I have just started kudo training which is added into my mix of kyokushin. I can say for a fact it does include submissions and we do practice arm, leg and head locks to finish off a fighter once getting them to the ground.

Karate is nice, and I dont mean to be disrespectful. Im a shotokan brown belt, trained for around 6 years. 10 years ago I started jiu jitsu. I bet on a white belt 6 months jiu jitsu practitioner vs a decade or even black belts on shotokan (or any karate style tbh) any day.
Kudo Is a better option in my opinion cuz u got throwing grappling and even some ground fight, most importantly their striking techniques is really good
