Save it. Solid japan quality. It's not cheap to fix but it's quality

Definitely worth saving this one :) It's uniquely a North American release model with the full wrap around body molds, mesh alloy wheels and leather seats. Although this same combo could have been sold in Europe as well. Here in Australia we had a Series 1 Sedan from 1988 then a Series 2 Sedan released in 1990, neither of them had those wrap around molds, nor those wheels, and as far as I'm aware they didn't come with leather seats either. The Series 2 did have 15 inch alloys, but a totally different design, and the bumpers were colour coded, whereas the Series 1 wasn't. The Series 2 also lost the faux woodgrain instrument surround too, for some reason. I think the woodgrain looks better :)
I have a 1989 Series 1, which I've extensively restored or repaired over the last 20 years of owning it. I've changed the front nose cone to a Series 2, which is like the front on this car. I've also replaced all the body rubbers and suspension bushes, as well as the shocks and struts of course. Mine has about 214K KMs on it and I've just recently had a full service on the engine to repair all the oil leaks, which is not uncommon with these V6 engines after a bit of age and mileage.
There's not much I haven't replaced or repaired since owning it. I've also made a few mods to it, i.e. lowered (not stupidly low though), custom exhaust and aftermarket sports seats instead of the too soft lounge chairs that the Series 1 was fitted with. I've also not long ago given it a full repaint, with colour coded bumpers like the Australian Series 2.
The only time I ever see another like it on the road now is the reflection in shop windows as I drive past them :P Due to its age it's considered a classic (older than 30 years), but it's more it's uniqueness now which attracts the interest :)

Just now saw this...probably too late to vote to save it...but that is my feel for it.
I had a 1991 Mazda 929S. Loved it. Had it for 3 years till I was transferred to Colorado where I needed to have a 4x4 to get around. Interstate driving was smooth. Very Very fast if you had a place to run it. Roomy and comfortable ride.

Without question that's a save, that's a S model too, upgraded brakes, suspension, and 40 more hp than the SOHC non S. I've never seen a S with heated seats either, very rare. and that spoiler if it's oem is hyper rare.

Question: is the passenger seat power or were they always manual with no power option?

I think this one has the more powerfull V6 3.0 DOHC engine, it first came out with a SOHC 3.0 V6.

Someone should turn this into a drift car. Under appreciated RWD platform.

I’d save it, but I think the cost of saving it would be a bit too much to deal with.

The italian guy is just too old...he even has the new part for the dashboard. He clearly loves the car.

You have never been to Atlanta. If the car exists it is not too far gone to be saved here.

I like the way it looks. But the interior isn't in great condition nor is the engine. I'd probably pass on it.
