      @@marmar2181 Vegemite is a thick paste made from yeast extract that people typically tend to spread on toast! If you've ever heard of Marmite, it's like that.

      My experiment suggestion would probably be if you could incorporate the technique of pottery/candle carving into soap. It's made by making the thing in multiple thin layers, so you could basically pour two or three very thin layers on top of a slab and then carve lines on the soap when it's still soft or something.
      Up to you though! I'm sure lots of people have interesting ideas.

      squishy booty i’ve noticed that a lot men are really into beer and craft beer. growing up it was mostly the men in my family drinking beer or alcohol at dinners or events. so maybe that’s why? there’s probably a more educated reason as to why but this is just my guess.

    When I was pregnant I lived in Fort Worth and taco johns had a prickly pear drink and the closest one was in Kansas.... so we made a weekend trip of it... lol

      I know the little pieces that are on the ends get put into sample packages and I'm pretty sure she's said that she gives some of the ones that aren't suitable to sell to her family

    With different scents, that would make a gorgeous mocha soap. You could even do creamer icing on top with coffee bean inbeds

      @@kickthespike black and tan has negative historical connotations. The drink was more than likely created and named by an American as most Irish people (I live in Ireland and can atest to this) have never heard of it and would also never call it a black and tan as ordering such a drink especially after people are a couple drinks in is just asking for a confrontation

    Next time maybe put a thin third white layer on top? Since beer ususally has the foamy top.

    I just made a soap today using a steep liquid discount with added coconut milk, Shea butter and kaolin clay. No fragrance, no color. And I’m glad. It got super thick super quick! But, it’ll still make great soap!

    Looks great! I haven’t been brave enough to try a beer soap yet but it’s been requested. I used a fragrance that accelerated as bad as your black layer yesterday but I loved how it smelled so it was worth it. (Ocean waves by NG- very floral and fresh)

    I love spreading the soap like that, so satisfying. You need to get yourself some icing combs for the top they work awesome and you can get lots of shapes.

      It’s actually cider and lager plus a little black currant liquor across the pond. US style uses Guinness instead of the lager

    This looks amazing! Did a great job for such thick soap, to make it more half and half this would look amazing with a creamy white top of the black so it really looks like Guinness!

    Can you do a vid where you do things "incorrectly" like not burping your stick blender, having too high a trace, a little too much water that results in rivers, etc. but incorporating the "bad results" into the finished products? I think that would be fun. Not the dangerous "incorrect things ofc

    I love how you show us your mistakes, and how you work with them, its nice to sometimes be reminded that youre still learning in places yourself!
    As for your Question of the Day: I think it depends on how badly I want the drink? If I haven't had it in a long time and it was as exclusive as your beer here was, sure, I'd drive! But, more often than not, my favorite drink of choice is pretty readily available wherever I go 😅

    The nearest bubble tea place to me is about 2 hours one way, so every so often I guess I'll drive about 4 hours for honey milk tea bubble tea.
    Also im living for the texture on top of this soap!!

      @@fes9698 I've used an English breakfast mixed with a bit of nutella or 75% cocoa bars if I want something a bit chocolate that it makes it really rich without it being overpowering. Plus if you live in some major cities your local tea shop (the actaul leaves) may already sell some tea with chocolate. This isnt a small shop by David's Tea in California sell a chocolate one and birthday cake.

    I love these videos and have learned TONS about soap making. Your soaps are beautiful! Every time I go on the website, all the ones I want are sold out. Anyways, what are the themes for later this summer/fall? What about fall foliage or autumn bouquet or something like that? There are so many awesome fall scents that aren't cliche (like pumpkin) and such rich colors. What about an indian corn design or black eyed susans or squash harvest?

    We made a beer soap a few months ago, so excited to see how the process performed for you! We used a homemade chocolate stout and holy junk was the lye process crazy! I boiled the stout and it still tried to become a lye volcano. Wish we’d filmed it because it came out so pretty! But we didn’t start filming the full process until the soap after that. Just have the cutting for our beer soap.
    Edit: If you ever go to Ireland, I would adore to see a video blog (or several!) of your trip!

      It's the non offensive name for a black and tan - and as an Irish expat in Canada, they're definitely more popular over here than back home

    Also, just an FYI for labeling purposes, Guinness is NOT vegan. They use an animal by-product to filter it.

    Not sure it really counts, but I make a 7 hour trip reasonably frequently so I can a, visit my family and b, get the best smoothie I have ever had. I've been going to the same place for over a decade
