesson plan.
As I replay this PGN, I see where you moved your Rook from a1 to e1 which you considered a mistake because Nxe1 but not critical to your plan when you took rxf7 but it was next when black moved Qd8 to Qd5 looks like the black blunder that allows you to create the Royal Fork with Kf6 whereas if after you take rxf7 white rxf7 it eliminates your key rook and completely changes the outcome.

Her rule is don't sacrifice unless you must. She had to. It was so spicy. I am too aggressive of a player. I fall into that same trap. She was lucky that it worked out. I'm a much worse player, but aggressive style chess is fun. I hardly have time for anything but bullet lately, so I suppose bullet lends itself to aggressive chess too.
That was a good video Anna. I did not know those principles and I have not been so successful with my attacks. I have wondered how other players could have sharp attacks on me, but I have often failed with my attacks or not tried. I have been better on defence, taking poisoned pawns and do counter attacks.

I just started playing chess about 1 month ago, at 46 years old. What and amazingly beautiful game. I’m addicted. While I am getting better at defense, I struggle extensively in having any sort of attack plan. Thank yiu for this video.

You timed the sac perfectly!! Intuition is more than a feeling, the mind is capable of determining the best course of action, even on a subconscious level. There have been a number of studies and experiments that have shown this to be true! In the video you just did playing Nils, he said there are times he goes on the attack simply believing the checkmate must be there, even though he doesn't actually see it! Bottom line, awesome mate!!
I saw this in a program called "Through the wormhole with Morgan Freeman". It was produced by the Science channel. In the program they showed how during a military conflict, the officer was able to identify whether a fighter jet was friendly, or an enemy fighter. He was viewing radar, and although there was conflicting evidence, he was able to make the correct assessment. I believe it was as a result of the repetition of his training, which I think is what happens in chess as well. Players at your level have seen so many games and positions, and a lot of that info is retained by our brains, and that might be the basis of the ability to "intuit". Does this make sense?
Ratings in online chess are crazy. It’s like they either have memorised the best line and have the response, or they will see the cheese but not the trap. The higher you go, the more book moves, but still… knight takes rook too hard to resist 😂 Well played, your joy is contagious 😄
I love playing your Cow Opening in blitz chess and just watching my opponents clock ticking away ... it's almost unbeatable in blitz once this happens. Your first 10 moves are always so quick, no thinking, but your opponent must think. I was losing rating playing 10 minutes and longer .. thinking I was just getting so old and my brain was deteriorating. But in blitz, the Cow is KIng!
Yes, I agree that 1.d4 can be a good option for the attacking player. In the Queen's Gambit I've had a fair amount of fun with various accepted and Slav lines where White goes for e4 and allows ...b5, and declined lines where White exchanges on d5 and castles long, and also with the Samisch King's Indian lines with an early f3 and queenside castling. I've also had a lot of fun with the Blackmar-Diemer with 2.e4 or 2.Nc3 and 3.e4, though I admit that it isn't as sound. Nice queen sac at the end!
IM FIRST! I was really excited when I seen the title of the video in my notification because if I could just win matches by consistently attacking from beginning to end I would forsure have more fun !

I need to get more practice in. I used to be able to see so many moves ahead when I was a kid. Now, I can barely see past the next two or three moves. It's amazing to see someone thinking so far ahead. It also annoys me when people are about to lose so they play down the time hoping you'll just leave. I've actually asked people to play or quit before (politely).
You know, I'm normally not about these strict chess rules. But it's okay to report annoying players for bad sportsmanship. In a tournament he would be disqualified.
I happened to use a very similar set of moves early on and had no idea how I did. I and ended up winning..the beauty of it was that it seemed like a bunch of moves were made without my input really and it ended up being the right ones, to the point when I finally saw the Mate move (which wasn't obvious to me at all at the time), I hesitated because I thought it can't be true! I assumed that the opponent must have seen the moves coming from mile away! It was hilarious and my friends, who were much better than me, got really pi**ed off and started yelling at me, and I cracked up laughing...! It took a while to win again....;-)
What a great game, i get so much more stressed by your clock than you do . . . . given your thinking time, i thought the obvious mistake was the bishop capture - I haven’t thought it through, but was playing the clock an option there? (Leaving the bishop)?
What I didn't like was after your principle is to develop pieces, you bring the bishop out and then run him back home, then change your mind and attack with the bishop. 3 moves on the bishop. I think the reason you opponent was delaying at the end was because you were one move from being checkmated.
I don't understand why with this level of analysis Anna plays what's basically blitz: 10+0. Why not play 15+10 or even 30+0 to avoid the time scramble? If the opponent thinks too long then just edit.

You get forked, and learn to recognize it. I got forked alot, but after 10 or so times I started to recognise the pattern

I primarily play Queen's Gambit as white, and have trouble generating successful attacks. This was GREAT. Thanks much!

She just got lucky, it was a terrible sacrifice. She would lose that game 9 times out of 10, her opponent just blundered badly.

She said she sacrificed to early. On move 17 Black could have played Nd5 or g6 to defend and would have been a bishop up.

I happened to use a very similar set of moves early on and had no idea how I did. I and ended up winning..the beauty of it was that it seemed like a bunch of moves were made without my input really and it ended up being the right ones, to the point when I finally saw the Mate move (which wasn't obvious to me at all at the time), I hesitated because I thought it can't be true! I assumed that the opponent must have seen the moves coming from mile away! It was hilarious and my friends, who were much better than me, got really pi**ed off and started yelling at me, and I cracked up laughing...! It took a while to win again....;-)

What a great game, i get so much more stressed by your clock than you do . . . . given your thinking time, i thought the obvious mistake was the bishop capture - I haven’t thought it through, but was playing the clock an option there? (Leaving the bishop)?
What I didn't like was after your principle is to develop pieces, you bring the bishop out and then run him back home, then change your mind and attack with the bishop. 3 moves on the bishop. I think the reason you opponent was delaying at the end was because you were one move from being checkmated.

I don't understand why with this level of analysis Anna plays what's basically blitz: 10+0. Why not play 15+10 or even 30+0 to avoid the time scramble? If the opponent thinks too long then just edit.

Anna (you're probably not going to answer me, that's fine), despite you having played a beautiful game, wouldn't he have had a better chance of survival if he had taken your rook with his, instead of moving his queen to d5? i'm 1553 ELO so maybe i don't know what i'm talking about, but i'm curious...
